Harry Potter: The art of divination

In 1972 Hogwarts receives a new and mysterious professor. The class of Divination was never the same after. The journey of Morpheus will be long and daunting can he finally reach his goal? - Au: there will be many changes to the world of Harry potter, such as some Gods will exist, and so will demons and angels. Not a Fix it fic, of course, some futures will change but the main focus will not be on fixing the future. SI: Mc is not reincarnated into this world Timeline: some characters might be younger or older disclaimer: So, most of this obviously belongs to J.K.Rowling. I'm just writing a fanfiction out of it. The cover art is sadly, not mine. ————- (P) (A) (T) (R) (E) (O)(N) LINK: patreon.com/Boogie324

Bones

*Narrator pov*

Amelia chuckled softly at Xenophilius's joke, "Any tips Xenophilius?" she asked waiting for her name to be called

Xenophilius shrugged, "Not much I think you can win Amelia, you have far better stamina than me so if the duel drags out I'm sure you can pull through. However, one thing I will say is it will probably be best to try and finish the duel before your opponent can break apart the platform and start transfiguring stuff,"

Amelia nodded, "I noticed they usually start by breaking up the platform in some way,"

Pandora hummed, "Perhaps instead of focusing on attacking and defending instead focus on interrupting their Transfiguration? Force them into an uncomfortable situation and I'm sure at the same time you will create openings,"

"While wise I wouldn't be too reliant on the fact that the school focuses on Transfiguration," Morpheus spoke from his seat, "Afterall not all of our students focus on the same thing,"

The students nodded in agreement after all he was right not all of the Hogwarts students liked to use charms some perfected Transfiguration and most different from all was their very own Stiles Marr who dueled with ice.

"Amelia Bones versus Jack Brawnwen!" the judge announced earning cheers from both sides

Amelia strode toward the platform her wand already in hand, a confident air seemed to surround the duelist as she stepped onto the stone battleground.

Her opponent Jack Brawnwen strode toward the platform equally as confident a smirk plastered across his lips, "Let's have a good one," he said across the platform

Amelia nodded, "Lets,"

"Are both of you ready?" the judge asked waiting for two nods of agreement

Both nodded and the judge smiled, "Good, START!"

Amelia wasted no time, launching the first spell. "Expelliarmus!" she shouted, aiming to disarm Jack right from the start.

But Jack was prepared. With a flick of his wand and a swift incantation of "Protego," a shimmering shield formed in front of him, deflecting the disarming charm with ease.

Undeterred, Amelia pressed on, conjuring a burst of flames with "Incendio," sending them hurtling towards Jack in a blazing arc.

Jack's response was swift. "Aguamenti!" he countered, summoning a powerful jet of water from his wand to douse the flames before they could reach him, the water hissing as it collided with the fiery onslaught.

The duel intensified as both wizards unleashed a flurry of spells, their movements fluid and precise. "Stupefy!" "Impedimenta!" "Lumos Maxima!"

Each spell cast illuminated the courtyard with bursts of colorful light, casting intricate shadows across the stone platform.

Amelia, determined to gain the upper hand, seized the opportunity to showcase her skills in Transfiguration. With a flick of her wand, she cast "canis transformatio," transforming a nearby rock into a snarling hound, which bounded towards Jack with bared teeth.

Jack, unfazed by the sudden appearance of the rapid dog, remained focused as he cast "Petrificus Totalus," freezing the wolf in its tracks before it could reach him, its snarl frozen in a silent growl.

But Amelia wasn't finished yet. With a swift motion, she cast "Sagita," an arrow flew from her wand aiming to pierce his leg

Jack reacted quickly, countering with "Diffindo," a severing charm that sliced through the arrow with precision. With a determined expression, he retaliated with "Expulso," sending a powerful blast of force towards Amelia.

Amelia's reflexes kicked in, and she countered with "Protego," summoning a shield to absorb the impact of Jack's spell. The force of the blast sent her stumbling backward, but she managed to regain her footing.

The duel raged on, each wizard unleashing their arsenal of spells with increasing intensity. "Reducto!" "Incarcerous!" "Avis!"

The courtyard echoed with the sounds of their incantations and the crackling of magical energy colliding. Spells danced through the air in intricate patterns, each wizard trying to outmaneuver the other with skill and strategy.

Amelia, her mind racing with possibilities, seized upon an idea. With a flick of her wand, she cast "Wingardium Leviosa," causing a small pebble of a rock to float in front of his

Sidestepping another spell she incanted, "Depulso, Arresto Momentum!" she ducked another spell just in time to see her pebble shoot forward and then begin to slow down giving her ample time to swish her wand once more, "Engorgio!" she yelled

The pebble grew into a bolder as it crashed down onto the platform and began to roll relentlessly toward Jack.

Let it be known Jack had quick reflexes instead of dodging left or right and giving Amelia a wide-open shot for a spell he looked at the bolder and smirked, "Finite," the bolder immediately shrunk as did his eyes because a spell was heading right at him now Amelia seemingly predicting he would do just that

Jack threw his body to the right dodging the spell as he rolled on the ground and quickly got to his feet.

With a glare, Jack retaliated with "Serpensortia," summoning a hissing snake from his wand that seemed to pounce at Amelia

But Amelia was not so easily scared. With a deft motion, she cast "Glacius," sending a jet of icy cold air toward the snake, freezing it in its tracks before it could fully strike.

The duel continued fiercely once more as both wizard and witch poured all their skill and determination into their spells. "Expelliarmus!" "Confringo!" "Protego!"

The surroundings trembled with the force of their magic, the stone platform beneath their feet quivering with each spell cast.

In a final, desperate move, Amelia conjured a swirling vortex of wind with "Ventus," aiming to knock Jack off balance and gain the upper hand.

"Protego!" the harsh winds whipped around his shield as he gritted his teeth in exhaustion and pain

Amelia did not give up she kept moving forward, "Stupefy,"

"Protego!" he slashed his wand blocking the spell

"Stupefy,"

"Protego!" the barrier rippled just a little bit more this time

"Stupefy" "Arresto Momentum," she said immediately after but much softer

The slowing spell was hidden behind the stunner as Jack blocked his third stunning spell he went to counter-attack but found himself struck by the nigh-invisible slowing spell.

His movements turned to a snail's pace as he tried to change his wand movements back into a Protego instead of an attack spell.

"Stupefy, Expelliarmus!" Amelia did not waste any time as she viciously spat out the finishing words

Jack was stunned literally and figuratively watching his wand fly out of his hand and into Amelias as the judge announced, "Amelia Bones wins!"

The judge then quickly freed Jack of the slowness spell and the stunning spell and the boy collapsed rubbing his stomach in discomfort.

Amelia hastily walked over to the boy and held out his wand, "Great duel!" she beamed with a satisfied smile

He looked up and took the wand with half a smile, "Yeah good duel,"
