Hanazono: Heiress

Lavalee Flamelinne Hanazono, the second born and heir to the large multi-trillion Hanazono Empire, is not your typical heiress. Beneath her often irritating and frowned-upon spoiled and brat-like appearance and ways, she carries a heavy burden and a scarred heart. No matter how free and how ideal her almost perfect life appears in front of everyone, from the moment she had stepped into the world, her arms and feet had been bounded by chains. These chains not only restrict her from stepping into the light by holding her back into the shadows, but it also wraps around her heart. An inescapable obligation passed down behind the curtains from generation to generation in their family, an obligation that robbed her, and her whole family, of the chance to make great childhood memories. She had learned to live in a way that she doesn't hurt herself with the chains she's bounded to but this is about to change. “What I am doesn’t define who I am.” May it be the will of fate or simply mere coincidence, she will cross paths with a person who is her complete opposite. Even though he is walking in the path she can never walk in, his and her life will soon be entangled in a knot that tightens the more they try to step away from each other. She whose hands are tainted with the blood of many people, she who wears a crown of authority, power, and responsibility, she who keeps a whole empire steady, and she who had her heart surrounded by metal to avoid getting swayed from her duties. He who belongs to the world that Lavalee wanted to return to but can’t, he who mandates the laws that her world breaks, and he who has the courage to open Lavalee’s heart again. “Who said it’s going to be easy?” Indeed, it won’t be easy.

Preparations

_Jace Dreice Scott's Point of View_

I woke up at exactly 5 AM, my body didn't need much adjustment because the time difference between Japatrein and Seryphil is only one hour.

It's already 7AM here in Japatrein and 6AM in Seryphil, so I went out of my hotel suite, I don't have an exact place in mind but I figured that I could go head to the mall.

I might need a suit and tie for Lavalee's debut.

"Jace-chan!"

I was surprised when a kid went running to me, she even stopped in front of me but not before jumping up and down twice.

I looked at her and she looked at me with a bright smile on her face, only then did I recognize her as one of Lavalee's younger sisters.

I don't know her name though, I had heard her friends call her 'Summer', and Lavalee calls her Freia, but there are times that they'd call this little kid 'Ray' and 'Samantha'.

"It's nice to finally meet you!" she said and hugged me

"Jace,"

Frost arrived and gave me a slight nod after acknowledging my presence.

This little girl is probably the youngest from how they all treat her.

"Frost," I greeted him back and nodded my head as well

"You're both too formal." The kid said and released me from the hug

"Oh, right! Where are my manners?" she asked and chuckled

"I'm Summer Freia, you can call me Summer!" she said and bowed

"Jace," I said and offered my hand

"It's really nice to finally meet you, Jace-chan," she said and held my hand then shook it professionally

"Let's sit!" Summer said and held my hand along with Frost

I don't know why we're letting this little kid drag us to where she wants to go.

Frost held her hand tightly, probably to avoid losing her because the little girl seem to have a lot of energy running through her system.

We entered a coffee shop just across the hotel, I sat on the chair across the little girl, Summer, while Frost headed to the counter to buy his sister's request.

"I'm happy that you really came," Summer said while smiling then she cleared her throat

"As you know, we'll be preparing the surprise at our mansion later." She said, going straight to business

"Won't she suspect?" I asked her and she shook her head while smiling

I don't even see her eyes anymore.

"Of course not, onee-chan will just think that I'm preparing for another experiment or I want to celebrate parties." She said and I can see Lavalee's enthusiasm and persistence in her attitude.

Frost came back while holding a cup of milk tea in one hand and the other in his pocket, behind him is a waiter who placed two cups of coffee on our table along with two slices of cake.

"You hate parties." Frost said as he sat across his sister

What, she hated parties?

I didn't expect her to hate parties, not with her personality.

"Well, that's not true, nii-sama," Summer said and shook her head

Frost gave her the cup of milk tea after punching a hole on the cover with the straw and she took a sip.

"It's Sam who hates it," she said and she smiled

"Ray loves parties, and I don't hate it either."

"She's inferior to you and Akuma." Frost's statement made Summer's expression change from a sweet smile to a frown

Huh? Did Summer have twins?

Now that I think about it, Jess, Irene, and Chelsea did sometimes calls little girls who have the same appearance as Summer with the same names that Summer had just mentioned.

But, from what I remember, Lavalee said that there are five of them. She has two brothers, her older brother; Frost, and younger brother; Fuego, and two younger sisters; Winter and Summer.

They're their cousins, perhaps?

"Do you want to help or not, Nii-sama?" Summer asked and took a sip from her milk tea

"I'm stating facts."

"Nii-sama!" she glared and puffed her cheeks because of Frost's reply

I find it cute even though she's acting irritated because she's still a kid, perhaps it's something natural to kids.

"Nii-chan, you'll help me, right?" she asked when she looked at me

"That's what I'm here for." I said and she smiled again and looked at Frost

"Majority wins, Nii-sama," she said chuckled

"So, here's the plan," she said and clasped her hands before putting her elbows on the table

"Icey-chan and I will be spending the day, until seven in the evening tonight, with onee-chan," she started and looked at Frost

"During that time, you can prepare the venue for her debut, we already sent the plan and how things should look so what's left to be done is to oversee it." She added

She took out a tablet from her bag and she began typing something on the screen before showing it to us.

All I can see are names listed from one to eighteen.

"This is the list of participants for onee-chan's eighteen roses, eighteen wishes, eighteen messages, and eighteen memories. Autumn-chan said that Flame-chan would appreciate it best if the venue won't be overcrowded, so most of the participants would be from our family members and onee-chan's friends." She said and began swiping the screen

"Are they here yet?" Frost asked her and she looked up like she was thinking, then she looked at us again and shook her head.

"Nope, Jess-nee, Chelsea-nee, and Irene-nee are on their way here, along with our uncles and aunts, they'll be arriving this lunch. I asked Autumn-chan to book them all on the same flight, Nii-sama." She said and leaned on her seat while sipping on her drink

"That's all?" I asked her and she nodded before her expression changed again

"By the way, Jace-chan, you'll be Flame-chan's eighteenth rose." She said which made me confused

"You didn't tell me that." I said

"That's why I'm telling you right now, Nii-chan," she said in a calm tone

"That's not a good attitude," Frost said and Summer lowered her head

"It won't happen again, Nii-sama, I'll make sure everyone and everything is in place ahead of time next time." She replied and I suddenly felt how different she was raised

"The theme's her name, right?" I took their attention and Summer nodded her head

"How about Autumn and the rest?" Frost asked

"They're not coming, well, Autumn-nee is coming but the two are in Euroxien." Summer said before taking a car key from her pocket and placing it on the table

"This is the key for the lift I asked Butler Kan to bring." She said and sipped on her drink

She stood up and smiled at us, she took her tablet from the table and placed it in her backpack before she took the sunglasses on her hair.

"I have to go," she said and wore the sunglasses

"Where are you going, young lady?" Frost asked her coldly but she just smiled

"That is better left unanswered, Nii-sama. As if you're not used to it," she said and walked away from the table with her drink in her hands.

Honestly speaking, I can see the spoiled kid version of Lavalee in her the difference is that it's her sister who has the opposite colored eyes.

If Lavalee had auburn eyes and hair, her sister has brown hair, but gold eyes.

"I'll go ahead," Frost said and stood up

"I hope for the success of this plan." He said

"Thank you for your trust." I said and stood up before placed my hand in front for a handshake.

He smirked before accepting my hand and shaking it, it was like we had closed a deal.

I took the keys on the table after Frost had left and I went to the parking lot, there was a blue SUV so I opened it and sat on the driver's seat.

I answered my phone when Irene's name flashed on my screen.

Now I know what the purpose was when Summer gave me the keys.

"I'm on my way," I said the moment I answered

I hung up and drove out of the cafe's parking lot, I drove the SUV to the Hanazono International Airport and went to the arrival area to wait for the ladies to arrive.

I couldn't help but shake my head when I saw them.

Geez. These girls are really head turners.

I walked up to them with my hands in my pocket. They smirked when they saw me, which made me raise my brow at them

"How did meeting her family go?" Irene asked with a hint of teasing in her voice

"It was just Frost and Summer." I said and helped them push the cart where their small bags are in.

"We're only staying here for two days." Chelsea said without lifting her gaze from her phone

"My flight's tomorrow afternoon." Jess said

"Same with mine," Irene said and Chelsea nodded
