Harry Potter: The art of divination

In 1972 Hogwarts receives a new and mysterious professor. The class of Divination was never the same after. The journey of Morpheus will be long and daunting can he finally reach his goal? - Au: there will be many changes to the world of Harry potter, such as some Gods will exist, and so will demons and angels. Not a Fix it fic, of course, some futures will change but the main focus will not be on fixing the future. SI: Mc is not reincarnated into this world Timeline: some characters might be younger or older disclaimer: So, most of this obviously belongs to J.K.Rowling. I'm just writing a fanfiction out of it. The cover art is sadly, not mine. ————- (P) (A) (T) (R) (E) (O)(N) LINK: patreon.com/Boogie324

End of the first day-6

-Morpheus pov -

I relaxed back into my chair after my last class left, it's hard to teach the upper years because although they have a decent foundation on some things, they have a terrible understanding of divination.

it's just the last couple of teachers didn't focus on the more refined aspects of Divination, half of my seventh-year students didn't even know that you can use tarot cards without being gifted with a form of natural seer abilities.

It's safe to say after dinner I will be needing to refine my classwork for every year but the fourth and third-year students.

As I walked down the corridors of Hogwarts I spotted a kid in Slytherin robes, he was drenched in water, helplessness shown in his eyes.

The clicking of my boots riveted throughout the corridor drawing the child's attention, he looked up at me as he began to hoist himself up propping a hand on the stone wall.

I stopped in front of him, "who did this?" I asked tilting my head to the side

"Doesn't matter," he mumbled and began to walk away toward the great hall

I flicked my wrist freezing him in place, I walked in front of him and looked deeply into his eyes, "who did this?" I asked

I could tell seeing his own reflection unnerved him, I focused on my magic and unfroze just his face, "Gryffindor," he spat out fury showing in his eyes

I chuckled softly but there was no warmth, Godric's house of course.

Unfreezing the boy I said, "Very well get to dinner,"

Hastily the boy left my presence, I turned and started to walk in a different direction, I know this castle like the back of my hand.

I arrived at the grand hall before him and sat down, "Professor, I heard your classes went well," Minerva told me

"Ah yes for my first third and fourth year's that is, everyone else seems to have been taught unacceptable information," I replied with a humor-less smile

"Ah, that can't be right Morpheus, maybe the information was just from a different point of view," Albus said with a grandfatherly expression etched onto his wrinkled face

"Yes the wrong one," I replied taking a sip of my butterbeer

"Ah, Professor McGonagall your lions seemed to have bullied a Slytherin student in the hall, he was soaked with water," I said turning my attention back to her

"That's horrible, did you see who did it?" she asked in surprise

"No, I barely even got the house out of the poor kid," I replied shaking my head

I looked at the child in question, "ah Mr. Snape," she said I saw a look of realization dawn on her face before she looked over at a certain group of young wizards

Albus saw her look and said, "Now Minerva we don't know if it was them, let's just mark it off as a harmless prank,"

"Interesting decision," I replied still looking at the boys

"You disagree with me?" Albus asked

"You won't even investigate?" I asked in return

Albus shook his head, "it's just students being students,"

I scoffed, I saw the look in that boy's eyes, it was full of helplessness. He looked utterly defeated.

I saw the Gryffindor group look over at Mr. Snape and laugh aloud, they then looked over at the high table where we were sitting. The one with unkept hair met my eyes, I smiled at him as his eyes grew wide in horror.

*crash!* he fell from his seat and began to back away

Right now he was seeing a particular scene playing out in my eyes, it was of him growing older and being murdered.

Normally one wouldn't be able to make out what was in my eyes from that far of a distance but my eyes are special especially when you make eye contact.

"Mr. Potter! What are you doing get back in your seat!" Minerva scolded him

By now everyone was looking at the pale Potter, he looked down and like a docile animal sat in his seat.

"What is wrong with him?" Poppy asked

"Must have thought Albus was going to punish him," I replied with a gentle smile which just seemed to unnerve the professors

I saw Minerva and Albus bristle at my use of first names, the others just seemed amused. Albus was looking at me deeply a frown marring his face.

I sat in my bed, a thoughtful expression was held on my face as I thought over my plans, I need to find the item I gave Rowena. It's half of the reason I'm here in the first place.

The only problem is, she didn't leave any note or message to lead me in the right direction, I also can't ask the castle seeing as it isn't even fully awakened yet.

A long sigh escaped my lips, being immortal is tiering, and teaching in these conditions is ever the daunting task.

Seriously why would the old man purposefully ruin the art of divination? These past professors weren't even recognized as masters in the art.

Back to the event, I staged at the Great Hall there is more than one simple reason for me doing it. I didn't do it just because they bullied someone when I grew up pouring water on someone wasn't even bad I mean the offended party probably would have fought back and maybe even killed the offender.

Basically, back in ancient times, there was no 'bullying' if you had a problem with someone you either assassinated them or went to the death pits and fought like men.

No, I helped him because I saw some potential in the boy, the best way to cultivate a bond is to help one out during trying times.

Chuckling to myself I decided to leave the castle for the night, something required my attention.

I easily left seeing as I know all of the secret passages, then I apparated to my home, taking out some floo powder I threw it into the smoldering flames, "Greece, Morpheus Manor!" I intoned disappearing into the flames

Appearing in my manor careful not to mistake it for my family manor in Greece I began to descend the winding staircase.

Eventually, I reached the bottom floor, "Open," I spoke softly my voice sounding like a thousand different tones

The stone floor before me changed into a staircase, walking down I was greeted by the familiar sight of a deep pit, black miasma drifted from the pitch-black bubbling liquid, if any other wizard were to be down here bar a few of the more powerful ones they will begin to break down emotionally and their bodies would being to weaken.

I stood over the pit, flicking my wrist a ritual danger appeared in my hand, *shickk* I cut my wrist and watched as my deep red blood slowly dripped into the pit.

Mentally I counted the seconds, right as I reached seven I healed the wound and left my manor.

[BONUS SCENE: The Prophecy of old]

[Location unknown. date: sometime Bc]

An ancient family stood before a young witch, as she floated in the air words began to pour from her mouth, "As the clear-eyed man walks the realm others old and powerful will awake, their presence will cause the earth to shake, a war between races is near, don't cross the demon for his path is clear. The final battle will change the world,"

The others didn't know what language she spoke in, but the girl remembered and told her family after translating the prophecy that seemed misplaced in time.

The family passed down the prophecy.
