The Curiosity

Lliw left Denise and returned to Kim Asherdown.

" Yo, back already?" Kim looked at him strangely. could he really work that fast?

" Uhm… y-yeah. So do you need any help?" He asked.

" No, This is it. Thanks for your help" She Said gratefully.

" No problem." He said casually.

After bidding her farewell, he went into one of the independent study rooms and sat down to study.

Usually, he'd just take a seat somewhere isolated but wouldn't actually use the study rooms as they were more for group study but Kim said that they'd be joining him later on so he could only use it.

After more than 2 hours of studying, the door to Lliw's study room opened and 2 young women entered.

They weren't particularly pleasing to the eye.

" Hey, how's it going?" Kim greeted.

Denise didn't say anything and even avoided eye contact with him.

The 2 girls sat down across Lliw and took out their study materials.

" It's going pretty well, but there are some sections that I'll have to revisit, anyway are you guys done with your duties?" He asked casually while stretching his stiff limbs.

" yes. We're free for the rest of the day" Kim replied.

" Anyway, what sections do you need help with? Our Class rep here should be able to straighten it out for ya" Kim said with a chuckle, Denise had already told her of the unfortunate little incident.

Denise glared daggers at her friend but she wasn't wrong.

In fact, it was Kim who dragged her here, she didn't want to come at all.

" Uhm, no…it's alright. I don't want to bother the Class Rep" Lliw saw that Denise didn't look too happy so he turned down the offer. He understood that she must still feel pretty uncomfortable around him.

" N-no I don't mind." Denise quickly interjected. She was uncomfortable, yes, but she didn't want that to get in the way of her academics.

She knew how tricky the syllabus was this time around.

" R-really?... You don't have to force yourself, it won't take me too long to figure this out" He said hesitantly.

" Tsk, I've already agreed to it so why are you still being so reserved!" She said annoyedly.

Speaking of which, she felt annoyed at the young man in front of her, he got to take advantage of her.

"Ok, ok. I'll thank you In advance" He said helplessly. She was always serious when it came to thing related to school.

" Ok, show me what you don't understand" Denise said, quickly forgetting the unfortunate incident.

Another 2 hours passed by as the 2 girls tutored Lliw.

When they were finished, Lliw sat silently as he observed their faces while they talked to each other about some student council matters.

" H-hey, why has he been staring at us for so long?" Denise whispered to Kim.

" I don't know? It's kinda weird tho" Kim whispered back.

" H-hey… is something the matter?" Denise finally got him off his daydream.

" Uh, N-no." He stuttered.

"ok, we're going out for lunch now, wanna join us?" She asked.

" Sure." He said absentmindedly.

Lliw was busy debating inside his mind whether he should share his concerns with them or not.

As they were about to leave the room, he finally decided to ask

" H… ahem, hey, Clas- Denise, Kim" he called out.

" Yes" The 2 girls turned back and answered at the same time.

Being stared at by them, Lliw started having second thoughts, maybe he shouldn't do it, maybe he should Just mind his own Business. What did it have to with him how they chose to maintain themselves? Besides, what if they got upset?

" Hey!" All the thoughts raging inside Lliw's head were broken when Kim snapped her fingers by his face.

" seriously, what's wrong with you today? Why are you perpetually in a daze?" Kim asked concernedly.

" It's nothing" He repressed the urge to say those words- he wanted to know!

" Uhm, s-so… can I ask you guys a rather personal question?" He asked cautiously.

" Uhm… sure" Kim answered feeling a little strange.

" whew! Ok, but don't… take offense, alright?" He added.

" Sure, go ahead" Denise said interestedly.

" Alright, So I noticed that you girls are actually really… Good looking. So then why do you cover it up with all these?" He said as he pointed at their accessories.

"…"

The 2 girls were speechless at his question. They looked at each other, then back at him and then finally at each other.

"Hahahaahahahaha!!" The 2 girls laughed so hard they started tearing up.

" W-what's so funny?" Lliw asked feeling wronged. Had he said a joke?

Looking at his serious countenance, the 2 girls finally stopped laughing.

" Ahem, Lliw a simple 'thank you' will suffice." Kim Asherdown said.

" mm. You don't have to go out of your way to compliment us." Denise added looking at him like he had just said the most outlandish thing ever.

" huh? I'm not trying to compliment you" Lliw said quickly.

" Lliw, thanks but it's really unnecessary" Kim Asherdown instinctively pinched his cheek charmingly but then awkwardly retrieved her hand.

" yeah, now come on. Let's go, I'm hungry" Denise said while patting her flat belly.

" …" Lliw was speechless at the girls' lack of awareness.

Why are they so reluctant to accept that they're beautiful?

Lliw could only helplessly follow after them.

The three of them left the campus and went to one of the restaurants outside of the school.

It was a rather small restaurant with only a few seats but business was pretty good.

As they were about to order, Lliw's phone rang.

" Excuse me, I gotta take this" Lliw quickly excused himself and rushed outside.

He checked the caller ID and discovered that it was Jane, the She-Rex.
