Complications

Mike woke up looking at the ceiling in his room. Bolting upright he looked around seeing everything normal he walked out of his room towards the kitchen.

'First food,' He thought 'Then I figure out what happened.'

He stopped suddenly seeing Shuuji and Raven sitting at the table looking at him.

"About time you woke up." Shuuji grumbled.

Mike nodded "Is everything good?" He asked

"No sign of whatever those things were. I put the base on high alert just to be sure." Shuuji answered.

"Thank you," Raven said. "You saved me and gave me shelter. I don't want to cause any trouble, I'll move on."

"Like hell you will." Mike responded. "You need a place to stay."

"But they will come for me.." She began anxiously.

"So?" Mike asked. "We can handle those freaks."

"But you have no idea..." She began again trying to warn them.

"You're wasting your breath girl." Shuuji interjected. "Once he is set nothing will change his mind." He seemed both exasperated and proud at his disciple at the moment. 'Stubborn kid.' He thought to himself.

"But I can't pay." She responded trying a different tactic.

"Who asked you to?" Mike asked. "Listen you said yourself those things will keep coming. The way I see it you have three options."

Mike paused looking at her before continuing.

"One we let you out of here, surrounded by the woods you'll likely be attacked and captured. Alone you'll last a day at most."

Raven seemed to shake at this she was afraid.

"Two we take you to SHIELD or another equivalent. They still come for you likely in a densely populated area and they may or may not have the ability to protect you." Mike continued.

"Or three you stay here we already showed we can handle those after you." Mike finished before looking at her. "Whatever your decision I'll respect it, but I think option three is the best for all of us."

Raven agreed slowly and Mike showed her a guest room.

"It's yours, if you want it." Mike said.

"Thank you." She answered almost in tears. She had given up on finding a place to take her in disaster followed in her wake. Stepping in she laid down on the bed and was asleep instantly.

"We need to talk." Shuuji said when Mike returned to the kitchen.

"What's up Master?" Mike asked looking at his teacher.

"Look at your right hand." Shuuji said gravely.

Looking at his hand he saw the king of hearts tattoo on the back of his hand.

"When did this happen?" Mike asked confused.

"It happened when you unleashed that technique." Shuuji said. "That mark has a deep meaning. You are the leader of the Shuffle Alliance. Guardian of this world. It is a heavy responsibility."

He looked out the window. "To bear it means that you will not be able to just stand aside. Trouble will flock to you and you will face it head on."

Looking back at Mike he continued. "Be prepared rough times are ahead."

Mike left deep in thought. Going to the command center he ordered fifty more security drones. While they were being built he entered the hangar and looked at the two suits.

Entering the Gundam Marine Type, Mike launched into the open ocean. Double checking the armaments the Harpoon gun was loaded as were the torpedo pods. The underwater beam rifle was checked out. And he had exchanged the beam picks for a pair of Armor Schneider combat knives.

He quickly shot off towards New York. Raising the periscope he admired the view of the coast. He had alot to think about finally looking ar his rewards from the mission he paused stunned.

'It gave me another Gundam' He thought to himself.' Lost in thought he was jarred back to the present by an explosion in downtown New York.

Looking over he saw a bunch of skull headed robot squid things with cannons on top rampaging through downtown heading towards the UN.

"Fuck." Mike cursed before plotting an intercept course as a new mission triggered.

Mike shot towards the UN Building looking at the heavy fighting as SHIELD and other forces fought a losing battle against the robots. Jetting out of the water Mike shot his rifle four times aiming the the joints on the weird robots.

As heavily armored as they were they had a rough time stopping the beam rifle when he targeted th joints and other weak points.

Jumping to the left he dodged a Salvo of the cannons from the top of the robots. Landing on his side Mike rolled the Gundam shooting off a harpoon that embedded itself and exploded taking out another robot.

Rising to his feet in the Gundam stood steadfast rifle raised. Six more of the robots attacked him in a group, closing the distance rapidly and attacking with their tentacles.

Dropping the rifle and drawing the knives he engaged in an intense melee. Mike fought back and forth stabbing and swiping Mike felt blow after blow raining down on the Mobile Suit.

After a few minutes five of the six robots laid broken on the ground. The last one looking at The Gundam menacingly a loud voice with a heavy German accent came out from it.

"You will pay for interfering with HYDRA worm."

Mike picked up the rifle before blasting the Last robot to pieces. "Bring it." He responded shortly.

As he turned to return to the river a voice came over a loudspeaker. "This is SHIELD. Stay where you are."

Mike looked up at the helicarrier with weapons trained on him. He raised the Gundam's left hand and raised his middle finger to them. "Your welcome for doing your job see you around." He then jumped into the river before shooting off towards open oceans and diving rapidly.

POV Fury

"Motherfucker." Fury swore as the Robot disappeared.

"Should we go after it?" Maria Hill asked.

"Are you serious" Fury asked. "We have enough cleanup on our hands. Let it go but I wat all satellites on the lookout for that blue bastard."
