26: Zoe Lunaria

As the smoke cleared around the exploded palace, people ran and screamed in panic. Everything was destroyed by two overpowered beings. Amidst the chaos, a purple dragon surrounded by purple flames rose from the smoke, its giant figure shaking the entire place.

"Is he alright?" Cassey muttered to herself, staring at the massive dragon before her.

"He's Master Void! He will be safe..! Please stay safe, Master..." Arcane prayed silently.

"Ohh! What a beautiful dragon!" a voice echoed. As the smoke cleared, Void's grinning face emerged, already injured and bleeding from head to toe.

"Now, let me adjust myself for the final strike!" Void said, removing his gothic coat and folding his sleeves. The katana revolved around him as he unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his ripped abs and lean yet muscular body. His display made everyone stop in their tracks, forgetting they were in a battle.

(In this world, showing your chest and folding your sleeves is like a girl showing her bosom and her panties.)

"What do you think you're doing, you perverted brat!" the dragon, Zoe, roared. In her mind, she thought, "He's still not scared, even after getting all these bruises and bleeding from his whole body. How can he smile like that?" For Zoe, it was the first time seeing a man like Void.

"That's Maria's boy!" Rin said, engaged in combat with Winter.

"That boy really got balls, fighting my biggest asset like this and making her use her ugliest form... Huh!" Winter scoffed.

"Void! I knew my love wouldn't die this easily!" Aoi murmured, smiling while focusing on her opponents.

"I just hate you!" Cassey said, a smile playing on her lips, "but that's what makes you lovable!"

"I'm not done yet, Void!" Zoe, in her dragon form, declared, creating a giant flame ball. "Hellfire!" she shot the giant flame ball. "This is the end!"

"End is what I'm looking for!" Void said, getting back into stance. Taking a breath in, he released and said, "Chillerz!" As Void uttered the word, all the attacks, including the giant flame thrown by Zoe, shattered. The mana gathered at Void's katana.

"Freezing Edge!" Void swung his katana, sending a powerful strike towards Zoe. The strike moved at tremendous speed, double the velocity of her attack.

"What is wrong with this child..?" Winter murmured, shocked at Void's strength.

"No way.. It's impossible..!" Zoe exclaimed. Before she could react, the strike hit her. A strong sonic shock spread, causing many to lose consciousness.

As the dust and smoke cleared, Zoe was trying to catch her breath. She had a deep cut on her chest. Void walked towards her, his steps unsteady from the heavy combat. He came closer to Zoe.

"I, Zoe Lunaria, my father was a dragon, while my mother was a demon. Because I was half-dragon and half-demon, I was bullied and hated a lot by people, and ogled by men. There was only one person in my life who never treated me badly: my father..."

"Papa! How did you meet mother?" Little Zoe asked her father, playing on his lap. She was lost in her past.

"Hmm, how should I say? I was a wild and mindless dragon before, a very bad one! But one day your mother came to defeat me. Mama and Papa had a big fight!" Zoe's father said, playing with her hair while telling the story.

"Did you win?" Little Zoe asked, engrossed. Her father replied with a satisfied smile, "I lost!"

"But aren't you the undefeated dragon? How could you lose to mother?" Little Zoe asked. Her father hugged her and said, "Because I lost myself in love and found my soulmate, and now I am here!"

"I see, but how will I find my soulmate like Papa?" Little Zoe asked. Her father clenched his fist like an average father would, but calmed himself and said, "Remember, Zoe, the moment you lose even after using every inch of yourself, and even after all this if he doesn't end your life for no reason, that's your soulmate! Just like your mother."

Zoe snapped out of her flashback and saw herself in front of Void. She didn't say anything, just ran towards him and hugged him, tears streaming down her face. "I missed you... Father! I'm sorry! I wasn't able to take your revenge!" Zoe cried. Seeing no response, she pulled back, "Father…?" Zoe asked, realizing her father was disappearing.

"Father… Where are you going?" she tried to stop him but it was no use. "Don't go like this, Father.. Don't go.. For whom will I live if you go away again!" Zoe got on her knees, crying out loud. As her father faded away completely, he said, "There is someone waiting for you, dear! You can't leave like this after getting so close!"

"Father!" Zoe screamed as he disappeared completely. When it seemed everything had ended, she felt someone patting her head. Opening her eyes wide, she realized she was dreaming. The one patting her head was Void. She rubbed her head against his warm, ripped chest.

"I guess whatever you did was for some reason. It's the first time my katana stopped me. Because you didn't kill my people, I guess there's no reason for me to take your life," Void said, standing up and taking his katana in hand.

Zoe thought, "I see, Father! I really got my soulmate, Void Middletown. Thanks for helping me get my sight back!"

Just as it seemed everything was normal for a moment, a huge ice beam approached Void at tremendous speed.

Will Void be able to protect himself, or will the game end here? Will this new love story end so soon?
