Hanazono: Heiress

Lavalee Flamelinne Hanazono, the second born and heir to the large multi-trillion Hanazono Empire, is not your typical heiress. Beneath her often irritating and frowned-upon spoiled and brat-like appearance and ways, she carries a heavy burden and a scarred heart. No matter how free and how ideal her almost perfect life appears in front of everyone, from the moment she had stepped into the world, her arms and feet had been bounded by chains. These chains not only restrict her from stepping into the light by holding her back into the shadows, but it also wraps around her heart. An inescapable obligation passed down behind the curtains from generation to generation in their family, an obligation that robbed her, and her whole family, of the chance to make great childhood memories. She had learned to live in a way that she doesn't hurt herself with the chains she's bounded to but this is about to change. “What I am doesn’t define who I am.” May it be the will of fate or simply mere coincidence, she will cross paths with a person who is her complete opposite. Even though he is walking in the path she can never walk in, his and her life will soon be entangled in a knot that tightens the more they try to step away from each other. She whose hands are tainted with the blood of many people, she who wears a crown of authority, power, and responsibility, she who keeps a whole empire steady, and she who had her heart surrounded by metal to avoid getting swayed from her duties. He who belongs to the world that Lavalee wanted to return to but can’t, he who mandates the laws that her world breaks, and he who has the courage to open Lavalee’s heart again. “Who said it’s going to be easy?” Indeed, it won’t be easy.

Daring Bets

_26_ Andrea Jess Collins's Point of View

After our fights, it was kind of boring because the girl is so damn insecure.

I know that I'm so beautiful that it makes the so insecure but please is it really necessary to make it obvious?

Oh my gosh, they're so obvious.

Right now, I'm so terrified because of Lavalee's wicked smile.

She's smiling like she has a very devious plan.

Damn.

I mean we've been together for a long time but she's really scary at times. Just like now, for instance.

I returned my gaze to the match that is currently happening on the mats.

A little later, Jace's opponent fell and he is declared the winner.

After the three matches are done, the mats were brought together and we looked at Lavalee who's currently stretching her bones. We can hear how it creaks.

Most of our classmates would probably be cheering for the guy and that would be their biggest mistake; underestimating Lavalee.

"The last match would be, Kan and Tenero." The professor said and Lavalee immediately stood up and walked down to the mat.

Oh my gosh!

She has the guts to put her hand on her waist as if teasing.

Damn, Lavalee's not going to make this easy.

I think Lavalee's going to play with her bets and she'll be using it to earn their respect and superiority over the others.

"Hey, classmates!" she said when the guy stepped on the mat.

She was jumping enthusiastically while doing it.

She's energizing herself more.

"Wanna bet?" she smirked mischievously at our direction

"Damn bet," I whispered and I heard Irene whisper it too.

I'm hoping none of them would take it seriously. They should be drowned by Lavalee's playful image or they'll regret taking it literally.

Because the moment they engage and reply to Lavalee's betting game, they made Lavalee's opponent's chances of winning go down the drain. Lavalee won't stop until she wins.

"You're just arrogant."

"Go ahead!"

"Boo!"

"You brag!"

"Can you beat that?! What a brat!"

We closed our eyes shut when we heard the last shout. Dang. They dared her. They dared the devil of bets.

"So we have a deal, okay? Once I defeat him, you all will have to repeat on 3rd year, even him." Lavalee said and pointed at her opponent who was currently smirking at her

"Go ahead!"

"Can you do it?!"

"Arrogant!"

"Boo!"

"Sir, we have a deal, right? When I win, all of them fail except those who bet on me." She said and the tension began growing.

I hope that no one stands up against Lavalee because if that happens, we have no choice but to side up with Lavalee.

Once Lavalee declares it, she makes it happen. That's how persistent Lavalee Flamelinne is.

Call her spoiled, call her a bitch, but she won't stop until she gets what she wants and that is something no one should ever dare take away or else they'll feel the most painful torment they could ever imagine.

"I'm betting on you." We looked at the one who said that.

Jace.

"Who else?" Chelsea, Irene, and I along with the guys stood up and we went to the other side.

Like I said before, we're always here to support Lavalee.

"Okay, class. I give you permission for this betting game." The professor said and we closed our eyes because we don't want to feel remorse.

They brought this upon themselves, we can no longer stop Lavalee because they had pushed Lavalee's buttons.

"They're done for," Irene said and we nodded.

No one apart from Jace and Frost had ever won against Lavalee, not even her aunts or uncles.

Lavalee's siblings could only win by cheating but without that, Lavalee would automatically win.

If Frost is best at manipulation games, then Lavalee is best at betting games.

How more dangerous would the younger ones be?

I know that messing with them would bring trouble but there's more to it, those two alone, it's destructive.

I can't imagine what could possibly happen if one of their younger siblings get in trouble, those two, Lavalee and Frost, would surely declare war.

"So, this is the catch, right? If I win, all of those who didn't bet on me would repeat 3rd-year college and those who did are the only ones who could pass. If you guys win, then we'd be the one to repeat and we'd even pay you a million each." Damn Lavalee's words are tempting.

It's like making deals with the devil because of the impossible things, you think you won and she had the disadvantage but she had outsmarted you without you knowing that she's already manipulating you like how she manipulates the deal and her advantages.

The fight had begun but Lavalee haven't heard the magic word yet.

I saw how they cheered when Lavalee got punched in her stomach, she fell to the ground but her smile didn't falter.

She jumped up and began dodging the attacks again.

"IS IT A DEAL?" She asked loudly. She needs the answer now.

I thought nobody would dare shout it because if no one does then we'd shout it.

"DEAL!" the moment that echoed Lavalee's eyes had this glint again.

Amusement.

Excitement.

I felt goosebumps all over as Lavalee walked toward her opponent.

Gone was the playful Lavalee earlier who allowed her opponent to land some attacks on her.

The guy threw several punches, jabs, and uppercuts but all of those are blocked and dodged by Lavalee.

I think Lavalee's saying something. She's taunting him. More like she's playing her mind games.

Everything was a mess when the guy received a punch on the stomach, uppercuts, and jabs.

Lavalee was doing those slices again, a move that hits the critical points of the body.

We stilled when she tiptoed and did a ballerina position.

"Needles," I said while looking at Lavalee's posture. Lavalee will be using her nails as the needle tip.

She kept on kicking the guy throwing jabs.

To us, it looks like Lavalee's just dancing but she's actually targeting the vital parts of her opponent's body.

No one would ever win over her in that position.

"Nice," the whole Gym went silent went they heard Lavalee say that

It seems like a compliment but not for us.

She's reciting her part of the chant.

A chant that she usually chants when she's assassinating someone.

"And warm." She said and jumped and landed on the guy's shoulder's she pressed the guy's critical point

"As spice," she said and jumped just as her opponent had dropped on the mat.

She even had the audacity on bowing.

"So, I'll be your senior," Lavalee said and walked toward us.

We were about to warn her of the knife that was flying toward her but a shuriken deflected the knife.

"Thank you," Lavalee said and smiled at the one who threw the shuriken

We followed where she is looking and we saw Jace.

Wait.

Jace?!

We couldn't believe that Jace actually has a shuriken because I mean he's a police officer.

"You didn't need to use my shuriken though." Lavalee smiled and looked at us

"Catch," Jace said and threw Lavalee's duffel bag which the latter caught.

"Thanks, let's go change," Lavalee said and we took our duffel bags too.

We went to the locker room with Lavalee and we changed into our clothes earlier.

Lavalee's wearing her orange dress with back and gold belt. She is wearing her black wedges again.

I'm wearing my white off-shoulder crop top and, brown and black square pants partnered with my silver wedges.

I know our clothes aren't for school.

Irene is wearing a white shirt and black cotton jeans and black sneakers while Chelsea, she's technically the only one who looks like she's actually going to school.

White blouse with sleeves that reach to her wrist, a black skirt that ends an inch above her knee, white socks that reach up to the middle of her thigh, and black doll shoes. Not to mention the red and white ribbon between the first and second buttons of her blouse.

When we went out of the locker room we saw our classmates looking at us angrily.

Fools.

Can't accept a simple failure.

Poor them.

They can never win against Lavalee.

"You bitch!" One of them tried to attack Lavalee but Jace blocked her

"You agreed to the deal. It's your loss, not ours." I said taunting them

"You cheaters! You've been cheating!" some of them accused us more like Lavalee

"I didn't cheat," Lavalee said and raised her head high

"Is it my fault you're stupid? I know the Red Fire Academy's Mission is to make a school where students can be free but at the same time would learn from their mistakes, I don't think you fit in this school." Lavalee said coldly

They seemed to have wavered because of the intensity in Lavalee's cold voice. I felt the chills run upon my spine because of the coldness of her voice.

"You can't tell me I broke any rules because I memorize all one hundred pages of that student handbook," Lavalee smirked at them

Of course, Lavalee owns the whole school since she was 10.

This is her existing sanctuary, a dream she planned that her parents built for her to take care of.

"Watch your tongues. You don't want to end up dead." Irene said and we walked past them

The guys surrounded us Jace is beside Lavalee, Ethan is beside Chelsea, Elijah walked beside Irene, and Caspian was positioned beside me.

"You were great back there." Caspian complimented

"Because we're protecting something," I replied

"You grow stronger when you're protecting somebody, I didn't know it was really true." He said while nodding

When we rode in the car, I opened my phone to look at my social media account, I took a photo of the road in front of us and posted it on my account.

Jess Collins

On our way to Lavalee Choi's place.

So many people commented and liked it.

I don't know why Lavalee's social media accounts were named Lavalee Choi, maybe to hide the fact that she's elite?

I don't know, Lavalee's undefinable.

When we arrived home we saw Jace holding Lavalee's arm on the stairs.

They have this staring contest.

I really admire Jace because he can stare into Lavalee's auburn eyes without wavering.

I mean Lavalee's eyes aren't scary but they resemble fire, just like her name, and staring into them makes you feel engulfed by a dimension of the fire.

"Are you killing yourself?" we were stunned when we heard what Jace had asked Lavalee.

Oh boy.

Just what the fuck?!
