On the way back, Fu Hannan pulled Gu Yining from his blacklist and attempted to call her several times.
"Sorry, the number you dialed is currently busy."
Furrowing his brows, Fu Hannan wondered who she could be talking to at this hour.
After a while, he dialed again, but the same message played.
"Find out who she's on the phone with and her exact location," Fu Hannan ordered Li Feng, his voice laced with urgency.
Li Feng was driving and could only use his Bluetooth headset to contact his subordinates for information.
Soon, the communications company reported back: "Young Madam is not on a call with anyone; she has blocked your number."
"???" Fu Hannan's eyes widened in disbelief.
He felt an eerie sense of déjà vu, as if he was caught in a cycle of payback.
This woman was indeed someone who would retaliate; he blocked her once, and she felt the need to do the same.
Was it childish?
"Where is she?" he demanded.
"She's at the Hua Cheng Lounge. Should we head over?"
"Make it quick!" Fu Hannan barked.
Li Feng didn't dare waste another moment, flooring the accelerator and speeding off, nearly driving the car like a fighter jet.
Inside the lounge, Gu Yining, having downed several bottles of strong liquor, lay sprawled over the bar, thoroughly inebriated.
Feeling a mixture of sorrow and self-pity, she repeatedly bumped her head against the bar, murmuring, "I keep telling myself to be cautious and not to make mistakes. So many people are waiting for me to fail, wishing for my downfall. Why am I still so useless?"
Xiaoxiao hurriedly fetched a pillow from a nearby table and placed it on the bar for Gu Yining's comfort. "Oh my god, my little ancestor, please don't hurt yourself! If you knock your head too hard, how will you ever be my mentor again?"
Gu Yining, her face flushed, squinted her beautiful eyes at Xiaoxiao, poking her delicate finger into her shoulder. "At a time like this, you're worried about your gaming? Xiaoxiao, you're heartless! I'm cutting ties with you!"
Xiaoxiao pouted, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. "Yining, I just don't want you to drink anymore. Come on, let me take you home, okay? You can sleep at my place."
"Fine, I'll sleep at your place. That jerk Fu Hannan, I'm done with him! He's been away for a week without contacting me, blocked me, and even brought another woman to a banquet… Ugh, he's just a scumbag. I want a divorce… I want a divorce…"
Gu Yining shouted loudly in the bar, her frustration spilling over.
"Right, divorce! We'll go get a divorce as soon as we're sober tomorrow. Honestly, I've never thought much of him anyway. He's so much older than you, yet so clueless about romance, always bullying and mistreating you…"
As Gu Yining and Xiaoxiao were busy venting their frustrations, they were completely unaware that the very person they were criticizing stood right behind them, radiating an icy aura like a chilling stone pillar.
When Xiaoxiao dragged Gu Yining down from the bar, she turned to face Fu Hannan's frosty gaze.
Startled, Xiaoxiao let go of Gu Yining, who stumbled and nearly fell.
Fortunately, Fu Hannan reacted swiftly, catching her around the waist and pulling her into his embrace.
"Fu… Fu Dajun, hello! What a coincidence to run into you here," Xiaoxiao stammered, terrified.
She had met Fu Hannan a few times before and had always found it hard to look him in the eye, feeling like a little bunny in front of a hungry wolf.
Unlike Gu Yining, who exuded confidence and strength, Xiaoxiao felt vulnerable and weak under his piercing gaze.
"From now on, do not bring her to bars!" Fu Hannan ordered icily, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Xiaoxiao quickly caved, nodding vigorously. "Okay, I won't bring her again! Fu Dajun, just pretend I didn't say anything earlier. Please take her home; if you don't, she'll knock her head into a total mess and become a fool!"
Gu Yining, still dizzy from the drinks, leaned into Fu Hannan's hold, her heart racing from a mix of embarrassment and resentment. The atmosphere was thick with tension, and she realized that her emotional outburst had just been interrupted by her husband, the very person she had been venting about.
