Chapter 15: Party

Angel's POV:

Three Months Later

"Angel put those balloons over there." Stan said. I nodded and walked over to the center of the room. I began filling the balloons up with air. Me, the Magic Council, Keisha, Evie, and Trey were helping set up balloons and decorations for Meghan's birthday party. We know she said she didn't like celebrating her birthday, but we wanted to. She said over and over that she doesn't want to come home and see anything that screamed party but we didn't care. I wanted to celebrate her birthday and that's what we're doing. "Hey Trey, hows the cake coming?" I called out. He didn't answer. I looked over at him. He looked between me and the cake. It was a mess. "Can't we just go to Walmart or Food Lion and get a cake?" He asked.

"No. It wouldn't feel special." I said. "Like that bitch would feel anything." Aaliyah muttered. "Aaliyah stop it. Meghan just needs to be remind how good her birthday is." I said. She stared at me. "Angel you are a cheerful person." She said, before walking down the hall. I smiled a little. "Angel, what if Meghan doesn't like it? Then this would be all for nothing." Keisha said. "I don't care. Meghan will just have to put up with this." I said. She sighed. I noticed Keisha wasn't her usual self. I followed her into her room. It was filled with bubble letters for the party. "Keisha what's up bro?" I asked. "Well three nights ago, I was over at Marcus's house." She said. I crossed my arms. "Okay and?" I asked. "And he got a text from that Mexican chick. "Cara?" I asked. She nodded. "They've been texting each other." She said.

I gasped. "Oh damn. Why?" I asked. She shrugged. "I wanna tell him about it but I don't want to lose him again. But this is eating me up." She said. Tears streamed down her cave. I hugged her. "I'll talk to him." I said. "No. I just....I wanna be to the one who confronts him on this." She said. "You sure? Keisha this is serious." I said. "I know." She said. We heard the sound of a door closing. We walked out the room and looked over the raking of the stairs. Lucky and Marcus was here. "Okay Lucky, is she gone?" Trey asked. "Yep. Kacey and Aaliyah are busy keeping Meghan away from the house." He said. He looked up at me. I heard a cry behind me. Marcus looked up and smiled. "Keisha." He called. Keisha took off towards her room. Shit. "Angel what's wrong with her?" Alma asked.

They all stared at me. Say something girl. "Her head hurts." I lied. They stared at me. "Angel foreal foreal." Trey said. "Okay. Girl issues." I lied. They all turned away. Except Lucky. I could by the look on his face he knew something was up. I quickly ran to Keisha's room but it was empty. The window was open. I ran to it and saw her running towards the woods. I sighed. Damn it Keisha. "Where's Keisha?" Asked a voice. I jumped and nearly fell out of the window. Lucky caught me. "Jesus Lucky. Don't do that." I said. "You didn't answer my question." He said. "Keisha is....off." I said. "Off where?" He asked. "Why does it matter?" I asked. He stared at me. His gaze hurt me. "Okay fine. She's upset with Marcus right now but you can't say anything to him." I said.

"Why? What he do?" I asked. "She went through his phone and saw text messages from Cara." I said. "Cara? The girl who claimed she had a daughter by him?" He asked. I nodded. He made a face. "Lucky, do you know why he's talking to Cara?" I asked. He shook his head. "No." He said. He went towards the door. "Yo Marcus!!" He called. I quickly covered his mouth and pushed him against the wall. "Shut up!! What are you doing?" I asked. "What? I wanna know why he's texting Cara." He said. "Okay that can wait. Keisha wants to be the one who brings this up to him." I said. Marcus came running into the room. "What's up?" He asked. Me and Lucky looked at each other. "Where's Keisha?" He asked. "Gone." Lucky said. I elbowed him.

"Gone where?" Marcus asked. "She had something to do." I said, as I walked past him. Marcus grabbed my arm. "Angel where is she really?" He asked. "She has something to do." I repeated. "Angel!!! Where's the bubble letters?" Alma called. I grabbed the decorations and ran downstairs. I gave Alma he decorations. "Where's Keisha?" Trey asked. "She has something to do." I said. I headed for the door. "Angel, what's going on?" Bryan asked. "Nothing. I just gotta go meet Kacey." I said. "But you're suppose to help with the decorations. After all, this was your idea." Alma said. "Yeah well something came up." I said, irritably. I grabbed my keys and walked out the door.

I headed to the garage and got in my car. I drove off towards Light Lake. Where are you going? Light Lake. I can't take this pressure. I need to focus. I pulled up to the lake and parked. I sighed and got out. I walked out the the banks and sat down. I stared out at the water. The currents of the water waved back and forth. It was mesmerizing. I felt heard footsteps behind me. I turned around to see Lucky. He stared at me. "What do you want Lucky?" I asked. "I came out to see if you were fine." He said. "Well I'm fine. You can leave." I said. "What's your problem?" He asked. I sighed. "I'm sorry. I'm just.....tired of having to the backbone of everything." I said. He came over and sat down next to me. "What do you mean?" He asked. "I mean like...." I trailed off.

I sighed. "I can't explain it." I said. "Try." He said. "I mean, I helped Keisha and Marcus get back together. Now they're about to have a big argument again. I want to help Kacey find her mate. And I just found out that my old principal is now coming to my new school. He's going to be our guidance counselor." I said. "Angel, how bout I help take some load off?" He asked. I looked at him. "What do you mean?" I asked, curiously. "Like let me help you." He paused. "Wait your helping Kacey found her mate?" He asked. I nodded. "I wanna help her." I said. "Why?" He asked. I shrugged. "I'm being a good friend." I said. "Have you found your mate?" He asked. I stared at him. SAY YES!!! It's him. "Have you found yours?" I asked. "Yeah but I don't know how to approach her on the issue." He said.

I gasped and hugged him. "Oh my God congratulations Lucky. Who is she?" He asked. He stared at me before grabbing my hand. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." He said. I smiled. "Tell me." I said. He grabbed my face. My heart raced. Our phones ringed, making us both jump. I fell into the water. No. Not now. My mermaid tail appeared. I looked at Lucky, who stared at my tail. "Oh my God it's creepier up close." He said. I glared at him. I dried off and we went back to my car. "Who called?" I asked, in a high voice. He looked at his phone. He stared at it. "Lucky?" I called. He closed his eyes and sighed. "I gotta go Angel." He said. He transformed into a dragon and flew off. I watched him.

I sighed. A few more minutes. That's all I needed. To do what exactly? Kiss him. I think he was going to kiss me. You think? Shut up. I got in my car and sped off towards the house. I parked and ran inside the house. "Ah Angel. Glad your back." Stan said. I didn't answer. I just continued to set up decorations. Everything was going well til Kacey and Aaliyah came back. They said they sent out invitations. Soon after, students from school showed up. It was nearly full. I got agitated as my anxiety shots up. Being around too many people makes me nervous and uncomfortable. Then Meghan showed up. She walked in the door and we all jumped up and yelled surprised. She didn't look very happy. "Really guys? I said I didn't want a party." She said.

"Oh well. You got one. Suck it up and deal." I said, as I ran over and put a party hat on her. We turned up for the night. The party was great. Lucky and Marcus showed up. I looked at Lucky but he didn't look too happy. I wanted to talk to him. I made my way over to him. "Lucky!!" I called out. He looked at me. I'm surprised he can hear over this loud music. "What's up?" He asked. "What's wrong? You look upset." I said. "Yeah I'm not really feeling well. I just wanna go home." He said. My heart hurt. I didn't want him to leave. "Aw come on. Stay." I said. "Yeah I'm tryna stay for Meghan but I'm just not feeling it." He said. We all then heard a loud crash. Everyone turned to see Keisha standing in the doorway. The door was broken down. She looked down at it and giggled. Oh no. She's drunk. I went over to her. "Keisha where have you been?" I asked.

She looked at me and giggled. "Angel." She said, in a high voice. She hugged me. She reeked of alcohol. "Angel guess what?" She asked. "What?" I said. "I love you." She said. Then she erupted into laughter. "Keisha where have you been?" Alma asked. "Oh I wanted to go have a little fun." Keisha said. She laughed until she saw Marcus. "Oh Marcus. I got something to tell you." She said, as she stumbled her over to him. She fell but he caught her. "So Marcus, you remember Cara right?" She asked. Marcus looked confused. "Yeah what about her?" He asked. "Why were you talking to her?" Keisha asked. "Keisha-" Marcus was cut off by her. "Don't even bother lying to me Marcus." Keisha yelled. "Keisha wait. Now is not the time." I said. She shrugged me off. "No. I wanna know. Why have you been taking to her? Do you not like me? Am I not enough?" Keisha asked. Marcus grew silent. "Keisha wait. I can explain." He said.

I gasped. Nooo Marcus. "Oh so you've been cheating on me?" Keisha asked. It was like her drunken self was gone. "Keisha can we talk alone?" Marcus asked. He grabbed Keisha's hand. Keisha snatched away from him. "No. No so you've been cheating on me this whole time?" She asked. "Baby, I can explain this." Marcus said. "Don't bother. We-We're done Marcus. Oh another thing.....I just fucked your brother." Keisha said, before running upstairs to her room. Marcus stared after her. "Marcus I'm so sorry for her." I said. I ran upstairs to Keisha's room. I opened the door to see Keisha sitting on the floor. She looked at me and smiled. "Angel, guess what? I just broke up with Marcus." She said. Then she snickered. "That's not at all funny Keisha." I said.

"Why?" She asked. "Keisha he cares a great deal about you and you broke up with him and you just admitted to sleeping with his brother." I said. She laughed. "Oh well. Now he knows how I feel." She said. I stare at her. I raised my hand and released an aura. I made her fall asleep. I sighed and carried her to her bed. Two hours passed before she woke up. "Oh my God. My head hurts." She said. "Good. A hangover is karma." I said. She looked at me. "Angel? What happened?" She asked. "We were supposed to have Meghan's birthday party but you ruined it by breaking up with Marcus and confessed to fucking his brother." I said. She looked at me. "Oh my God. I didn't fuck his brother. I just had him give me head." She said.

"Keisha foreal foreal." I said. "No really. He gave me head and I gave him head. So what?" She said. "So what? You totally broke Marcus's heart." I said. "Well he shouldn't have been talking to Cara." She said. "Ya know Keisha, of all the crazy shit you've done, this is the wildest. You should've talked to Marcus than cheat on him." I said. "He cheated on me. I just settled the score." Keisha said. "I didn't cheat on you." Said a voice. We turned around to see Marcus and Lucky standing in the doorway. Keisha gasped. "Marcus I-" He cut her off. "Keisha what the fuck? You disappear all day, come back drunk as hell, and you tell me you we're done and that you slept with my brother?" He said. Keisha day there. Tears streamed down her face but she didn't look at him.

"Keisha I didn't fucking cheat on you. Yeah I was talking to Cara but it wasn't the reason you think." He said. "Why were you talking to that bitch then?" Keisha asked. Marcus scoffed. "You can't be the one calling her a bitch." He said. Keisha stood up. I got in between them. "Listen. Just let him explain." I said. "Thank you Angel. I was talking to Cara cause she was happy to see me. She wanted to catch up with me and how I've been. I don't know how far you got in my phone, but I was actually telling Cara how happy I am with you. That we do argue and fuss and fight but we make up. She was happy I was happy. She even found someone to make her happy. She wanted advice on how talk to this new guy. So yeah I was talking to her and giving her advice. But that was it. Yeah you found the text she sent me, if me meeting her next week." Marcus said.

"Because she wanted him and YOU to come down there and help her with her new guy. Cara was gonna say you were her friends so they could double date." Lucky said. Keisha stood there. "Why didn't you just tell me? Then this would've never happened." Keisha said. "Don't turn this around on me!!!" Marcus shouted. We all grew silent. "Okay one, Marcus you should've told Keisha that you and her were going on a double date." Lucky said. "And two, Keisha instead of going off, getting drunk and fucking your mate's brother, you should've approached Marcus on this issue, since you wanted to be the one who brought it up to him." I said. "Okay your right. I should've said something but she shouldn't have cheated." Marcus said. "Yeah. I shouldn't have cheated." Keisha said.

"So what now?" I asked, curiously. "Right now, I'm going home. Keisha I think we need a break." Marcus said. Tears streamed down Keisha's face. She nodded silently. "Are you guys done for good Marcus?" I asked. He stared at me. "I don't know but I just want a break from her." He said. "Okay. I think that's the best thing right now." I said. Marcus and Lucky walked downstairs and out the house. I looked back at Keisha. She was sitting on her bed with her knees up to her chest. She was crying. I went over and awkwardly hugged her. "It's gonna be okay Keisha." I said. She shook her head. "No. Because of my insecurities, I ruined the the best relationship I've ever had." She said. I felt bad for her. "Love, the only I can say is to give Marcus time. You really hurt his feelings." I said. "I was jealous. If I can go back and undo this, I would." She said.

I nodded. "Keisha, just....give him time." I said. She nodded and went to her bathroom. I heard the water run. I went back to my room and went to my bathroom. I ran the bath water and laid in the tub. I stared at my tail before I heard my phone ping. I dried off and went to my room. I looked and seen I had a text from Lucky.

Lucky: Hey

Angel: Hey. How's Marcus?

Lucky: He's hurt right now.

Angel: He went home sad?

Lucky: He's spending the night at my house.

Angel: Is he okay?

Lucky: Yeah. He's just staring at his phone. He has a picture of him and Keisha as his screensaver.

Angel: Did he talk to his brother? Are they gonna work this out?

Lucky: Not right now. He came home and fought his brother. As a result, his Mom wants him staying at my house until things cool down.

Angel: Don't werewolves hold grudges for a long amount of time?

Lucky: Yeah so he's gonna be here for awhile, which I don't mind.

Angel: Tell him I said that it'll be okay.

Lucky: We know. Kacey had a vision showing that they've forgiven each other. It's just Keisha he wants to talk to.

Angel: I thought he wanted time away from her?

Lucky: He does but he does miss her.

Angel: So does Keisha. She's been crying since he left.

"Angel?" Said a voice. I looked up to see Bryan standing in the doorway. "Yes?" I said. "Lights out. Got school." He said, as he turned off my light.

Angel: Goodnight Lucky.

Lucky: Night Angel.

I noticed Lucky did long text bubbles before sending a short message. I hated when that happens. Yes. It's like, go ahead and say what you were gonna say. I put my phone on the charger and laid my head down. I stared off into space before succumbing to my sleepiness.
