The Job[2]

The museum was pretty big and had 4 sections.

Section [A] - housed the Authentic Ancient Jewelry and Precious Stones.

Section [B] - housed the Authentic Ancient Artifacts and Tools.

Section [C] - housed Items like Authentic Ancient maps, Treasure maps.

Section [D] - housed the Unauthentic Items.

Each section had a manager and general workers. Above the managers was the Supervisor and above him was the Branch Manager.

Liw was just a small unofficial employee, the lowest level employee.

The lady he had just talked to was the Branch manager, The highest level employee.

In fact there were some rumors that she was just holding that title temporarily and that she was actually much higher up in the management chain.

Lliw didn't really care about all that. He was just here to work and other news about the museum didn't interest him much. After all he was still just a student and he was working here because of some special circumstances.

Lliw was assigned to Section [D], the most chaotic section.

Most big shots would only visit the first 3 sections. Section D was mainly visited by the middle and lower echelons of society. They were there mostly to just try their luck and see if they could find something of value that could earn them loads of cash.

"Little fella, Come quickly." A man in his 50's was viewing the items on display when he saw Lliw and called him over.

"Old man Mu, how are you" Lliw greeted cordially. Old man Mu was a frequent customer and although not all the items he bought were Authentic or valuable, he was usually able to snag one or two good items.

"Same as always. My old bones are not as good as they used to be. Anyway, How is it going in school?" The old man said with a kind smile. He was very fond of Lliw, he was very patient, kind and sensible.

"Don't worry about that, I always make time for my studies" Lliw said.

"Good. Don't get too caught up in this work and neglect your studies." Old man Mu advised.

"Anyway, I wanted to invite you for a meal one of the days." Old man Mu said with a bright smile. His wrinkles became more pronounced but Lliw found the sight rather warming. Lliw like this old man for his honest and upright personality.

"Oh, i assume your last item did very well?" Lliw said with an expectant smile.

"it did more than well my boy. Who knew that the old piece of parchment was an Authentic map of a lost civilization" Old man Mu laughed happily as he patted Lliw's shoulder like he was his grandson.

"Good!" Lliw said feeling genuinely happy for the old man.

Old man Mu owned a store where he sold Traditional medicine. The store wasn't doing so well because most people didn't believe in such primitive medicine.

Old man Mu was very learned in the ways of traditional medicine. He had knowledge from all over the world and his treatments were very versatile.

Although most people would term him a scam, Lliw knew otherwise. He had personally experienced his remedies when he was younger.

Lliw had been feeling very unwell after a couple nights of intense studying. He didn't want to worry his caretaker so he had been repressing it but one day, he couldn't bare it and collapsed on his way to school. By coincidence, he had passed out not too far from old man Mu's shop. Old man Mu brought him into his shop and fed him some medicine he'd concocted. Like a miracle, Lliw's exhausted body and spirit felt refreshed. From that day on, he would regularly visit old man Mu and the old man would give him some concoctions to take and Lliw's weak constitution strengthened up considerably.

"Alright, but i'm a bit busy this week so maybe next on the weekend." Lliw said.

"Right, right. Also my Son is coming over with his family, i want to introduce you to them" The old man said and the 2 agreed on a date before the they parted.

Lliw watched as Old man Mu left the museum after buying a few random items.

" Lliw, come here, i need your help with some packages." The section manager called Lliw over and lead him to the back of the museum where some people were offloading some boxes from a large delivery truck.

"you're young and strong so this shouldn't be too much trouble for you." The section manager said in encouragement as he saw Lliw's face turn at the sight of the boxes.

"y-yes sir." Lliw didn't complain and started to work right away.

"ah, what a good kid. what a pity..." The manager sighed. He liked Lliw for his dedication to his work. If it was his task, he wouldn't complain no matter how tedious or strenuous.

Lliw worked from the afternoon until 4 a.m in the morning. The Branch manager, the one who had hired Lliw in the first place, came over to check on him and reminded him to have his dinner and also let him use her office to sleep a little before going back to university.

Lliw liked the branch manager. Although she was young, presumably only 2 or 3 years older than him, she was very sensible and kind and treated everyone fairly. She wan't power hungry or abusive like the bosses in some movies. She was also especially considerate to him, but, perhaps that was due to the nature of his employment in the first place.

Lliw slept for 2 hours before going to university.

"Sigh... Damn those vengeful bastards. They're probably still keeping a grudge for the prank i pulled yesterday." Lliw thought sulkily but then when he imagined their faces sitting in front of their girlfriends and being forced to listen to their lectures, he couldn't stop himself from bursting into laughter.
