132. Flash
Barry had a busy day today in the Police department and he was about to go home now.
He wanted to go to Iris and spend some time with her. He was feeling a bit lonely.
'How good would it be if you were here mom. I wish I could do something'. Barry clenched his fists and looked up at the sky in thought.
He wanted nothing more than for his mother to be there when he got home and to celebrate Christmas and other festivals with her.
'No, I can do something'. Suddenly, this thought mysteriously appeared in his mind and grew like a plague that sent ripples through his mind.
Barry started to run. He bypassed al the people and ram as fast as he can.
He took off the tie on his neck and threw it aside. His attire changed midway and he ran even faster.
His speed started to increase more and more and his body started to disappear slowly like he was teleporting.
Barry's speed had already bypassed the Speed of Light by multiple times and it was still increasing.
It was getting faster and faster. Not even a second had passed in the real world and Barry had circled the earth multiple times already.
The speed grew so fast that afterimages were left at the whole circumference of the Earth and a round red and yellow flash appeared on the circumference of the Earth.
Suddenly, Barry disappeared altogether and vanished from the face of the Earth.
"Ugh". Barry groaned and appeared on a highway close to the residential area.
He looked around and found the familiar looking streets and the brand new house in front of him.
He was finally back in the past. He had achieved what he wanted.
'Finally, I can save you mom'. Barry thought in his mind with clenched fists and waited calmly to solve the incident before it happens.
Just as expected, a burglar broke into the house and threatened the young Barry and his mother with a knife.
Barry quickly took action and stopped everything in its wake.
Barry's mother and the young Barry were in a daze and dumbfounded there.
They couldn't figure out what just happened suddenly.
The robber was none other than Reverse Flash. Who was here to get things done right.
Barry tackled him through the house with his phasing ability activated.
It allowed them to move out of the house without damaging anything in the process.
"Why are you doing this?" Barry yelled on Eobard Thawne's face with anger bubbling in his eyes.
Thawne just looked into Barry's eyes without saying anything.
"Tell me why?!" Barry yelled even louder when he didn't get an answer.
"This has to be done". Thawne replied and just looked into his eyes without flinching.
"Why?!" Barry punched him in the face and questioned again.
Thawne didn't reply at all and calmly took the beating until he was knocked out cold from it.
Barry took a deep breath and sighed heavily. He felt like a boulder was lifted off his shoulders.
Barry looked at the sky and took another deep breath before he started on the run one more time.
This time going back to the future to enjoy his time with his now revived mother.
He was looking forward to it. He wanted nothing more than to go there right now and be welcomed back home.
Barry ran back to future and got home as soon as possible.
And there she was in all her glory. His mother, standing in the kitchen and making dinner for him.
"Mom". Barry choked up with emotions and started walking towards the kitchen.
"What happened Barry?" Nora looked back and saw Barry looking at her with faint tears in her eyes.
She was suddenly worried that something happened to her dear boy and quickly came over to him and asked.
Barry hugged her tightly and buried his face in her neck.
He stayed like this for a whole before letting her go but he was still very reluctant.
"It's nothing". Barry shook his head with a smile and turned his face away.
"Barry". Nora looked at him with worry and wanted to know what happened.
"It's nothing mom. Quickly make something, I'm starving". Barry pushed her towards the stove and sat down on a chair close to her.
"Okay then wait for me". Nora nodded her head with a smile but she was still very worried.
The TV running in the lounge started to display an urgent news.
"We have found out that Themiscyra and Atlantis are going to wage war agains the rest of the world". A familiar and feminine voice rang in the TV.
"What!" Barry was startled and quickly came to the TV to see the news.
"These have been displayed everyday for the past week". Nora came in and looked at the news with some worry in her eyes.
"No, this is not right". Barry shook his head and looked like his soul left his body.
"What happened Barry?" Nora asked while grabbing Barry's arm.
"Wait for me Mom". Barry said and tried to activate the Speedforce but it didn't work.
He was running like a normal man and not like a speedster at all.
'No, this is way too wring. Where is Alex, Superman, Batman and the others. How could this be?' Barry shook his head and decided to visit a place where he might get the answers.
He took a Taxi and went straight to Gotham City to meet up with his old friend.
It took him hours to get to a place where he could go in seconds and made him realise the convenience of Speedforce.
Barry quickly found the entrance to Batcave and barged in skilfully like entering his own home.
"Who are you?" A rough and heavy voice sounded behind him as soon as he stepped into the Batcave.
"Bruce, it's me Barry". Barry didn't turn around in fear that he will get attacked and just spoke excitedly.
Thomas squinted his eyes when he heard Barry's words and knocked him out without even asking anything further.
