Chapter 25: Friends

Jake arrived at the pub slightly late, as he entered the pub it was incredibly busy, looking through the crowd of people he couldn't see his friends, Jake then grabbed his phone and called Harry to find out where they were.

Jake: Yo Harry I'm here, where are you guys?

Harry: We are in the back

Jake: Alright heading through now

With that he hung up the phone and started to push through everyone and head towards the back, as he got through the doors he could see his friends at one of the tables, they were sat together with a third pint which was clearly for him.

Jake walked up to the table.

Jake: You alright guys

They both looked up to him

Lez: Woah you are actually back

Jake laughed and took a seat

Jake: Of course I'm actually back, what did you think when you asked me to meet up?

They both started laughing

Lez: yeah I guess you're right, so how you been man?

Jake: No much really, just been travelling

Harry: Come on there's gotta be more than that

Jake: Well of course

Jake then told him some of the same made-up stories that he told his family, the stories mainly consisted of him going to different villages and cities whilst getting some small jobs.

Whilst he was telling them stories and catching up with his friends the night went on with his mates buying a lot of drinks, as Jake finished off the fifth pint he noticed he was not getting the slightest bit drunk.

Jakes friends then ordered some shots to celebrate Jakes return, even after the shots Jake could still not feel himself getting drunk, Jake realised it must be because he is immortal now, Jake was a little annoyed buy it and decided to stop drinking.

His friends, on the other hand, were extremely drunk leaving Jake to look after them, which then brought back memories of the nights out he would usually have with his friends.

Jake called a taxi for the pair of them and made sure they got home safely joining them in the taxi, after dropping off Lez at his house Jake asked the taxi driver to take him back to the hotel he was staying at.

Arriving back in his hotel room Jake fell down onto his bed and fell asleep, knowing that tomorrow he would have to somehow get to Philadelphia.

Jake had woken up to a strange noise coming from his bag, not knowing the source of the sound he quickly pulled the contents out of his bag.

He then pulled out the card Taka had given him just before he left, looking at it the symbol was flashing so Jake pressed on the symbol and suddenly he could hear Taka's voice.

Taka: Hello? Jake?

Jake: Taka?

Taka: Hey Jake, how's it going

Jake looked puzzled

Jake: I'm fine, how are you

Taka: Yeah I'm great, was just seeing how things were with you

Jake: Yeah everything's fine, Taka how exactly do these things work

Taka: No idea, they work on some sort of magic

Jake: Huh, they are pretty cool, Taka I've got a question

Taka: Sure what is it?

Jake: I was out drinking last night

Taka: Let me guess you couldn't get drunk?

Jake: Yeah what's up with that is it because I'm immortal?

Taka: Yeah now you are immortal you have a very large tolerance to alcohol and other things.

Jake looked towards the clock and saw it was just after 10 am.

Jake: Well Taka it's been great talking but I've got some things to do today

Taka: No problem, have fun and come around soon

Jake: Sure will do see you

Jake then pressed the symbol again which seemed to turn it off, he then placed the card in his wallet and started to get ready for his trip to Philadelphia.

Jake googled the address that the buyer had given him and went on the street view, knowing there was a 5 hour time difference and the buyer told him to meet him at 10 am Jake new he had about 5 hours to wait before he was supposed to be there.

He then decided to make sure his plan of teleporting there with the street view picture would work, Jake stared at the street view picture and used his teleportation, vanishing from his room he had actually done it.

In an instant he was in front of the store, 5 hours too early as it was 4 am where he was now, happy he knew he could teleport back he decided to head back home and wait until the time of the meeting.

The time arrived for Jake to head back to the store, Jake teleported back in front the store it was an old store that collected goods by the look of things, Jake entered the shop that was completely empty with no one behind the desk.

Jake: HELLO, IS ANYONE HERE

A voice from the back of the store replied to him

???: ONE MOMENT PLEASE

An older gentleman stumbled out from behind some boxes and approached the main desk

Buyer: Yes how can I help you?

Jake: Hello I'm here to sell these coins

Jake then pulled out the pouch of coins and placed them on the desk

Buyer: Ah yes perfect, let me just have a look at them

The older man picked up each coin and checked them all thoroughly.

Buyer: They are in perfect condition, may I ask how you came to possess them

Jake: Erm they were given to me

Buyer: Oh really, aren't you lucky, let me just make the payment

The old man then wandered to the back of the store and came back with an old laptop.

Buyer: Okay can I have your details

Jake gave the man his bank details and the old man made the payment, Jake shocked how quick and easy that was checked his account to see he was 2.5 million pounds richer, the man thanked him as Jake left the shop.

Jake then walked around the back of the shop and made sure it was a safe place before he teleported back home, arriving back in his hotel room he looked at his account again and grinned knowing he could finally start living his life.
