Chapter 9

"I can't believe what is happening right now, why is father doing this to us why can't he just let us get married?" Luna asked as tears slid out of the corner of her eyes, she was sitting on the top of the mountain with Evans by her side, He draped his arms around her shoulder and brought her closer to his chest. His free hand went to caress her soft hands gently, "I don't know why he insist on not letting us get married, but maybe he has a reason a valid reason, I know your father is a very wise king and he knows what he is doing" Ethan spoke but that didn't help to ease the pain that Luna felt, it aggregated her anger.

"What? are you in support of everything he is doing? you don't love me anymore? you don't want to get married to me?" Luna asked as she faced him directly, the rim of her eyes had turned red from crying too much. Evans smiled sadly as he placed his hands on her cheeks, "Of course I love you Luna, I love you with everything I have but if your father is not in support there is nothing I can do" He explained to her but Luna didn't agree to his explanations, she yanked her face away from his hold as she glared at him.

"There is nothing you can do? why are you such a coward Evans? why are you of all people doing this to me?, why don't we get married in secret, we can move away from here and go settle in another place?" she tried to explain her own ideas to him, Evans shook his head. "That is not the way I want to marry you Luna, I want everyone to know that you belong to me, try to understand, alright I'll see if I can beg my father to persuade the king, alright?" He asked her and she nodded, "That's my girl, now wipe your tears, oh gosh you look so ugly while crying" Evans teased her and at last he was able to bring out her beautiful smile.

"Why do you like bullying me Evans, you are making me feel bad at my worst" She said to him as she wiped her tears away with the back of her hands.

"No I am not love, it's true, you look bad while crying" He told her as he removed the pin from her hair, he turned her to the side so he could pin it properly. "There, I want you to always be happy Luna, I love you" He finished, he gave her a light kiss on her lips before letting go of her.

"I think I have to go now, I don't want my father to be worried, do you want me to drop you at the castle?" he asked as he stood up.

"No don't worry I'll be fine, I just want to spend some time alone"

"Alright then" He said, he leaned down to give her a kiss on her forehead, "No crying Luna" He warned before blowing a kiss to her and walking towards his horse, he hopped on it, waved at Luna and rode away.

Luna watched as Evans vanished from her sight, she turned back to look at the horizontal line where the earth connected with the sky. She hoped that her father would be convinced to let her marry Evans, she loved him so much and the thought of being his wife elated her mood. Suddenly the sky became darker and the mountain began to shook, Luna had her eyes wide open in horror as she stood up to balance herself , there was a red lightning above the sky just above her head and it made her body shook in fear, "What's going on?" Luna asked no one in particular, how was she going to survive this and why does it look like it's only the mountain she was on that was shaking, the other mountains looked firm.

After some seconds, everything went back to normal, "Huh?" Luna asked herself as she looked around her, she waited for like two minutes more and when nothing happened, she went back to sit on the mountain while keeping her leg in the air. She just hoped that whatever happened earlier must not repeat itself.

"Enjoying your little time huh?" she heard from behind her and her head whipped to the back. Her eyes widened on seeing someone with a black cloak and a silver mask, his voice sounded menacing.

"Who are you? and what are you doing here?" She asked as she carefully stood up to face the so called person in a cloak, he looked quite muscular from the structure of his body. Why is she doing this? why is she admiring another man instead of Evans?

"I just came to see you sweetie, don't worry sooner or later you'll know who I am" He said as he look one long step towards her while Luna took a step backwards making the stones at the peak fall down, "Uh uh, don't do that again darling, you won't be able to handle the fall" He said again as he took another step closer to her, Luna held her breath as she allowed the person to get closer to her. She could feel the person's gaze on her although she wasn't seeing his face, she could feel his red eyes piercing through her soul. But wait! this guy looked like a danger, why would anyone have red eyes.

"And why would anyone have grey eyes?" He asked her making her gasp, 'What? is he hearing what I'm thinking?' Luna asked herself as she took a step back due to shock, she felt herself slipping off the mountain but thankfully the guy in black cloak stretched his hand and a golden rope appeared from nowhere to circle around her waist and pulled her gently towards him.

"I thought you're the obedient type, I told you not to take a step back didn't I?" He asked as he lifted his hands to caress her face, "Your skin is so soft and smooth" He complimented her while he moved his face towards hers, if there was a dangerous move at that moment from any of the sides, their faces would end up colliding. Luna was begining to feel weird, this doesn't feel right, she shouldn't be doing this with another man asides Evans.

She tried pushing him to the back but was surprised when he didn't even move a spot, is that how strong he was. "Are you even human?" She asked him and this time she heard a scoff from him.

"Hmph, definitely not your kind, what's good about being you? so weak and fragile, you can't even handle a lightning and a small shake" He harrumphed.

"What? you did that? how could you? Are you trying to kill me? do you even know who I am?" She kept asking questions that made the man roll his eyes while he brought his hands forward to check his nails, he didn't respond to her right away and was thinking about something, his lips curved into a smirk when he saw that his orders had been carried out.

"Yes I did that and I can do this too" He said as he pushed her from the mountain.
