Kaida came out of the bushes with Wyvern next to her.
"Kaida!" Tatsuya ran up to her. Ryoko and I ran too. We all stopped when we saw what Kaida was holding in her arms. It was something very interesting.
"Kaida, what are those things in your arms? Also, where did you wander off to?" Tatsuya asked her.
"Oh, these? I think they are dragon eggs. I found them when Wyvern woke me up and you guys were gone. I looked everywhere for you, I thought you left. Wyvern led me out of the camp to find you all. But I tripped on the dragon eggs. They were all alone, no nest or mother; nothing there. So I decided to take them with me." Kaida tittered as she put the two eggs down on her sleeping mat casually.
"Kaida, I told you not to take things that don't belong to you," Tatsuya told Kaida. "I know, but they would have been in danger if I didn't take them. Can I please keep them?" Kaida pleaded.
Tatsuya immediately objected, "No, we have a job to do." Kaida sat down on her mat next to the eggs.
"Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please," Kaida begged. Tatsuya rubbed the temples between her eyes.
"Fine, you can keep them. But if they don't hatch in the next 3 days, then you have to return them." Tatsuya nagged. She bent down to inspect the two eggs. One of the eggs started to wiggle back and forth. Tatsuya jumped back; the eggs started moving even more than before.
We heard a crack from the egg that glowed a scarlet orange color. We all stepped back, even Kaida but Wyvern came closer. The egg cracked more and more till a tail came out of the small crack.
"Are you sure that's a dragon egg and not a–" Ryoko questioned before he was cut off by my hand over his mouth. The egg opened slowly, and a blue head popped out. 'I guess Kaida is keeping the dragon eggs.'
The first thing it saw was Wyvern, of course. The dragon jumped on him and started chewing on his antlers playfully.
"I can keep them!" Kaida squealed. She pulled the small blue dragon off of Wyvern's head.
"Not yet, the other one hasn't hatched yet," Tatsuya interjected. That's when the other egg had a dragon jumping out and on Wyvern, too.
"I guess we didn't hear it moving." Ryoko speculated. I nodded in agreement; Tatsuya sighed.
"I am too tired for this, I am going to bed," Tatsuya stated as she crawled onto her sleeping mat.
"Hey, Kaida, what do you think you're going to name them?" I asked as I gently petted the blue one. The other was playing with Wyvern's tail.
"I was thinking Dalinda for the blue and Scylla for the purple." She says.
"Sorry to interrupt but Dalinda and Scylla are hungry." Ryoko boasted with a smug look on his face.
"Why do you say that?" Kaida asks with a puzzled look on her face. "Well, Dalinda is chewing on your hair and Scylla is chewing on Ayla's hair." He states.
"WAIT, WHAT!?" Kaida and I yell.
"Keep it down," Tatsuya hollered. We ignored it. I quickly pulled Dalinda off Kaidas's hair and a few strands of hair were still left in Dalinda's mouth. She chewed it down. Kaida helped me do the same for Scylla. Ryoko was on the ground laughing. We didn't find it a tad bit funny.
"Ryoko, you'll look after Dalinda and Scylla while Ayla, Wyvern, and I find food for them." Kaida snapped, sweeping herself off and standing up. I followed suit, dusting myself off. Dalinda and Scylla ran over to Ryoko and tackled him to the ground. He groaned in pain.
'I guess they catch up quickly and they're pretty strong.'
"Hey, I didn't sign up for dragon babysitting," Ryoko remarked.
"Whatever, just don't lose them." Kaida hisses as she walks off. She motions me to follow her. I turned around to say bye to them. I burst out laughing. Kaida turns around and starts laughing too.
"What's so funny?" Ryoko snarled.
"They're chewing on your hair!" Kaida and I giggle, trying to keep a straight face. Ryoko starts yelling, trying to pull them off. Tatsuya groaned. Kaida and I ran off into the forest, still laughing.
Kaida, Wyvern, I walked through a lot of bushes, shrubs, and tree vines.
"Kadia, what do dragons eat?" I asked as I ducked under a branch.
"I don't know, I guess we should have Wyvern look for some," Kadia replied.
"If I remember correctly I saw Wyvern eat some type of berry," I told her.
Her face lit up. "Do you know what it's called?" she asks.
"Well, Zaya said it is a Pichuberry and that's the only food dragons eat," I say.
"What do they look like?" She asks.
"They look like cherry tomatoes but they are orange when ripe and green when not ripe," I tell her.
"I guess we are going to find some pich berries," she says, happily skipping.
"It's Pichuberries," I told her. She ignored me and kept skipping.
"Well, the problem is that we don't know where to find them?" She asks with grief. Wyvern sniffed the air, then immediately tugged on her shirt, pulling her closer to the end of a ditch.
"KAIDA, WYVERN, WATCH OUT," I yelled as I tried to grab her before she fell off the cliff. It was too late, they fell. Wyvern was able to spread his wings and stop himself from falling. But Kaida wasn't so lucky.
"KAIDA ARE YOU OKAY?!" I yelled, looking over the cliff. It was dark. I heard her groan in pain.
"DON'T WORRY I'M FINE, I JUST HAVE A FEW MINOR SCRATCHES, IT WASN'T THAT DEEP. IT'S QUITE SHALLOW, DO YOU THINK YOU CAN COME DOWN HERE?" She yells back.
"I THINK SO," I replied. I slid down, watching my video below. Wyvern flew down with me; I got down safely. I see Kadia a bit beaten up but still standing on both of her feet.
"I found something while you were on your way down," She grinned as she pushed through some bushes to show me. A Pichuberry bush.
"Look I've found the pich berries." She gushed and smiled. I smiled.
"Kadia, we have a problem, we don't have a basket." I blurted.
'How were we going to gather the pichuberries?'
"I was so happy, I guess I forgot to grab one." Kadia sheepishly mumbled. We stayed there thinking for a while. Kadia, to no surprise, got bored. She was fiddling with a ball of water in the air controlling it with her hands moving it back and forth. Wyvern was snapping at the ball of water; she snatched it away before he could bite it. A thought popped up.
"Hey Kadia, is there a possible chance that your water bending can hold objects? I asked.
"Well, this is water flexing and I think it might be possible." She replied. I picked the pichuberries and held them in my arms. Kadia's water flexing engulfs the fruit one by one. Wyvern tried to bite some out of my hand.
"Bad, dragon!" Kaida scolded him. Making him stop and lower his head. I gave him a berry anyways and patted his head. Once we had enough berries to last us a full month, we were trying to find our way back.
We walked for a while until we met a split in the road.
"Which way do we go?" Kadia asks.
"I don't know," I responded. We sat down on the rocks thinking for a while.
"Didn't we camp north of the forest?" I exclaimed a little too loudly.
"Yeah, I think so?" She says, playing with the Pichuberries.
'On my last camping trip with my dad, he said if you ever get lost look for moss, they grow on the south side and opposite of that is north,'
I got up looking around for moss on some rocks or a tree.
"What are you doing?" She asked, concentrating on her ball of water.
"Looking for moss," I answered. I noticed Kadia sitting on a piece of moss.
"Kadia, you're sitting on moss," I stated.
"Oh really? No wonder it was so warm." She giggled. I walked over to inspect it. You could guess it was pointing south.
Kadia happily cheered and she skipped along the path the right path. Singing Pitch berries over and over again. At this point, there's no use in correcting her. About a couple of minutes later.
We reach camp, and we both see Ryoko sleeping with very slobbered hair. But both Dalinda and Scylla were as lively as ever. Scylla came running to tackle me down while Dalinda went flying for the pichuberries.
Luckily, Kadia moved them out of the way so she wouldn't spill them everywhere. I settled both of them down, after multiple squeals, and hair-pulling. Kadia put a few of the pichuberries on the ground, and Dalinda, Scylla, and Wyvern started eating without hesitation. Soon they were full and fell asleep. Kaida and I lay on our mats peacefully sleeping a while later.
