Chapter 5: The Last Stand

In an underground bunker, Abigail and her family were at a table eating, with dozens of other families. Abigail barely touched her food, while her mom and dad scarfed theirs down. Abigail watched in disgust. 

Abigail said, "Is it that serious?"

Her dad looked at her food then at her and said, "You gonna eat that?"

"I hate broccoli."

Her dad slowly reached his hand towards Abigail's plate, then pulled it towards him. Her mom slid her plate to Abigail, and Abigail said, "Aren't you gonna eat?"

Her mom responded, "I don't have the appetite. Go head and eat."

"Oh, uh, okay."

Her mom looked at the dad and asked, "You seen the news earlier?"

"No what happened?"

"There's more wars happening down the east coast. They estimated only a week until maybe a post apocalyptic world."

"With everything going on, I wouldn't be surprised."

Abigail interrupted, "I hope we win."

"God will win."

Oil rig

Eastern sea

An hour later

4am in the morning

Holland keeps his eyes open as he lays in his bunk, listening to all the crewmates talk.

Holland had short light brown hair, peachy skin, and bright blue eyes. The crewmates were talking about a radio that could send out shockwaves, orchestrated by the military.

One of them said, "Wait guys wait, what if the government puts cameras in microwaves?? Like that makes sense right?"

"Bollocks. What illegal things could we be doing in front of a microwave?"

"Crack."

Everyone started laughing, even Holland chuckled a little bit. Holland realized he was running out of time. He sat up from his bed, yawned, stood up, and started walking to the right. He walked down the aisle of bunks, and a man was waiting for him.

Holland stopped at the mans bunk, and said, "Where is it Gro?"

"Here, I reckon you have a ride on the way?" Gro reached under his pillow, and pulled out the flashdrive, and handed it to Holland. 

"You sure this is it?"

"Go hook it up in the computer if you don't believe me."

"And you got this how?"

"Trust me it wasn't easy. But that doesn't matter now. You know no one here has a gun."

"I'm going to hook it up to a computer. Thanks for everything bud."

"Don't mention it."

Holland started walking away, and held the flash drive in his hand firmly. He reached the computer, pulled out the chair, and sat down. He looked around, then plugged the flash drive into the computer. The computer suddenly went black, and then turned back on again. Pictures and numbers and diagrams started popping up and Holland was shocked. Holland pulled out his phone and called Cindy. 

Cindy answered and said, "Do you have it?"

"Yes. And uh, I'm going to send you everything I'm seeing."

"Put it on video call so me and Cage can take a look at it while we still have time."

Holland took the phone off his ear and put it on video call, then turned the phone towards the screen.

Cindy said, "Oh my god."

Cage said, "Oh no."

Holland said, "He's took kids from around the globe, if they don't pass the experiment, they die."

The pictures on the screen showed dead civilians, diagrams of nukes, and much more.

Cindy said, "He can't build the nukes without these blueprints."

Cage replied, "This is it. This is what he planned. Official world dominance. He was planning to attack the White House."

Cindy said, "Nice work Holland. Send us all the contents of the drive to our google drive, then destroy it, throw it in the water or something."

Holland replied, "Got it. Sending it now." 

Holland hung up, and began sending the drive over to them, clicking and scrolling on the computer, dragging files and copying them. He finally sent the file successfully, Cage and Cindy had it in their possession. Holland let out a great sigh, and leaned back in his chair smiling. 

Seconds later, there was yelling outside the computer room; Holland quickly got up from the chair, and rushed outside the room. Everyone was hurrying to go up to the top deck, Holland rushed up there as well. They all made it up to the top deck, and Haines was up there, pointing a gun at Gro's head. 

Haines repeatedly asked him, "Where's my drive?"

Gro said, "It doesn't need to be in your possession. Do what you want."

Holland took the drive out his pocket and slightly tossed it in the water. Haines eyes drifted slowly at Holland. Holland stared back. Haines pointed his gun at Holland and shot him in the chest twice. Holland fell to the ground, and all the crewmates attacked Haines and his body guards. It was a fist fighting brawl on the top deck. Everyone punching each other, slamming each other, and throwing each other off the rig.  

Haines yelled to his guards, "Engage!"

His guards started shooting the defenseless crewmates dead, one by one they dropped, and Haines let out a smile. Holland was still alive, with Gro sliding a grenade to him. Holland nodded, sat up, pulled the pin, and smiled at Haines.

"Go to hell."

Haines started to try to run off the rig, until the grenade detonated, and the rig started to blow up. Parts and bits flew into the water, and fire had blazed up high in the sky. The rig was left in flames and no one was left alive.

Three hours later at the safehouse, with the sun shining brightly, Jasiah, Donnie, Keslan, Rachelle, Brandon, Leah, Kayla, Cindy, Cage, and Tank were outside on the air pad sitting in chairs laughing and talking with one another before heading to Texas. 

Donnie asked, "Okay okay I got one, Superman vs Thor?"

Tank said, "Thor. Easy."

Kayla replied, "Yo, Superman would wipe the floor with Thor."

Jasiah said, "Obviously Thor."

Leah said, "Thor. Mostly because he has the hammer."

Keslan replied, "Superman obviously. The man's made of steel. What is Thor made of?"

Cindy said, "He does have a point."

Everyone was laughing and talking with each other more. 

While everyone was talking amongst themselves, Cage looked at Cindy and said, "You look cool in the soldier outfit."

Cindy responded, "Stop lying. Really?"

"Yes really, like you look amazing."

"Ew, your such a simp," Cindy laughed, and Cage laughed also.

"Welp this is it."

"Yep it is."

"Your going to be high in an enemy infested building sniping, while Jasiah and his team are going to be storming the beach, and I'm going to be in a van controlling manual and automatic weapons and drones."

"Dang I forgot we were gonna be split up."

"Yeah, if ONLY-,"

"Fine. Yes. Only if we make it out alive together

"How did you know I was gonna ask you out?"

"Cause you are pretty corny."

Cindy and Cage laughed together again.

Jasiah looked at Keslan beside him and said, "So, admit it."

Keslan looked curious and asked, "Admit what??

"You and Kayla are a thing."

"You forgot about my fiance back at home?"

"You think she made it to the bunkers?"

"I haven't seen her since we left. I hope she made it out of Texas. I called hella times last night but she didn't answer."

"Don't worry we'll find her."

"I remember when you first met her. She hated you."

"Which I didn't even know why hahah."

"She didn't like the fact that me and you were close. Then I hadda explain everything to her, and she grew out of it. She asks how you're doing from time to time."

"Aww how sweet," They both laughed.

Minutes later, hundreds of soldiers started leaving the Safehouse, and began running to the choppers. Jasiah and his team stood up as Rachelle spoke.

She said, "We came a long way together. Been through hell and back. Today is the last stand, what we do today will change the world forever. I pray God wins this fight for us, It was an honor calling you guys family."

Brandon yelled, "OOAH!"

Everyone else yelled, "Ooah!"

Rachelle said, "Okay, me and Jasiah's squad are storming the beaches so we'll be in plane 13. Cindy will be sniping so she'll be in plane 62. Cage will be outside the battle zone controlling our torrents and drones he'll be going to chopper 7. Let's move out!"

Everyone started saying good luck to each other, and began running to their assigned planes and chopper.

On the way to Texas, Shaw was an hour away from it, while Jasiah and his team were 1 hour away. Shaw was riding in a convoy, with the German President's daughter, Summer, in the back seat, tied up and bloody. 

Shaw said on his walkie talkie, "Aderan, are all defenses posted on the outskirts of the beach?"

"Yes sir."

"Good. I know the Americans will storm the beaches as a potential entry."

"Sir, we uh, have a problem."

"Spit it out."

"There's incoming forces to the west of us. And it's not the Americans."

"It must be Samantha and her army. Levine never told me they were coming. How far out are they?"

"Ehh, about an hour they will be on arrival."

"Good, looks like we're gonna have a little stand off."

Summer in the backseat said, "You are going to die. I hope Jasiah kills you in front of me."

Shaw responded, "Poor German girl. We all know he's not going to do that."

"I heard you crying yesterday. Is Haines in hell?"

Shaw laughed, then turned around and slapped Summer across the face. The driver just looked and continued to drive with a straight face.

Shaw said, "You know your father didn't have to die. He was in a bad place at the wrong time."

"Funny. It's funny how you knew exactly where I was."

"Lucky guess am I right?"

"What do you even expect to get done here? Killing tons of innocent people since the start of this war only added to the death toll."

"You see, everyone wants leadership. Everyone wants to feel dominant. What I'm doing is right. The world is going to become a better place."

"Jesus."

"DON'T YOU SAY THAT NAME IN HERE!!"

Jack and Dudnean were in a battle room, with computers everywhere, people running around with papers, and a big set of screens watching over Texas.

Jack looked at someone and said, "Give me a visual on the beaches."

"Yes sir." The man used some sort of remote to control the large screen in the front. The camera switched fast to the beaches.

Jack examined the screen and said, "Samantha is headed towards here as well. She must want the EMP."

Dudnean replied, "Good we have them all in one place. Makes the hunting quicker."

"Samantha could be anywhere. And plus we wait to make a move until Jasiah talks with her."

"If she escapes, that's on you, not me."

"Trust me, she won't. Well I hope not. I know she won't leave without the device."

55 minutes later, Shaw, Samantha, and Jasiahs team were approaching the middle of Texas. Samantha was in a gunship in the sky along with Toma and Levine watching over everything, giving commands left and right. Jasiah, Leah, Keslan, Rachelle, Brandon, Donnie, Tank, Mitchell, Kayla, and hundreds of other soldiers were riding in small inflatable boats on the sea that could hold up to four people at once. There was hundreds of inflatable boats on the water filled with American soldiers and Jasiah's team.

The water splashed everywhere, Keslan had his hands over his face trying not scream in fear.

Jasiah looked at Keslan, Keslan said, "This..is like D - Day all over again isn't it?"

"We'll get through this. As brothers."

Keslan responded, "As brothers."

Cindy was dropped off on a roof, she planted both feet on it, grabbed her sniper out the chopper, and started going inside the building. Cage was dropped off at a distance away from the battle. He stepped near a large van, opened the doors, and climbed in. He smiled at all the gadgets he saw.

Shaw's men on the top of the beach saw the Americans.

One of them shouted in a Russian accent, "Here they come! Engage!"

Russian soldiers started firing bullets, missiles, and mortars. 

Jasiah yelled, "Get your heads down now!"

Missiles started blowing up boats on the water, and bullets from machine guns and automatics were ripping the American soldiers to pieces. Blood started filling the water, and bodies were floating down them. Jasiah and his team had their heads down as bullets were smacking the water. A couple more boats blew up into flames, and Keslan was covering his ears. In the middle of the Texas battlegrounds, Samantha's soldiers, and Shaw's soldiers were fighting. Fighter jets in the sky were shooting each other down, and soldiers were falling from the sky in parachutes. 

Jasiah yelled, "Don't engage until we get on shore, there's more cover there!"

Jasiah was actually pretty scared, probably the fifth time he's feared for his life. He knew he wasn't invincible, but he knew was capable of surviving. The only thing he wants right now is for Shaw and Koleji to be dead. And to live to see another day. Still laying down in the boat while enemies were shooting at them, he started to think about all the wrong things he's done, and how many people he's hurt. A tear ran down Jasiah's face, and he kept trying to keep his cool. 

More boats blew up, and more enemy bullets killed more soldiers on the water.

Cindy, up in a high building, was sniping down at enemy soldiers, killing them simultaneously. 

The boats started to approach the shore, and the Russians gave everything they got. 

American soldiers started jumping out the boats, heading to shore, most of them were killed, some of them made it to cover. 

Rachelle yelled, "Okay, keep your heads down! Get out of the boats, now!"

Rachelle, Jasiah, Leah, Keslan, Mitchell, Kayla, Brandon, Tank, and Donnie hopped out the inflatable boats, and they all were underwater. Jasiah started swimming with everyone else, he made it to shore, and he instantly ran behind cover. He was behind a large rock, he peeked beside it to the see the enemies, and started shooting at them. He killed four of them that were manning the mortar station. There were so many ally soldiers on the beach, Jasiah couldn't see where his squad was. A mortar landed beside Jasiah and he flew far to the left, smacking the ground hard. His ears were ringing, and his forehead was bleeding. He struggled to get up, but he was in pain. 

Out of the Blue, Rachelle ran up to Jasiah, grabbed the front of his vest with one hand, dragged him, and threw him behind another rock. She was shot in the shoulder, fell on her knee, grunted, then went to go take cover beside Jasiah. 

Jasiah yelled to her, "Where is everyone else?"

Rachelle yelled back, "Haven't seen them since we jumped out the boats! They'll show up!"

More missiles and mortars landed on the beach, killing more American soldiers.

Jasiah looked into water closely, and saw Kayla dragging Donnie's dead body out the water. 

Jasiah stood up, and ran towards her. Rachelle shook her head, turned towards the enemy, and was shooting. Jasiah ran at Kayla, and tackled her out the way of an incoming mortar. The mortar shell landed near them, and dirt and ash spread everywhere. 

Kayla looked at Jasiah and said, "Donnie is..Donnie is dead..I wanna go home."

Jasiah responded, "We can't go home! There's no turning back. We have to end this today!! Don't you want that?!"

Kayla nodded.

Jasiah added, "Now let's go!"

Jasiah and Kayla got off the ground, and began running up the beach. Rachelle ran upwards too, pulled out smoke grenades and tossed them everywhere. They made it to another set of rocks, that were lined up like a line. 

More soldiers were getting killed or blown up, and Texas started to look more like an abandoned city by how destroyed it looked. Jasiah stopped shooting and reloaded his rifle. It was quite a distance from where they were to the top of the beach. 

Rachelle said, "I got two smokes left!"

Jasiah said, "I got four."

Leah was dragging wounded soldiers behind a rock, tending to them. Jasiah saw and called put to her, she didn't hear. The sky was dark grey and dark blue, but dark smoke filled the air. Keslan and Mitchell appeared together, and they were running behind cover. Jasiah saw, and let out a great sigh. Brandon and Tank were already heading towards the top of the beach, and jumped to cover right away when they saw an enemy tank. The Russians were still shooting down below at the Americans, shooting mortars, and shooting rockets. 

Jack got on the radio and said to Jasiah, "We have Valkyrie on the way to clear the top of the beach for you. Once you get up there, head right, then head back to the middle, back on the path of getting to the museum."

Jasiah replied, "Jack! We know Shaw is headed there right? Just in case, we have to cut him off if he beats us there to it."

"Trust me, the way the jets are fighting in the sky, it's changing the course for him."

"Good. Everyone regroup!"

Tank responded on comms, "Good idea."

Mitchell and Keslan were shooting at the enemy, and Mitchell was shot in the chest and stomach. He fell to the ground and Keslan went down to check on him. Keslan tried picking Mitchell up, but Mitchell was smacking Keslan's hands away. 

"I got it I got it thank you very much! Let's go square!"

Mitchell stood up on his feet fast, and started running towards Jasiah, Keslan followed. Leah was running towards Jasiah as well, shooting at the bad guys at the same time. 

More American soldiers were still hopping off the boats ready to engage, mortars and missiles continued to crush them. 

Valkyrie's jet raced across the beach, did a circle, then started shooting bullets and missiles onto the top of the beach where the enemy was at. The Russian soldiers were getting destroyed, bits and pieces of them flew everywhere.  

Valkyrie got on comms and said, "Top of the beach is cleared, but you have hostiles flanking the right and the middle towards the objective."

Rachelle replied, "It's fine thank you! We'll take care of them."

Brandon got on comms and said, "Everyone off this beach, get to the top now go!"

Everyone including Jasiah and his squad, started running up the beach, while holding their guns. 

They made it to the top of the beach, and there were enemy soldiers running to the right, retreating. 

Brandon yelled, "Kill them all! We don't have enough time! Push through!"

Jasiah and his squad were running to the right as well, shooting down the retreating enemies. The atmosphere looked dead, destroyed planes on the ground, a destroyed bus, blown up cars, and dismantled tanks. Jasiah and his team got to cover, as enemy soldiers were taking cover across from them. The shooting continued, Leah sat up and killed two enemies before reloading her gun. Rachelle moved to the left to a different spot of cover as she shot at the enemies across.

Inside a building, Cindy was still sniping enemy targets down. She stood up and ran to another part of a window, she stopped, aimed, and saw the German president's daughter, Summer, being tied up in a chair.

Cindy got on comms and said, "Everyone, they have the German President's daughter held up in the Ammon Building."

Rachelle said, "That's right in front of the Museum. We have to hurry."

Brandon replied, "We'll have to cut through the building and pick her up on the way. Nice work Cindy."

Keslan started sliding down a large hole made by a mortar shell, and fell on his face. Jasiah and Leah ran out of cover and ran forward. The enemies were shooting tons of rounds at his team, bullets ripped every piece of cover there was. Kayla ran up behind Keslan, and used one hand to drag him to his feet. Mitchell looked to a building and saw enemies in them shooting. 

Mitchell yelled, "Enemies in the buildings up ahead!"

The whole team was shooting down enemies while jogging, and they were getting shot at back. They got behind a wall, and they were breathing like they just ran 8 miles without stopping.

Jasiah got on comms and said, "Cindy, there's enemies in the buildings across from you, we're heading that way and we need cover. Can you snuff em' out?!"

Cindy replied, "Roger that. Still no sign of Shaw."

"Don't worry. We'll get him. Everyone move up and spread out!"

Jack got on comms and contacted Cage, saying, "Hey Cage."

Cage replied, "Yes sir?"

"Activate the drones, and go to work."

"Got it."

In the van, Cage was doing a lot of typing and plugging up. He was finally in the system to control the drones.

Jasiah and his team spreaded out across the battlefield, en route to the Ammon building. RPG rockets from buildings began to hit the ground, blowing up soldiers and vehicles. Jasiah slid behind a destroyed tank, as bullets banged upon it. Jasiah stood up, and shot at the soldiers taking cover across from him. Leah slammed an enemy soldier's head into the ground, and shot it. Russian soldiers saw her and shot at her, she ran out the way. Rachelle and Kayla were moving up together, shooting and being shot at. Keslan tacked a bad guy down a set of steps, pulled out his knife, and stabbed him. 

The Russian soldiers were moving back, as some of them stayed and shot at Jasiah and his team.

Shaw was already in the museum, walking through it looking for the Galzar EMP device. 

Shaw got on his radio, and said, "Dmitri, use them now."

"Are you sure sir? We still have men down here and including you."

"Do it."

"Okay but it's gonna take a few minutes to start up."

"Just do it."

Jasiah ran forward, dodging bullets, and keeping his head down. Starlight 1 and Starlight 2, ally tanks on Jasiah's team, came bursting through a brick wall.

Rachelle yelled, "Move with the tanks let's go"

The Starlight tanks started rolling down the middle path, shooting shells at everything hostile. Rockets flew past the tanks, and some hit the ground near them. The enemy soldiers kept shooting, and bullets smacked everywhere. At the end of the path, there was a road that went straight to the left, at the end of that road, there was barbed wire set up.

Brandon yelled, "Everyone keep moving forward!"

The fight got more intense, as planes were getting shot down, soldiers on all 3 sides were getting killed, gunshots flaring all over the place, and the sky was still dark bluish grey. Jasiah, climbed on top of the tank, once he fully got on, he was literally shooting and killing all the enemies in the buildings. Mitchell jumped over a car, and bad guys shot at him. Mitchell rolled out the way, then started shooting back. Leah was reloading her rifle behind a large flower pot. She looked down at her hip, and saw blood coming out. She was shot. 

Leah toughened up, got to her feet, and continued to press forward. Jasiah was still shooting down enemy soldiers while riding on the tank. Inside the tanks, American soldiers were setting up the mounted minigun. Rachelle took cover behind a dumpster, as enemy soldiers sprayed rounds at her. Brandon rushed beside Rachelle, and they both started pushing the steel dumpster forward, deflecting all enemy bullets. 

Cage's drones began to fly around, killing bad guys on the ground and some in the buildings. Cindy was running to another part of the building, laid down, and began sniping again. 

In the sky, Valkyrie was in a dogfight with 2 enemy jets. They swooped behind buildings, trying their hardest to shoot down Valkyrie. She flew under bridges, gaps in buildings, as enemy missiles sped past her. Valkyrie pulled her steering handle back, and her jet did a long backflip behind the enemy jets. She started shooting, and her bullets were shredding the enemies. They tried to escape but she chased them in the sky, blasting missiles in their direction.

Jasiah and his team stopped at the barbed wire, Rachelle said, "Regroup on me behind the tank!"

Jasiah was already with Rachelle; Mitchell, Kayla, Brandon, Keslan, Tank, and Leah moved behind the tank. 

Rachelle said to them, "We're only 20 minutes away from our destination. But we found a shortcut that could get us there in less that amount."

Brandon said, "And where is that?"

 "Past this barbed wire, through that parking garage."

Mitchell replied, "It could be crawling with hostiles."

"There's hostiles everywhere. We don't have a choice."

A sniper shot went off, and Tank was hit in the head. Tank fell to the ground, his body was lifeless. 

Mitchell yelled, "Tank!!!"

Kayla and Mitchell started tending to Tank, as everyone else was trying to spot the sniper. 

Jasiah looked at the wide building ahead, the building that was sitting on top of the parking garage. Jasiah spotted the sniper, and quickly got down. 

Jasiah got on comms and said, "Cindy, you got eyes on him?"

She replied, "I see him."

Cindy took a deep breath, and shot. The bullet smashed through the window, and killed the enemy sniper.

Cindy got back on comms and said, "He's down. I'm moving buildings."

Mitchell was kneeling over Tanks dead body, and was crying, shaking him to wake back up. Kayla and Keslan had to drag him away. Jasiah showed a sign of despair by balling his fists, and shedding a tear. First Triston, then Donnie, then Tank, all dead.

Brandon said, "We aren't honoring them by standing here. We stay, we die. We have to move."

Rachelle said, "There are enemy soldiers running into the parking garage, everyone get on the tanks. Keslan, Mitchell, get on and man the miniguns, let's go!!"

Everyone started to climb on the tanks, seconds later, the tanks started rolling out, driving over the barbed wire, and heading towards the parking garage. 

Texas was still a warzone, and the destruction and brutality got worse. 

Rachelle said, "Kill everyone you see!"

On the tank, Leah was sitting beside Jasiah on top, and they were both shooting and killing enemy soldiers that were trying to go inside the parking garage. Rockets hit the buildings, and rockets flew past the tanks. Both tanks were inside the garage, shooting shells at retreating bad guys. Keslan was spraying the mini gun everywhere, blowing up cars, and wrecking the bad guys. Kayla and Brandon were shooting the Russians who were hiding behind cars. A rocket hit the wall, and a couple cars blew up with it. 

Cage's drones were in a fight with some soldiers outside the parking garage on the other side. 

Cage got on comms and said, "Rachelle, there's a hell of an amount of enemies outside the garage."

Rachelle replied, "Okay. If Valkyrie is still in the air she can give us a gun run. You just keep suppressing them with the drones. Buy us some time."

"Yes ma'am."

Cindy was outside, running across the street  to another building. An enemy jet spotted her, and shot bullets and missiles at her. She ran faster, and jumped through a window. When she hit the floor, she saw 2 bullet holes in her thigh. She screamed, and started panicking. She ripped a piece of her shirt off, and wrapped the piece around her thigh, and applied pressure to it. Tears and mud ran down her face as she endured the pain. In the parking garage, the tanks were still moving and shooting, and Jasiah and his team were still killing bad guys. 

Suddenly, a rocket hit the ground near Jasiahs tank, and the tank crashed 2 floors down. Rachelle's tank kept going as she looked back and yelled, "Starlight one?! Starlight one can you hear me?!"

Minutes later, Jasiah was getting off the ground, grabbing his gun along with it. He walked over, and began helping Leah up.

He asked, "Are you ok?"

Leah replied, "I'm...I'm fine."

Keslan was getting out of the tank, and Jasiah rushed to help him. 

Keslan said, "The drivers are dead. Both of them."

Keslan hopped off the tank, and stared at Jasiah and Leah.

He said, "Aww."

Leah and Jasiah said together, "Aww shut up."

Leah said, "There's the exit to the other side, up there."

Jasiah responded, "Then let's go."

The three of them started jogging forward, and Keslan randomly said, "Ahh, the three stooges are back."

Leah replied, "They missed our presence."

On the way to the exit, three jeeps filled with Samantha's men pulled up. They got out the jeeps and started shooting at Jasiah, Leah, and Keslan. 

Jasiah and his team got to cover, and so did the enemy. There were fifteen enemy soldiers, shooting without holding back. 

Jasiah pulled out a flashbang/stun grenade.

Leah asked, "What are you doing?"

"We don't have a lot of time, when they're stunned, shoot them down."

Jasiah tossed a flashbang, and it stunned the enemy. Jasiah, Leah, and Keslan hopped over a car, and began shooting, killing them all. 

Jasiah said, "Okay, let's get out of here."

The three of them started running up the ramp towards the exit of the garage. When they made it out, it was a large scale battle going on. Rachelle, Mitchell, Brandon, and Kayla were pinned down by Russian forces. 

Kayla turned around and saw Jasiah, Leah, and Keslan.

Kayla yelled, "They're here!"

Rachelle turned to look behind her, seeing Jasiah and his team.

Rachelle said, "Push up the street the target building is all the way down there!"

Starlight 2 was moving up, still shooting shells at bad guys, there were at least 40 ally American soldiers fighting alongside Jasiah and his squad. Jasiah moved up the street, shooting down enemies, one by one. Grenades and rockets were blowing up parts of the area. Brandon was behind a rectangular brick flower garden that stood five feet high. 

Mitchell shot down an enemy soldier, then said on comms, "There's too many of them!"

The enemy soldiers were shooting with aggression, moving up on the Americans. Leah slid between an enemy soldier's legs, turned around and shot him in the back countless times. 

Jasiah took cover behind a car along with Keslan, and contacted Valkyrie.

Jasiah said, "Valkyrie. I count a hundred soldiers in front of us, we need you!"

Valkyrie responded, "I was waiting for you guys to need me again. On my way. I advise you guys get to some overhead cover."

Jasiah yelled, "Everyone, find some overhead cover!"

While the shooting and explosions were still going on, Jasiah and his team kept their heads down as they moved to a half destroyed building, infested with hostiles. They jumped inside and the enemy soldiers shot at them. Jasiah dove behind a desk, as enemy bullets smacked everywhere. Leah pushed through, and was shooting down enemies, then she moved behind a wall for cover. 

Rachelle yelled, "Hold this office until Valkyrie arrives!"

Enemy soldiers tried climbing inside the partly destroyed office. But Jasiah was shooting them dead. Mitchell dove out the way as a rocket flew inside and hit the wall. Smoke and dust was everywhere, Keslan was behind cover, stood up, and was shooting outside at the enemy. The bad guys were shooting with force, their bullets were killing the ally soldiers, and their bullets ripped the room apart. Kayla was crawling on the floor, avoiding getting hit by any bullets. Leah got beside Jasiah, and helped him kill the incoming enemy soldiers outside. Rachelle was shooting down the enemy outside, as they shot at her back. She was hit in the collar bone, and she fell to the floor, Brandon saw, and ran to her. Then, Brandon was shot in the back and cheek. He fell to the ground too beside her, but they were both alive.

Jasiah was taking cover reloading his gun, and Leah did the same. An enemy soldier quickly hopped in the room and shot Jasiah while he was reloading. Leah pulled out her pistol and shot the enemy in the head. Leah quickly turned her attention to Jasiah, as his chest was bleeding. 

Leah said, "Jasiah, Jasiah, please stay with me."

Jasiah looked at Leah and said, "We're gonna be fine, we gotta...kill Shaw."

The bullet barely missed Jasiah's heart, but he was still capable of fighting. Enemies were still shooting inside that room, shooting rockets and everything. 

Cage's drones were shot down, and Cage started to worry.

Cage contacted Jack, and reported, "Jack, my drones are offline."

Before Jack could answer, A gun was pointed at the back of Jack's skull. The man holding the gun, was Dudnean. Everyone in the battle planning room stopped what they were doing. 

Jack said, "Dudnean your not thinking. Put the gun down.'

"You think Shaw won't win? Who do you think was telling Shaw our every location?"

"You're gaining nothing from this. You think Shaw will give you a cut? As soon as he see's you your dead."

"What you're gonna do, is give me the ingredients Holland sent to Cindy and Cage."

"You're not getting them. And even if you did get them, you won't be getting out of here alive."

"Wrong answer. I always hated you anyway."

Dudnean pulled the trigger, and the gun clicked. Dudnean looked confused, and Jack grinned and began to turn around. 

Jack said, "You see, I've had my eye on you for awhile. We all knew you were working with Shaw, a lot of times you tried to throw us off track, but luckily, we had Cindy and Cage to correct you. Oh yeah, and I took the bullets out of your gun this morning."

Jack pulled his own gun out and shot Dudnean in the stomach twice. Dudnean staggered back, his back hit the wall, and he slid down to the floor, bleeding out, with his life draining from him.

Dudnean said, "Help..me."

Jack looked at him and said, "That was actually a dumb thing for you to do. No, your gonna sit there, and bleed to death."

Back in Texas, Jasiah and his team were still holding off swarms of enemies. Everyone was wounded, and everyone was low on ammo. 

Shaw, still walking around the empty museum, contacted one of his jet fighters and said, "Trace the drones, and kill the man operating them."

"We found him already. Killing him now."

In the van, Cage was still trying to get more drones in the sky. An enemy jet was headed towards Cage at that moment. 

Cage contacted Cindy on comms and said, "Cindy."

Cindy replied, "Cage?"

"Fighter jets are headed towards me."

"Cage get out of there!"

"I can't escape this. I can't escape this. Win this war for me."

"Cage no! Cage!"

The enemy fighter jet shot two missiles at Cage's van, the van was destroyed, along with Cage. Cindy heard the destruction and the scream of Cage. She started to burst into tears, screaming her lungs out, breathing faster than ever. 

She kept repeating, "I'm sorry for bringing you into this...I'm sorry for bringing you into this."

Cindy was posted up in the building, crying her eyes out, laid up against the wall, listening to the gunfire and explosions outside.

Jasiah and his team were outnumbered, as they kept shooting down the bad guys approaching the office. 

Valkyrie got on comms and said, "Stand by for a gun run."

Rachelle yelled, "Everybody get down!!!"

Everyone in the room got down, as Valkyrie started spraying a hell of gunfire and rockets at the enemies in front of the office. Enemy soldiers were getting dismantled, bodies flying everywhere, dirt spacing out, and fire racing to the sky. 

It was silent for a few minutes, then Jasiah and his team started slowly getting to their feet. 

Rachelle was leaning against the wall and said, "Come on….the building is just up ahead…"

Everyone had bullet holes in them, besides Keslan. They started walking out the office, hanging onto each other, limping down the road. 

Shaw contacted Dmitri again and asked, "Is it ready?"

"Yes sir."

"Launch it."

From space, a large rocket missile was charging up, the same ones that took out Texas in the beginning. But this one was more destructive. Less destructive than a nuke. The rocket was shot, and it was speeding down faster than the speed of light down to earth. It smashed through the atmosphere and was gonna hit directly in the middle of Texas.

While Jasiah and his team were still making their way to the building, a strong wind blew. They all noticed it, and Jasiah kept his guard up as his body was healing. The rocket hit the middle of Texas, and a large cloud of fire and gas rushed into a circular motion in the sky where everyone could see it. The ground was shaking and the smoke from the rocket was expanding. 

Rachelle yelled, "Run!!!!" 

They tried to run, but the destructive smoke cloud from the rocket caught them. They hit the ground, and they were unconscious. All was silent, the impact from the rocket also disabled all jets and aircraft in the sky, making them crash to the ground or in a building. The shooting ceased, and there was no noise.

45 minutes later, Jasiah started to open his eyes slowly, too weak to do anything right now. He felt his hands tied up, and realized he was tied to a chair. He looked around him, and he saw Summer, Brandon, Leah, Keslan, Rachelle, Mitchell, and Kayla tied up chairs too. Barely any light was shone in the dark room. Everyone was awake, and Shaw was standing in the middle of the room, holding a gun, with guards at every corner of the room. Rage began to fill inside Jasiah, but he hid it well. 

Shaw started to speak, "Rise and shine kids. Now, I'm impressed. I mean, how did you even manage to make it up here alive?"

Kayla said, "Most of us didn't you bastard!!"

Shaw laughed, turned to Kayla, and put a bullet in her forehead. The chair didn't budge, but her head dropped down, lifeless.

Keslan yelled, "No!!"

Rachelle was tearing up, and Leah was silently crying.

Shaw continued, "Anyone else want to interrupt? Good. Now like I was saying, you all did this just to come up here, and die? Where's your dignity? You lost hundreds of soldiers on that beach, just to fail. Jasiah, can save us all. All he had to do, was come with me, and none of this would've ever happened. Now, since I have all you guys attention. Dmitri, bring them in."

A door opened, and Samantha and Toma were dragged in the room.

Jasiah said, "Mom."

Samantha ran up to Jasiah and hugged him tightly.

She said, "Jasiah, I'm sorry for everything, I'm sorry for not being there, I'm sorry for what I've become. And I love you."

"I love you too mom."

Shaw pressed the gun on the back of Samantha's head, and pulled the trigger, killing her. Her head laid on Jasiah's shoulder, as he began crying, more than he ever cried before. Shaw then pointed his gun at Toma, Toma begged Shaw not to kill him, but Shaw still shot rounds into Toma, kill him. 

Shaw began to say, "Now Jasiah, all you have to do is come with me. There's a plane ready for us already."

Keslan blurted out, "Jasiah don't give him what he wants. He's gonna make everything worse."

Shaw turned and shot Keslan in the chest, Jasiah yelled, "No! Keslan!"

Keslan fell to the floor, bleeding out.

Keslan said, "It's okay Jasiah, brothers for life.." 

Keslan died, and Jasiah couldn't say anything, nor could he blink his eyes. 

Shaw said, "Who's next?"

No one said a word, choosing to keep quiet.

Shaw started walking to Rachelle and said, "So you're the one behind giving commands and such. You took Jasiah away from me in Texas."

Rachelle said nothing, but looked at Jasiah. 

Shaw slapped Rachelle, and Brandon stood up quickly. One of Shaw's guards sprayed their rifle bullets into Brandon, and he fell to the floor, coughing up blood. Jasiah realized, no matter what the others do, Shaw will kill them either way. All comms were down, and there was no way for Jack to see or contact Jasiah and his team. 

Rachelle wanted to bust out crying, but she held it in, Jasiah saw the hurt in her eyes, feeling her pain. Shaw put his gun away, and pulled out a knife, and held it up to Rachelle's throat. Shaw looked right at Jasiah, and Jasiah shook his head to him, while tears ran down his face. Shaw slit Rachelle's throat, and she began to choke up her own blood. Jasiah and Rachelle looked at each other the whole time.

Shaw said, "Oh I forgot to tell you guys, you're all still gonna die no matter what. You brought hell to me, so I'm bringing hell to you."

Jasiah, Summer, Leah, and Mitchell were the only ones alive. Shaw started walking up to Leah, holding the knife in his hand. Jasiah's strength started to come back, hoping he can break free when he gets all of it back. Shaw put the knife up to Leah's throat, and before he could kill her, a sniper round went through Shaw's shoulder. Shaw yelled in pain and started to run out the room. Cindy was in the building across, and was aiming inside that room. Jasiah broke free and fell to the floor, as Cindy was sniping and killing every guard in the room. All the guards were dead, and Cindy laid down catching her breath. The jet pilot, Valkyrie, was laying down beside her, wounded. Cindy had saved her.

Jasiah began untying everyone, as his eyes were watery. After he untied Leah, she went to untie Summer, and Jasiah went to untie Mitchell. 

Mitchell said to Jasiah, "Go after him. We're not letting that bastard escape. Go! We'll watch summer. I'm going to try and get in contact with Jack or Dudnean."

Jasiah nodded as he gained all his strength back. He ran the other way, and smashed through the wall. He was outside, running from roof to roof. Shaw was already in a jeep, a few seconds away from his plane, a plane that looked like a presidential plane. Jasiah kept jumping from roof to roof, following Shaw. While Shaw was in the jeep, his guards were trying to fix his arm. They were already at the plane, and so was Jasiah. The plane door opened, Shaw and his guards were rushing to get out the jeep. They made it to the door, and got in the plane. Jasiah jumped and landed on top of the plane. Hanging on. 

The plane started to move, and it went forward, ready to fly in the sky. Seconds later, the plane was ready to fly in the sky. Jasiah hung on for dear life as the plane was ready to go higher in the sky. Jasiah pulled out a grenade, crawled carefully to a vent at the top of the plane, opened it up, pulled the pin of the grenade, and tossed the grenade in the vent. Jasiah started to lose his grip on the plane, until the grenade detonated. The side of the plane blew up into pieces leaving a wide opening. Jasiah caught one of the plane pieces, crawled to one of the engines, and jammed the piece inside. The plane's wing engine was failing and the plane was going down. The plane was smoking, and it was heading straight down to the ground. Mitchell and Leah and Summer watched the whole thing from a distance. 

In the plane, Shaw was praying to God he didn't die as the plane got closer to the ground. Jasiah still hung on to the top, as the plane crashed tremendously. 

Leah said quietly, "Jasiah…"

The plane was in flames along with the smoke wrapping around it. There was no sign of life around that area. Until, Shaw was crawling out the plane with both his legs broken. He was crying as the plane was still on fire. 

He laid on his back and stared at the sky, saying, "Thank you God for protecting me."

Seconds later, Jasiah came limping towards Shaw with a pistol. Jasiah was bloodied up, shirt was ripped, and he had scratches and dirt all over his face. 

Shaw reached his hand to Jasiah and said, "Please, Jasiah, please no. I can make you stronger. Please don't kill me."

Jasiah didn't say a single word, he kept limping towards Shaw. Jasiah pointed the gun at Shaw's head, and pulled the trigger, killing Shaw. Jasiah stood there, looking high above him, squinting his eyes. Koleji then started to crawl out the plane, Jasiah saw her, and shot her dead as well. 

Jasiah dropped to his knees, as he threw the gun on the ground. He started to cry again. 

American choppers started to fly above Jasiah, descending near him, it was at least 12 choppers. One of them had Leah, Cindy, Mitchell, and Valkyrie in it. Once their chopper hit the ground, Leah jumped out and ran to Jasiah, Jasiah looked at her and started getting to his feet. She ran up and gave him a big hug, and held it for a few seconds. After, she kissed him, and hugged him tighter. 

Jasiah said, "Is..Is it over?"

Leah replied, "Yes...let's go home."

Cindy and Mitchell started to get off the chopper to help Jasiah. 

A few hours later on the news, the President of the United States said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, we are proud to announce that Shaw has been killed. The nation's are rallying together to form peace, and it is now safe to come out the bunkers with your family. I'd like to honor all our fallen soldiers, and our live ones, who sacrificed their lives to give us freedom. I pray God comfort everyone as they go on about their lives, Amen."

Jasiah was the only one sitting in the church, he wore regular street clothes, a white tee, skinny black jeans, and red sneakers.

Jasiah started to talk to God saying, "I..I don't even know where to start. Forgive me for everything. Thank you for winning this war for us. Please help me follow you, and to do what's right. Whatever happens, I'll be back on the field protecting this country. Bless everyone that made it out the war alive. Please give people's homes back, and supply everyone with what they need. Thank you, Amen."

Jasiah sat there in silence for a few minutes, thinking about the horrors he's seen in Texas. A hand was placed on his shoulder, Jasiah turned around, and it was Leah. She walked, and sat down beside Jasiah. She laid her head on Jasiah's left shoulder, and Jasiah laid his head on her head.

Shaw, Haines, Koleji, Samantha, and Toma are all dead. But where was Levine?
