The man on the other end of the line suddenly breathed heavily, remained silent for a long while, and just as Samuel Johnson thought he would erupt in rage, Evan Willow had already hung up the phone.
The busy tone "beep beep beep" echoed from the phone, and Samuel Johnson stood silently with the phone in hand, taking a long time before he sighed.
He turned his head towards the nurse and said, "I want to get out of the ambulance. Tell the driver to stop."
