Chapter 32  Getting Shot While do nothing (ᇂ_ᇂ|||)

Eliot couldn't help but complain in his heart. Only the Wolf Clan, who had nothing better to do, could come up with such a plan. But hiding female beasts was no small matter, and Eliot certainly couldn't let the Canine Clan be blamed for it just to protect Happiness, so he shook his head and said, "That's not true. If you're looking for the Wolf Chief, he's in District 5."

Eugene became suspicious, the more convinced he was by Eliot's firm denial, the more he believed they were up to something important. So he didn't say much, just patted Eliot on the shoulder and smiled, "I also promised your leader to get him a female like Julie. You're being too formal." With that, Eugene hugged Julie and walked forward. He didn't need anyone to lead the way, he could just follow Eliot's scent.

Eliot quickly caught up. The white wolf's mind was made up, and it wouldn't be appropriate to stop him any longer. So he could only hope that Lionel, who rarely interacted with others, could act convincingly and send Eugene away early.Eliot no longer hesitated and confidently walked in front of Eugene. When they were close to the courtyard, Art saw billowing black smoke coming out of the kitchen window. He couldn't help but smile. Andy had done a good job of covering up Happiness's scent with this, nothing could be more effective than this.

As soon as Eugene entered the gate, he stumbled and fell. Andy, holding a spatula, had a black face and said, "I-I-I-I-It's burnt!"

"Hurry up, make another one. Throw away the burnt one. Cough, it's too choking," Eliot waved his hand. He sniffed and could faintly smell the burnt odor mixed with a trace of Happiness's scent. 

If Eugene was as fastidious as Abyssyus, he would have left with the mechanic girl immediately. But despite his white gloves and white uniform, Eugene didn't have any cleanliness issues. He just glanced at Andy, coughed a few times, and said, "What's going on? Even the Wolf Clan has it, huh? Well, your Primitive Beast Clan in District 5 is really united."

Eliot remained unfazed, "Unity is strength. Come on, I'll take you to see Lionel." Andy made a gesture with the spatula, showing a '2', meaning Lionel was in District 2.

"Let's go," Eugene frowned, scanning the surroundings. If they made such a mess just for the sake of female beasts, then Lionel's injury became extremely suspicious. Lionel was a prominent figure on the hunting list. If he was injured to the point where he couldn't even move, how powerful would his opponent, the Ancient Mutant, be? If he could bring back first-hand information to District 11... or if he simply stayed in District 2 and captured the Ancient Mutant, would it be a great achievement?

Lionel's door was not locked, Eliot went in first. Upon seeing Lionel's appearance, he immediately breathed a sigh of relief. This guy had a thick bandage wrapped around his head, and there was a faint leopard clan aura and a strong smell of medicine in the room. If the head was injured, it would naturally be difficult to move. Lionel blinked and pressed the mouse with his hand.

"Oh, the perfume that Abyssyus left behind?" Lionel said casually, "The scent is not bad, so I asked him to leave me some as an air freshener."

"Not bad, give me some later too," Eliot said.

"Next time," Lionel said, glancing at Eliot. If Lionel also asked for some, he really had nowhere to get it from.

Eugene felt that something was off, but he couldn't catch them in the act. Of course, that was because Lionel had actually cut his hand and smeared blood on his forehead to make it look real. The room was also dimly lit, so as long as he stayed in bed, Eugene couldn't figure out what was going on.

"What kind of ancient species could cause such a serious injury to you?" Eugene asked.

"Advanced ancient species, there were several of them attacking, but I wiped them out," Lionel said, closing the computer and looking tired. He closed his eyes, clearly indicating that he wanted Eugene to leave.

As soon as he stepped out, Eugene saw Andy, with a dirty face, looking at Julie with a dumbfounded expression. His black fingers were even touching her face, leaving several fingerprints on her cheek.

Eugene was furious, "What are you doing! How dare you touch her randomly! Did I allow you to touch her?!"

The sudden roar startled Andy, and he awkwardly withdrew his fingers, his gaze lingering on Julie.

Eliot gave a thumbs up to Andy from behind Eugene. Nice move.

Eugene angrily held onto Julie and stomped away. These primitive hillbillies were truly unbearable!

Before they even left the living room, Eugene suddenly stopped. Did Happiness expose them? Obviously not, because Eliot and Andy, who were right behind him, also became cautious. They saw several figures flash outside the living room window through the thick smoke, followed by the roar of wild beasts and the heavy thuds of huge bodies landing outside.

Advanced ancient species?! It turned out that Lionel was right. Eugene placed Julie in a corner of the living room, closer to the window. When he looked outside, snowflakes were still falling, and several primitive beast clans were lying on the ground, but there was no trace of the ancient species.

Eugene's expression turned serious, and he moved his fingers. A pair of mechanical claws, over a meter long, appeared from his elbows. There were small silver holes along the back of the claws, and the tips of the claws had five blood grooves. Eliot was quite familiar with the combat style of the machine battle beast clan and knew that these claws were used to launch beam cannons. A silver steel armor covered Eugene's joints and vital parts, and his eyes and nose were covered by a translucent metal material. With his determined chin and a slim figure, the biological exoskeleton made him look incredibly cool. Taking a closer look, it was quite impressive.

"Variation of ancient species." Eugene whispered softly. Once in battle mode, there was no trace of the brainless show-off he used to be. He underwent a complete transformation, from frivolous to calm and solemn. He raised a single claw in front of his chest and quickly said, "Black-faced little wolf, come with me to check the situation outside. Eliot, go and protect Lionel, take my Julie with you too."

At hesitated for a moment. The majority of the canine beasts were loyal and gentle in nature. How could they handle these obvious difficult-to-deal-with mutant ancient species by themselves?

"Hurry up," Eugene urged, rushing out of the door.

Eugene and Andy had extensive battle experience. After transforming into giant wolves, Andy protected Eugene by his side. Not far outside were the corpses of several residents from the second district, still emitting heat. Both beasts knew that they may be facing the evolved intelligent mutant species as mentioned on TV. They proceeded with extreme caution, step by step.

Unexpectedly, even with such caution, the enemy managed to take advantage. Upon hearing the sound of bullets and trajectory friction, Eugene and Andy quickly dodged to the sides. Andy's massive body was unable to avoid it, and he was grazed by the consecutive bullets, injuring his shoulder.

Attacking the primitive beast tribe with firearms, and even equipping them with silencers, were these mutant ancient species or radical primitive beast tribes?! Andy and Eugene were furious, both looking up at the roof, only to be startled.

There were three men standing on the roof, so close that the two beasts couldn't hear their breathing. The man in the middle had an entire arm shaped like a sniper rifle. Seeing that the first shot missed, the man remained motionless, and the massive sniper rifle transformed into a sharp blade. The most bizarre thing was that this was not the biomechanical armor used by the machine beasts. This transformation seemed to have grown out of the man's body, the blade was a part of him.

Eugene's heart sank. Stabilizing his posture, he fired a beam cannon first, and half of the roof along with the three men vanished. However, in the blink of an eye, the three men rushed to Eugene and Andy. Their attacks were both strong and swift. Eugene blocked the blade, and the opponent's strength caused intense pain in his hand. He quickly dodged to the right, unloading the immense force.

Andy leaped and bit, fiercely counterattacking, but within a short ten seconds, he also sustained several minor injuries. These three men emitted no foul odor of ancient species, and they seemed to not feel pain. They were like lifeless killing machines.

A leopard roar, a black lightning bolt leaped down from the three windows, directly pouncing on the mutant ancient species entangling Andy. The leader's strength was incomparable to Andy, as Lionel was specialized in speed and didn't rely on brute force. His attacks were flexible and elusive.

These three men began to regret. They didn't expect that there were so many beast tribe experts in the second district. The three of them were the least obedient to the new leader of the purification species, and this mission was kept secret from Noah. At this moment, they failed to break through, and the beast tribe witnessed them using their bodies as weapons. It seemed that the existence of the purification species had been leaked, causing them to feel anxious. They retreated repeatedly, and Lionel and Andy had no intention of pursuing them. Eugene alone couldn't take them down, so he could only watch as they flew away into the sky!

The purification species that had initially injured Andy felt unwilling. After leaping into mid-air, it saw movement from the three windows and thought to inflict another heavy injury on a beast before leaving. It charged towards the window and crashed through with a loud crash! Oh no! Lionel and Andy leaped towards the three men. The mutant ancient species rushed in and happened to enter Happiness's room!

In that instant, Happiness's room was already in ruins. Eliot caught Happiness in its mouth, firmly protecting him under its belly. Ben had transformed into a beast form and engaged in a fight with the man. The man saw Happiness and was momentarily stunned. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the black panther and the gray wolf pouncing towards him. Without further hesitation, he coldly swung his arm and fiercely struck the man's neck before swiftly rushing out without looking back.

Due to not daring to make any big movements that could harm Happiness, Ben shrinking back and being cautious was that his shoulder was hacked open near his neck, with flesh and blood spilling out. However, this kind of injury is nothing to a powerful beast with strong healing abilities. Ben doesn't pursue the ancient creature and anxiously transforms into human form, rushing to check Happiness's injuries. Her shoulder and chest were already not fully healed, and now they have completely split open. Blood gushes out like a fountain, soaking the white fur on Eliot's belly. It is truly a shocking sight. Happiness is in so much pain that her facial features are creased together, unable to even make a sound. She collapses on the floor, trembling.

Ben was anxious. They couldn't give Happiness a blood transfusion, and if she continued to lose so much blood, her life could be in danger!

The rest of the beasts also transformed into human form. Eliot picked up Happiness and ran down with her, bypassing the ruins. Andy pushed aside the wooden sculpture-like Eugene and followed Eliot down.
