Zombies ahead

Haruto throw a piece of rock on the window of the apartment.

Clang!

The window was shattered immediately as soon as the rock collided at its surface.

The sound it cause made the zombies turned their heads to look. The zombie slowly approached the apartment with uneven steps.

Seeing this, Haruto took a deep breath. He jumped forward and run in the opposite direction of the zombies as fast as he could.

He run faster while carefully looking at his surrounding. He doesn't want any zombies to notice him. He wasn't prepared to fight any of them, plus with their numbers even if he have a weapon he doesn't have a chance to win.

Luckily for him, he was very athletic. He arrived inside one of the apartment in just a few seconds. He quickly locked the door behind him.

Tap! Tap!

Haruto flinched as he heard a footsteps behind him. Rotten smell quickly assaulted his nose.

He gulped as he slowly turned his head to look behind him.

He saw a human corpse slowly walking towards him. It was covered in dry blood. One of its eyes was hanging outside of the eye socket. Its bloodied figure slowly moved towards him.

"Raaa!"

A low growl escape from the zombie. It raised both of its hand attempting to grab him.

"Shit!"

He raised his feet and kicked the body of the zombie.

Bang!

The zombie crashed in the table causing a loud sound.

Black sticky liquid stuck on his pants when he kick the zombie.

"Move!"

He quickly run towards the kitchen of this apartment. There, he found a kitchen knife. Then, he turned around and face the zombie.

He slashed the knife on the neck of the zombie before he stabbed it on the head.

Putchi!

The zombie stopped its movement and fell down on the ground. All of this happened in just a mere few seconds.

"That's first kill."

He muttered as he wiped the sweat forming on his head. He was glad that he learned basic fighting skills before. To think that he would need it to kill zombies.

He pulled the knife from the head of the zombie.

He walked towards the window and took a look outside. He saw that the zombies outside were heading towards this apartment.

"That's too many." His mouth twitched while looking at the hundreds of zombies walking towards his direction.

Based on the movement speed of the zombies, it will take take atleast one minutes before they arrived here.

He quickly run around the apartment and found the backdoor. He slowly opened and looked outside. When he saw that it was safe, he exited the apartment and went to the neighboring three-story house.

From the far away building, a woman holding a telescope in her eyes was looking at this scene on the rooftop of a building.

She saw everything that happened to Haruto. After a few moments, she brought down the telescope and looked behind her.

"How is it?" A man in his thirties asked her. He was wearing a black tank top and navy blue pants with lots of blood stain. There's two handgun hanging on his waist.

"There's a person near the southern entrance of the city." She said to the man.

"Alive! How many?" The man was quite surprised hearing this.

"Just one person." The woman answer as she tied her silky black hair in a pony tail before she walked passed the man. She was wearing a fitted black shirt and military pants coupled with military boots.

"One person, huh? Well, that person will not live that long." The man muttered in a low voice.

Haruto stood behind the door of the three-story house. He moved quietly as he closed the windows and covered it with cabinets.

"Okay, let's kill those damn zombies!" He said with a smile on his face as he started to walked around the house.

He already learned his lesson from before, so he will find the zombie if there's any inside this house.

He just need to be careful and he would be able to kill one or two zombies on his own. The movements of the zombies were simple and stiff. It's easy to predict their movements for someone like him who learned martial arts. He just need to calm down and those zombies were no matched for him.

There's a room at his left side. He place his hand on the doorknob and slowly opened it.

Swooosh!

Cold wind escape from the room and brushed his face. He shivered because of this. He bit his lower lip as he peek inside the room.

He saw tons of can foods inside the room and a figure standing motionless in front of the open refrigerator.

"There's electricity here."

He was glad when he found that there's electricity in this house. He shouldn't think about other things as there's a zombie in front of him.

He carefully went inside the room and closed the door beside him. He then approached the zombie before piercing its head with a knife.

Putchi!

Before the zombie fell on the ground, Haruto caught it in his arms as he doesn't want it to cause any sounds.

He gritted his teeth as he lay down the zombie on the ground. While doing this, he felt his stomach turning upside down.

Black sticky liquid stuck on his shirt and palm.

"What the hell is this liquid?!" He cursed in a low voice as he stood up and cleaned his palm using a handkerchief.

He took out his phone as he felt it vibrated when he killed the zombie before. He looked at the system prompts that he received.

[Mission: Kill 500 zombies. Progress: 2/500]

[Gain 1 points for killing a zombie!]

[Gain 2 points for killing a zombie!]

"Hmm...? What's with this points?" He muttered curiously when he saw the prompts.

He checked his phone and found that there's [Item], [Equipment], [Combat Arts], [Abilities], [Magic Spell],[World], [Forum], [Duel], [Guild], and [Ranking] interface but all of this were locked. He needs to finish the Newbie World first before he could unlocked all of this.

There's no point in thinking about these things when he still haven't finished the Newbie World. He could only guess that the points were important to this game.

He shook his and exited the room. There's a lot of can foods there so he doesn't have any problem in foods. He should worry about the missions instead.

He walked ahead and opened a room beside. He looked and found that this room was a room of a child. It was full of tottered stuff toys.

There's a family picture on the ground.

He noticed it and picked it up. He looked at it and saw a family of five people. They were all smiling happily but now he didn't know what happened to them.

This zombie outbreak ruined all the lives living being in this world. Not just humans, it also includes animals as he saw that there's mutated animals in this world on his phone.

Then he went to the second floor. He saw a figure of a woman walking. This woman was already dead.

"The residents of this house were all dead." Haruto murmured in a low voice.

This woman must be the mother of the family and the zombie he killed before was the father.

He slowly approached the zombie and stabbed his knife on the head of the zombie.

He's slowly getting used to this scene. Killing a zombie was slowly becoming a natural feeling to him.

He lay down the zombie on the ground.

If he's correct then there's three zombie left here in this house.

"Huff..." Haruto took a deep breath and tightened all of his muscles.

"All right, let's do this!"

He tapped his knife on the metal pole on the stairs. The sounds was loud enough for people to hear it around the house but it wasn't loud enough for the people outside to hear.

He was going to wrapped up this. He's going to kill all the three zombies left. The children of the woman and man that he killed before.

Soon, he heard footsteps from the floor above and the rooms ahead of him. A zombie walked out of the room and looked at him with crazy eyes.

"I'm putting you to rest, so rest in peace." He said as ha dashed towards the zombie.

The zombie stretched out its hands.

Haruto crouched down and slashed the knees of the zombie.

Thud!

The zombie fall on its knees. He quickly stabbed his knife on the eye socket of the zombie.

Putchi!

He pulled out his knife as he need to killed the other two zombies here in this house.
