A fun fight

Seeing Eric get ready, the wraith raised its hands, whisps of demonic energy floating off of them. Seeing this Eric grabbed part of the chain and began to swing it with the sickle at the end while holding the rest in his other hand. The wraith on the other hand began to draw magic circles in the air, this was how it used spells, by drawing energy out of its core and giving them a 'form' to use it could cast a spell, while Eric would give 'meaning' to the energy, this was more efficient but required more skill and experience to use properly compared to a magic circle.

What Eric did could also be considered a type of incantationless casting. Back to the fight, Eric three the sickle to the wraith, magic coating the blade so it could harm it. The wraith on the other hand summed spectral hands to try and catch the fast-approaching weapon, because of this Eric pulled on the chain, changing the motion of the sickle from strait forward to a swinging ark, cutting the hands apart before returning to his hand before being spun and thrown again.

The wraith ready a different spell this time, with one hand it cast a spectral sword to use while the other one summed a skeleton archer, seeing this Eric unsummoned the chain sickle for a sickle in one game and a segmented whip in the other that looked like a spine. Rushing at the skeleton first, he bound it with the whip before citing its arms and head off with the sickle and continuing his charge to the wraith.

Grabbing the sword with both hands the wraith reflected the incoming whip before racing it to block the sickle aiming for its head, Eric then unsummoned the whip for another sickle and swung it at the wraith's arm, the wraith reached out its right hand and quickly made a barrier of energy, it didn't stop the sickle but it gave the wraith enough time to move out of the way.

Eric and the wraith paused for a second to look at each other before Eric said "I haven't had this much fun since I was on Earth." to which the wraith replied, "It has been a while myself. Sadly I won't be able to win this fight." as it said the cut appeared across its right arm, almost severing it as the sword in its left hand shattered and the wraith dropped to the ground.

Not wanting to kill someone who gave him so much fun Eric walked over to the wrath and put out his hand, "What do you say to a master-servant contract? You get to live, I get a servant, and we both get to have fun and fight at any time." looking at the outstretched hand the wraith paused for a second before grabbing it and saying "as much as being a servant doesn't sound nice, being able to fight you regularly sounds way to fun to say no."

Hearing this Eric smiled and activated a third circle on his arm, a contract-making circle. He made this while he was bored on the way here, all it did was create a master-servant contract between him and someone or something else, In this case, a wraith. Once the contract was completed Eric could see the wraiths status.

As Eric soon came to find out, Nyx was a she. She was about 6'3 while covering and 5'10 when not, she was mostly just a ghostly visage with dark eyes and skeletal limbs with an ethereal cloak covering all of her body and most of her head, besides the eyes. When he asked her why she had so few skills and powers he realized just his much of a freak he was.

Nyx was considered talented where she came from as she was able to use both soul magic and necromancy, The sword and hands she had made were a combination of both. But Eric was just a monstrosity. Normally someone would be specialized in one thing, like how Nyx specialized in spell casting, hence her low strength and constitution and high perception and intelligence, her agility was because of her race. Even though his realm was lower than Nyx he had stats that could rival her highest ones. The reason she had such a low energy cap was that she had a rather standard core structure when she was alive, speaking of that. Nyx's gift of undeath meant she would turn into an undead when she died as a living being. If she died while still being undead though she would die for good. Rebirth allowed her to come back to life from undeath through various means, A rather good combination of gifts.

The cost of undeath was her physical body at the time, turning her into a wraith, and the cost of rebirth was her being forgotten by all things. With this in mind, Eric had some interesting plans for the future, but for now, it was time for the next test. The next test was a many-on-one, specifically a total of five puppets being controlled by a judge against one student.
