Power of NEO

Frisk's POV

Frisk made their way up the elevator, through the empty resort, and into the building known as the CORE. They kept their knife out, scanning the hallways for any monsters left.

"Thirty five left," the voice repeated, their red eyes gleaming.

"Must be hiding in the Core," Frisk muttered, scanning the area. Their soul appeared in front of them, making them skid to a halt. They turned around, knife drawn. A Froggit like creature stood against the wall, shaking as it fired flies at Frisk. They leaped out of the way.

"Final Froggit," the voice informed. Frisk slipped past a barrage of flies, knife pointed forward as they lunged at the Final Froggit. The shot pierced the Final Froggit's eye. It let out a cry, shifting in place as Frisk reached for the other eye and pulled it out. The eye shattered into dust. With one kick, the Final Froggit was knocked into the wall, splitting into thousands of pieces. The dust stuck to the wall. Frisk continued down the hall. Floating up to them, was a small humanoid figure with a pointy hat and glowing orbs for hands. It's face was turned up in a smile.

"Madjick." Frisk immediately sliced their knife through the monster's arms, cutting their hands off. The orbs fell to the ground and shattered into pieces. The Madjick let out a wail. Frisk lunged forward, slicing the knife through their waist this time. The dust covered Frisk's face like a mask. Next was a tall bulky figure with a face on its stomach, wielding a spear.

"Knight Knight." Frisk jumped directly up, slicing the knife across the Knight Knight's neck. A roar filled the air, echoing down the hall. Knight Knight's head lolled to the side. Frisk thrusted the knife forward, stabbing Knight Knight right in the stomach. Her form split into dusty pieces. Next was a Whimsun-like creature holding a double-edged spear.

"Whimsalot." Frisk swung at them, their blade only slicing the air. They glared at Whimsalot. Gritting their teeth, Frisk flung the knife at Whimsalot. It shot through them before sinking into the wall, trapping the Whimsalot between the handle and the wall. There was nowhere to go. Frisk shambled toward the Whimsalot, yanking the knife away from the already dusting form of the Whimsalot. Hitting the ground, the creature was now nothing but dust. Frisk continued on. Next was a Loox-like creature with one eye and stubby legs.

"Astigmatism."

"Pick on me!" Astigmatism exclaimed, holding its arms out. Oh, I'll pick on you alright. Frisk put their foot on top of Astigmatism, squishing it into the ground like snow. The monster let out a cry, before splitting into dust. Frisk twirled their knife around. Then they were off. This time they encountered a group of monsters, including a Final Froggit, Astigmatism, and a Whimsalot. None of them even landed a hit on Frisk. They hadn't even used their knife. They ripped out the Astigmatism's eye, tore the Whimsalot's wings off before stomping them into the ground, and finally, ripped the Final Froggit's legs off and beat it to death with them. Most of the monsters from then on were in groups. Some huddled in the corner, terrified as Frisk approached them with hunger in their eyes. Others squared up for a fight, only to be knocked down. By the time they had hunted down every monster, dust covered Frisk head to toe. They continued to the next room.

Frisk skidded to a halt only a few steps inside. Ahead of them, stood the rectangular robot from earlier beside Teri, who held what looked like a small blaster canon in her arms. She had ditched her usual tutu and pink shirt. Instead, she wore black pants and long black sleeves, and her hair was tied back with a black hair tie that was almost invisible among her frizzy hair.

"MY MY." Mettaton rolled forward, every tile on his 'face' an angry red. "SO YOU'VE FINALLY ARRIVED. AFTER OUR FIRST MEETING, I REALIZED SOMETHING GHASTLY. YOU'RE NOT JUST A THREAT TO MONSTERS, BUT HUMANITY AS WELL. OH MY, THAT'S AN ISSUE. YOU SEE, I CAN'T BE STAR WITHOUT AN AUDIENCE, AND BESIDES… THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE I WANT TO PROTECT." Frisk took a few steps forward, angling their knife at Mettaton.

The robot just laughed in response, though he moved his arm in front of Teri. "EAGER AS ALWAYS, EH?" Teri pushed Mettaton's arm aside. She stepped up beside him, aiming the blaster canon at Frisk. They lifted their knife. "WELL, THERE'S SOMETHING YOU HAVEN'T ACCOUNTED FOR. COME ANY CLOSER AND I'LL BE FORCED TO SHOW YOU…" Mettaton paused, probably for dramatic effect. "MY TRUE FORM!" Frisk took a step forward. "FINE THEN! READY?! IT'S SHOWTIME!" Bright light poured into the room, forcing Frisk to shield their eyes. Their soul appeared in front of their chest. Frisk removed their arm. The piercing light had disappeared, revealing a much more humanoid figure where Mettaton had previously stood. He was much taller, with sharp heels and shoulders where sharp, bright wings protruded from. A blaster cannon was attached to the end of his arm, replacing his hand. His hair was spiked to the side, revealing an empty socket where his right eye should've been. The blaster cannons aimed right at Frisk. Frisk leaped away from Teri and Mettaton's shots, landing right up against the wall. They glared at them, pulling out their knife.

"Get the robot first," the human beside them muttered. "The human won't stand a chance without him." Frisk nodded. Before they could move, another shot hit them square in the stomach. They were slammed into the wall. Frisk grunted, gripping their stomach as they charged at the pair. Something zipped across the ground. They skidded to a halt, gazing at the white, orange, and blue lasers that drifted toward them. Frisk jumped over the first laser, a blue one. Before they could jump again, however, an orange laser zipped through them, slicing through their stomach. They staggered in place. Before they could straighten out, a white laser rammed into them, knocking them onto their back. The lasers drifted above them as they laid on the ground. Something shot at them. Frisk threw themself to the side, narrowly avoiding a shot from Teri's cannon.

"You can't jump all of the lasers," the voice grunted. Frisk leapt to their feet, glaring at the line of lasers as they approached. The first was a blue one. Tensing, Frisk forced themself to stay in place. The laser passed right through them, as if they weren't even there. Frisk raised an eyebrow. However, they had no time to fixate on this as a line of orange lasers drifted toward them. Frisk leaped over the first laser. They shook as they landed on one foot. The next laser passed through them harmlessly, even as they shook in place. Quick as lightning, Frisk jumped a white laser. They dashed forward, stopping before blue lasers, running through orange lasers, and jumping over white lasers.

Another shot fired at Frisk's head. They swerved to the side, sliding through a white laser with a grunt. Blood poured from their stomach. Frisk gripped their wound, lunging over the last laser, knife gripped in their other hand. Mettaton and Teri were shooting wildly at them. Frisk jumped left and right, weaving around the shots as they dashed toward the pair. They swung their knife through the air. Mettaton and Teri stepped back, shaking as they stopped in front of the wall. Frisk grinned. As they dashed toward them, Mettaton's eye narrowed.

"TERI, GRAB MY HAND," he ordered, holding his hand out to her. Teri took his hand. Mettaton jumped up, pulling Teri close to him. Frisk lunged forward and swung their knife, only to slash the air. They looked up. Mettaton floated above them, his wings swaying slightly while Teri gripped his enormous shoulder blade. The robot ginned as a white circle appeared in his hand. He threw it down at Frisk. They leapt to the side, the object barely missing them. A bright light filled the room. Frisk was flung against the wall as a huge boom echoed through the room as well. Their skin blazed as they hit the floor. Frisk struggled to stand gazing at their arms which were red and charred. They fell to the floor again. Frisk struggled for a moment before the world went dark.

"You cannot give up just yet. Chara, stay determined!" Frisk's eyes popped open. They were outside the dark room, the burning feeling in their skin gone. A bomb! He threw a bomb at me!

Frisk marched back into the room, knife clutched in hand. Everything progressed as normal until Frisk neared Mettaton and Teri, making them fly away. The bomb fell again. Frisk leapt to the side, shielding their face with their arm as the bomb exploded. They glanced at Mettaton. More bombs appeared all around the flying figure. Frisk leaped side to side, dodging the bombs as they fell from the sky like rain. Finally, the bombs ceased. Teri shot at Frisk with her cannon, missing as Frisk jumped away. Something else began falling from the sky. Frisk weaved around the squares and mini lightning bolts. They pulled out their knife, slashing at the projectiles. The squares sliced into pieces. When Frisk swung at the lighting bolt, something shot through them. Frisk fell to the ground. Their body jerked and shook in random directions, and Frisk struggled to stop. Something shot into their stomach. Frisk grunted, forcing themself to their feet with one hand while gripping their stomach with the other.

They glared up at Mettaton and Teri. Bombs appeared in their hands, which they threw down at Frisk. They leapt to the side, dodging the first two bombs only to gasp as something seared through their stomach. Looking down, Frisk saw a line of lasers. They forced themself to stand still as a blue one drifted through them. A bomb exploded beside them. Frisk leapt away, ignoring the sting of a blue laser as they dashed through it. They jumped a white laser. Bombs exploded around them at every angle, forcing them to weave around them as they dashed through orange lasers, forced themself still in blue lasers, and jumped white lasers. Black and red marks began to cover their skin. A bomb exploded in front of them, forcing them to skid to a halt in front of an orange laser. Before it could approach, Frisk threw themself to the side. The orange laser passed through them. They jumped over a white laser, throwing themself on the ground to avoid the bomb. Frisk skidded to a halt in front of a blue laser. Before it could pass through them, a bomb fell into the laser, shooting through them like a bullet. Frisk had no time to shield themself as they were thrown across the room, slamming into the wall before flopping to the ground. Even after that, Frisk forced themself to stand.

"AFTER ALL THAT, YOU'RE STILL ALIVE?!" Mettaton exclaimed, pointing at Frisk. They ignored him, starting to weave through the lasers again. The attacks will only stop if I attack… but how? "WELL." Frisk glared at Mettaton and Teri, who had landed just in front of the back entrance to the room. "LET'S SEE IF YOU CAN SURVIVE THIS!" Teri and Mettaton pointed their weapons at Frisk. The tips began to glow, getting brighter and brighter as they shook like trees about to fall. A boom filled the air. The shot blasted at Frisk, the beam filling every corner of the room. With nowhere to run, Frisk was hit, their entire body blazing as it was slammed against the wall. For a while, they stayed there. Then finally, the guns ceased firing, allowing Frisk to fall to the ground. Everything went dark again.

"You cannot give up just yet. Chara, stay determined!" Frisk's eyes popped open. It was time for another attempt, and this time, they knew what to expect.

Teri's POV

Teri stood beside Mettaton, her cannon clutched in hand as she gazed at the open door. Frisk would be here any minute. And when they arrived, Teri was ready to fight to the death… or was she? She longed to see her father again. Though to her, it seemed like wistful thinking that she and Mettaton would be able to defeat Frisk. No one else, not even the Underground's greatest hero. NO! Stay positive! I'll definitely lose if I keep thinking I will.

A figure appeared at the door, the light casting off an object in their hand.

"MY MY." Mettaton spoke first, glaring at Frisk with a face of red tiles. "SO YOU'VE FINALLY ARRIVED. AFTER OUR FIRST MEETING, I REALIZED SOMETHING GHASTLY. YOU'RE NOT JUST A THREAT TO MONSTERS, BUT HUMANITY AS WELL. OH MY, THAT'S AN ISSUE. YOU SEE, I CAN'T BE STAR WITHOUT AN AUDIENCE, AND BESIDES… THERE ARE SOME PEOPLE I WANT TO PROTECT." Frisk took a few steps forward, angling their knife at the two of them. Teri's eyes narrowed.

Mettaton forced a laugh, holding his arm in front of Teri. Her eyes narrowed. "EAGER AS ALWAYS, EH?" Taking an arm off her cannon, Teri pushed Mettaton's arm aside, stepping up to stand beside him. She grabbed the cannon again, aiming it at Frisk. They lifted their knife. "WELL, THERE'S SOMETHING YOU HAVEN'T ACCOUNTED FOR. COME ANY CLOSER AND I'LL BE FORCED TO SHOW YOU… MY TRUE FORM!" Frisk took a step forward. "FINE THEN! READY?! IT'S SHOWTIME!" Bright light poured into the room. Teri and Frisk's souls appeared in front of them as Mettaton transformed. The light disappeared. A much taller robot stood beside Teri, with a blaster cannon at the end of his arm, similar to the one Teri had. His wings stretched out behind her, glowing like lamps. Teri pointed her cannon at Frisk, repeatedly pulling the trigger and pointing the shots in a line. Mettaton beside her did the same. Frisk slipped through each of the bullets, some barely scraping their skin. Anxiety gnawed at Teri's stomach.

Mettaton flicked his arm, and an array of blue, white, and orange lasers drifted across the ground, in front of the pair. Teri continued to shoot at Frisk as the lasers closed in on them. Frisk skidded to a halt. A blue laser drifted through them harmlessly. They continued to stop before blue lasers, dashed through orange lasers, and jumped over white lasers. It's like they've seen this all before! Frisk only got closer and closer, their knife raised beside their head. Teri shortly found herself against the wall. Mettaton stood beside her, shooting wildly as his wings bristled behind him. He cast a glance at the wings. Then looked at Teri.

"TERI, GRAB MY HAND," he ordered, extending his hand to her. Teri grabbed his hand without a moment's hesitation. Mettaton jumped into the air, pulling Teri close as he took off toward the ceiling, his wings swaying behind him. Flinging her arms around Mettaton's shoulder blade, Teri looked back at the ground. Frisk stood far below, gripping their knife. Bombs appeared in Mettaton's hand. He threw them down at Frisk while Teri covered the floor in an array of blasts. None of the attacks seemed to land a hit.

"WHY WON'T THEY DIE?!" Teri exclaimed, grabbing one of the bombs from Mettaton and chucking it toward Frisk's head only for them to dodge yet again. Mettaton growled, though nodded in agreement. He extended one of his arms out, making many different projectiles appear in midair. Some were mini forms of his box form, drifting toward the ground while throwing hearts, others were bland squares, and others were surges of electricity in the shapes of lightning bolts. All while Mettaton continued to throw bombs at the creature. Still, Frisk dodged. The projectiles ceased with a swing of Mettaton's arm. They were replaced with more lasers. Teri flinched as bombs appeared in her hands, though she quickly chucked one at Frisk. They jumped aside.

"AIM THEM AT THE LASERS," Mettaton murmured, tossing one toward a blue laser. The bomb exploded into beams, which went in four directions. One stabbed Frisk like a sword. Though they still stood, Teri could see blood trickling from their stomach. Her eyes narrowed. She and Mettaton chucked bombs at the lasers, making them explode all over the room. However, Frisk still dodged them. They weaved through the lasers, finding spots where the bombs would not hit them. Teri blazed with fury.

"AFTER ALL THAT, YOU'RE STILL ALIVE?!" Mettaton exclaimed, pointing at Frisk. The robot drifted toward the ground, allowing Teri to step down once he landed. They both aimed their cannons at Frisk. They hadn't even noticed, as they were focused on dodging the lasers. "WELL. LET'S SEE IF YOU CAN SURVIVE THIS!" Lights were forming at the ends of their cannons, shaking as they got brighter and brighter. A boom filled the air. The light finally came out in one concentrated beam. It shot at Frisk, filling every corner of the room with light as bright as the sun. Frisk slipped backward. However, they still stood up, glaring at the pair as they straightened up. Teri's eyes widened. Frisk forced a step forward. Then another. Teri could feel sweat forming in her hair as she struggled to keep the cannon aimed and fired. Mettaton beside her was beginning to pant.

The light began to dim, and the shaking of the cannons slowed even as Teri tried with every inch of being to keep it firing. Frisk took even more steps forward. The beam disappeared. Lifting their knife, Frisk charged toward the pair. Teri lifted her cannon. Frisk lunged forward, a horrible screech cracking the air as they slashed. Mettaton let out a gasp.

"G-GUESS YOU DON'T WANT TO JOIN MY FAN CLUB?" he asked, forcing a cheeky smile as he put a hand behind his back. A boom echoed through the room, and Teri was thrown against the wall. Light poured into the room. Once it disappeared, Teri forced herself to her feet. She let out a gasp. The place where Mettaton once stood was empty, with not even a scrap left of the robot. Tears poured down Teri's cheeks. No…

Footsteps echoed through the room. Teri whirled around, her eyes widening to see Frisk charging at her, knife raised. She lifted the cannon just in time to block Frisk's strike. Growling, she kicked Frisk in the stomach. They fell on their back. Frisk slashed again, chipping a piece of metal off Teri's cannon. She shot a beam at Frisk, shooting through their stomach. Barely flinching, Frisk slid past Teri, slicing their knife up. Teri's eyes widened. She gripped her stomach, dropping her cannon as she fell onto her side. Frisk glared down at her, their red gaze empty. Teri's eyes widened. They're already gone… Turning away, Frisk marched off. Teri pulled herself forward with one hand, gripping her stomach with her other hand. Grunting, she pulled the cannon into her arms. Through her hazy gaze, she glared at Frisk. She pulled the trigger. A shot fired at Frisk, who jumped aside at the last moment. Teri's grip faded. She fell back down, gripping her stomach as her world turned hazy. No one can stop them… Teri closed her eyes. My friends… I'm coming…
