Chapter - 12 [Finale]

Six months passed by so quickly after that Temple incident….time just flew away…. I lived a completely normal life just like any other human being…. No sudden appearances , no supernatural beings around me, no hallucinations, nothing… Me , my work and Hongseok…. I met the love of my life in such an exceptional situation… Everything seemed so perfect now… But somewhere deep in the corner of my heart , I still missed Adrestia… Her antics, bad bitch nature, annoying yet funny energy….

Wait , what am I thinking about? It's all over now…. Adrestia is gone for good and whichever realm she's wandering she'll be annoying the hell out of other creatures….

I walked down the staircase of my laboratory, came out of the main gate. Clock ticked 5:30 pm and even till this day after 6 months….my eyes still turned towards the wooden bridge… Maybe it has become more like a reflex action , and the aftereffect of all those things…

But every day I leave my company exactly at 5:30 pm and wait near the gate for next 5 mins. My heart is like a confused person it wants to see Adrestia but also wants to forget her forever.

"5:35…. You're gone right? gone forever right? Such a fool of me…. Damn…You tried killing me at one point and here I am still thinking about you…. Truly a lust Goddess , you've lusted me very well for yourself… Forget it Arin, you have date today!! And I might get a marriage proposal today….i don't know…. But I'm just feeling it… Am I getting married ? Finally? Aahhhhhh" , My ears turned red and my feet increased their speed…. I was practically running towards the Rain café.

I reached and saw Hongseok waiting at the door. I waved at him, crossed the road and hugged him tightly. "Woah!!! Did you run all the way ?" Hongseok laughed as I was breathing heavily. I nodded and smiled at him. We went inside and walked upstairs. I was excited… never been this excited in my entire life…. And even expecting so much from him. We ordered food and talked about all the random topics. Except one thing, Marriage….. My hopes were getting high and Hongseok kept talking about pets….

"Hongseok-ah , why did you bring me here today?" I said with a blank face.

"For date" He continued drinking his coffee

"We could've just sat on the bench there near Han river and talked till midnight or even just talked on the phone….i would've been lying on my bed comfortably after the whole hectic day….And even saved my money over this boring coffee and sandwich." My excitement had died and was replaced with frustration.

"I thought it would be nostalgic here… Our first blind date…. I thought it would be an ideal place for this event…."

"What event? Are we dancing here? Holding concert?"

He raised from his seat and bent down towards me….Stared straight in my eyes and kissed me on the cheeks… I was baffled, confused with his actions…. He went near my ears and whispered "Ms. Arin Miyawaki, Will you marry me?"

Chills went down my spine… Tears got collected at the edge of my eyes…. He looked at me so lovingly and patted my head, My happiness just hit the sky…

"What? Why are you crying now? I'm waiting….Answer me…" He smiled and teased me.

"Am I gonna say no? Pabo….Yes , I will marry you !!!! " I hugged him tightly.

But….then… On the seat behind Hongseok…. She was watching me with that smirk on her face…. Adrestia… My hands loosened up from Hongseok's hug… He was confused with the shocking expression on my face. He looked behind him and saw Adrestia sitting there,

"Can you see her? Hongseok-ah?" I was more shocked with the fact that he could see her.

"Obviously, she's sitting there right in front of my eyes…Why? Who is she? Your long lost friend, Min?" He said casually.

"Wait….how do you know Min?"

"You keep on calling out her name while sleeping….I've heard it sooooo many times. God damn, this Min made me so jealous." He said with the piece of sandwich in his hand.

Adrestia stood up and walked down stairs. No…I cannot let her go like that….i need to talk with her her…. I got up, "Hongseok, I'll call you later. I have to meet my long lost friend now…"

"Okay, call me anytime…. Arin don't worry ,I will be always there beside you." His smile and those words comforted me a lot. He was the one I had trusted since the day I met him and he was the one who never betrayed me…. My love, my real partner…

I ran down and went outside café. She was nowhere to be seen….but how can Seok see her? Did she transformed herself in human? What's happening ? I had no clue where to find her….But then suddenly it reminded of something….I ran towards my office.

I reached near the wooden bridge, my guess was correct… Adrestia was standing on the bridge. I went near her. She looked at me , "Congratulations Arin-ah, you're getting married soon." She smirked at me and patted on my shoulder.

"Why did you come back on the earth?"

"The Almighty has appointed me here, I'll be living with humans now on this earthly realm. Don't worry, we are meant to be together… So lucky you are…"

"I just thought, I finally escaped from your trap….but here we are facing each other again…. Don't you dare touch hongseok!!"

"Hey!!! Are you crazy? Why would a Gorgeous Goddess like me touch your human boyfriend or even meddle in your relationship….anyways you're like an empty vessel now, I have no intentions hurting or trapping you… Let's just be good friends and help each other in need."

"What would an empty vessel help a Goddess?"

"You'll know that by yourself…..slowly….slowly…."

"Why are you always smirking at me?"

"That's how I genuinely smile Arisa, How could I smile brightly like you? I'm an evil Goddess, right?"

"No…you were a evil… Now, you are my friend….very close friend…"

"Oh really? Wow…. Anyways don't forget to invite me on your wedding… Let's go , I will drop you home."

"By the way, what is your human name?"

" Lee Su Min… It's okay it will still be Min for you"

"Min-ah , I had this….you know…a very last query….doubt I guess…"

"I know , what are you so curious about… Come with me I'll take you there"

She took me in her car , and drove it near a huge tower. We went inside and using elevator we reached 25th floor, last floor of the tower. I followed her inside her paint house. She went upstairs , I kept looking around her luxurious apartment.

"Arin-ah!!" She called me up on the terrace.

I went up and my eyes were blinded with the bright purple lightings. The terrace was converted into mini bar, with purple violet lights giving it a more mysterious look. The roof was made of transparent glass. Min lied down the sofa.

"So….did you bring me here?"

"Hmm… I used to bring you here with me…and make you sleep here , on this beautiful ,velvety sofa for 5 hours straight."

"So…like this is where you live? Gods have these kind of luxury apartments? Daebak…. And you brought me here? Waah…. I was really overthinking about that situation then…" I giggled.

"You thought I did some black magic and took you to some cave or graveyard, don't you? I'm not that lowly poor Goddess Arin-ah!!! See how classy I am…. I did that to look for some way with which I could snatch away your core while you were sleeping…"

"Finally all my doubts are clear….my life is happy forever….Wowwwww!!!!"

"Not until you accept my last condition, only then I will allow you to marry that human."

My happiness just swept away with those words in my ears…. My face turned serious now….

"What condition?"

"I have been appointed here for some mission by the Almighty, so you have to help me with that mission….simple…and sign this contract here on the table…so simple and easy…"

"I know that's not as simple as you are making it look… Okay I will help you , but no blood should be involved… I will not engage myself in any blood shedding for you Gods."

"You will just play a spy…. No blood shedding, Promise!!"

"I don't trust your promises Min-ah….forget it… Give me the contract, I will read and sign….meet me tomorrow, I am leaving now" I

I left her apartment and Adrestia kept standing there smirking at me…
