Land of decay
A great tragedy struck the village after that day. Families lost their breadwinners, wives lost their husbands, sisters lost their brothers, children lost their fathers and grandchildren lost their grandfathers all in the name of ' Kill the witch'. Their witch as they would call her lost both her parents that day and her entire family as well, they were all innocent but we're not spared. Jenny had left the orchard in no less than grey dusk. They villagers who watched everything that happened from the shadows of their hiding could remember every single scene of what transpired that day. They watched as some of the villagers dragged the family of the six year old girl, tied them to a tree and set them ablaze, how the little girl who they called a witch came out from the orchard bushes in tears that were as dark as the night itself, probably even darker than night and her eyes were even darker. Her eyes had flame reflection in them and it seemed as if all hell had broken lose. Everywhere her feet stepped on decayed instantly. Infuriated, she went on her knees, placed her hands to the ground looking right at the people who killed her family, everything began to decay. Those who tried to escape her wrath decay instantly. Their screams were all that could be heard. Those watching from a distance shivered with fear .
After she heard punished the people who killed her parents, she ran out of sight. No one knew where she had gone to since her home was also destroyed. The surviving villagers didn't leave their houses out of fear that the child was still there.
At dawn now, the damages could be seen even clearer. Everyone came out and went to to the orchard were everything took place. There was nothing but grey dust all over the ground, even the trees and grasses didn't survive. At that moment, a lot of people came to a realization that they had lot their families and others searched for theirs but didn't find them. There was mass mourning in the village for days. In those days and beyond they lived in fear knowing full well that she wasn't dead yet. They also had not heard anything about Jenny ever since she disappeared and knew that everything was far from over. She was going to return again. Some of the villagers prepared to leave the land to go somewhere far , where they would be safe but they weren't sure if they could but safe anywhere.
The children also came up with a name for her since they thought of her as a devil who came down in human form. They added an e to devil to make it Devile. They also gave it their own meaning if in case they were asked, they all gave the same meaning " A name given to a female devil".
With time, people no longer referred to her as a witch. She was now called Devile. They would tell everyone who asked of what happened that the girl is now referred to as Devile.
The village was renamed The land of decay afterwards seeing that the stain would never leave. The place where the girl had decayed, remained decayed. Every attempt to plant there had fail, not even grasses could grow. The area which symbolized decay was restricted, no one was allowed to go nor step on the land believing it to be a cursed land. The place was named Devile's wrath, DW. The story of the land was narrated to everyone who went in and out of the village and just like that history lingered all over the land.
