A Pub-
Disregarding the norm, Kira decided to have her meeting in the pub which one of friend owned in the middle of the day. Leaving Grekov without a choice as she had a upper hand.
"So officer Grekov, why am I being blessed to have your presence here today?" Kira was stirring her drink that was probably hyped these days on social media. She really didn't had any interest what her ex wanted to talk about. She wasn't in any mood to take bullshit today.
Despite that she had to got dressed, took a subway and come here on time all for the fact that once she worked with the guy in front of her.
"I actually want your help." The desperation in George's tone was visible making Kira raise her eyebrows in shock and surprise.
There was no way she was going to help him. They didn't even broke up on friendly terms, if it wasn't for him using general Petrov's name she wouldn't be here.
"F*ck off, George." Grekov rolled his eyes on her cursing him as if he knew it beforehand that this was going to happen. But he didn't thought Kira was going to curse when a stanger was present. George looked at the guy serving her the drink who had a subtle smile on his face. Grekov subconsciously took a deep breath.
"Anyway, he (general Petrov) said it's okay to ask for your help in Z's case."
"You should ask for his help then, why ask me?"
Grekov sigh after hearing her rejection again and again. This was the reason he never dates someone he works with. But as soon as he looked in her direction once again he saw Kira in deep thought.
After a long pause,
"Wait, you are working on that case!" Kira looked suprised, as if she didn't thought Grekov would be given the case.
Seeing her getting serious about the issue Grekov finally felt relieved that now he could have civil conversation with her.
"Are the higher ups out of their mind handling such case to you?"Even though Kira had bad blood with George she clearly knew his capabilities, no matter how harshly she spoke.
Grekov had numerous cases where he disregarded the higher ups efforts to close a case. Resulting him becoming the honest yet not favoured officer by the officials. But Kira probably wasn't updated on the changes Grekov had gone through in recent years. "Well what do you wanted help with?" Kira asked despite knowing that her expertise was hacking.
But before Grekov could answer her, his phone ranged irritating Kira as she had her phone on silent.
Grekov tried to pick up his call as it was from his colleague but he couldn't as his phone was hanged, leaving it to ring for a long time. Making Kira more irritated, she had always questioned her ex's music taste but never to this extent.
Just after few seconds of seeing George's struggle Kira grabbed his phone from his hand leaving him dumbfounded. Though it was rude of Kira to behave like that but it wasn't impossible of her.
She quickly switch off the phone and started it again, the phone was still wasn't working well. After trying few more things she realised they weren't working.
"What is wrong with this phone? What kind of viruses you are carrying in it?"
George eyes widen seeing as his phone getting taken away. "It's okay, can you forget about the phone for a moment?" He resorted to petty tactic to make Kira ignore his phone.
Kira nodded but after few seconds George realised it wasn't going to end unless she finds the problem within the mobile phone. With that said his heart finally sank deep.

Mayor Steve paused while signing the document his assistant handed him and looked straight at the direction of guards patrolling in outside the office. All the security was all thanks to a cowardly hacker who was sitting some where in the world.
"Liam. Don't you think this is too much security?"
Liam opened his mouth to explain his boss it's necessary but stopped. He walked outside for a moment before returning after few minutes with some tea.
He placed simple looking cup on the table.
"I told them to take a break." Hearing what he wanted to hear was relief to Steve. He stood taking the tea cup in hand and went to glass window. There were still some local reporters outside who didn't had an appointment.
"Did officer Grekov reported any findings yesterday?" Liam didn't knew the mayor was familiar with the person appointed on the case. He never looked interested in it before.
"No, but he suggested not to make any public appearances."
Steve once walked to his table to resume his work. He opened his pen with grim expression.
"Ignore him."
Liam strength his grip on the documents he was holding. He eyes were filled with resentment.
"Sir, I don't think officer Grekov is cap-"
"Daddy!" Both Mayor Steve and Liam stopped as the little girl walked into the office in her school uniform. Steve stood up and came forward to pick her up.
"Sweety, how many times did i tell tell you knock?" It wasn't normal for mayor Steve to put his family in media coverage. But it wasn't uncommon of his five year old daughter to visit her father seldom.
The 5 year listened to her father while getting carried by him like a princess.
"It won't be a suprise, then." She tried to get her way with her father with excuses but mayor Steve didn't budge. He put her down and bend forward to explain manners to her.
Liam had already resumed his work, everytime he saw the mayor with his family he always had this weird feeling.
