I swallowed, wanting nothing more than to get back beside him and trace those lines with lips and tongue, but there wasn’t time.
“I’ll book a flight and be in Washington as soon as possible. Give me a number where I can reach you, and I’ll call you as soon as my flight touches down.”
“Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it.”
He rattled off a phone number, waited for me to repeat it, then said, “Don’t bother checking into a hotel. You won’t be here long, and I’ve got a spare bedroom. You can stay with me. I appreciate this. Consider us even.” He hung up.
I leaned over Remy and kissed the hinge of his dragon’s jaw. “I have to fly to DC to help a friend, sweetheart. Last night was…I have no words right now, beyond how very much I enjoyed it. I hope you did as well.”
