Chapter 3: Allergic to Water

The legendary branch stick has been unexpectedly broken..

Emiyo strook the Rift Hound with the stick, and it broke on impact, unexpected right?

The hit obviously did not do much to the monster, it had only successfully angered the doggo.

"Grrrrr!!" sparks of lightning danced around the the Rift hounds fur or whatever it was.

The monster mostly looked like an overgrown wolf, the only difference between them is that it wasn't a natural existence, they were created by 'Gold' and one of their accidental and failed creations/experiments.

This creation had all of its body parts disconnected from each other, but they were still strangely floating near where it should be with the help of strange power, maybe magnetism? Anyways, nothing created by 'Gold' could be considered 'normal'.

And as the name 'Thundercraven Rift Hound' suggests, it has some power over the element of Electro, and has the ability to rip the surrounding space and create a rift through which it can travel short distances, as if teleportation.

But this is not why it is considered especially annoying to fight against. It wouldn't be annoying if it only had those abilities. The most annoying ability is the bleeding effect and the only known existence right now that can do such a thing is exactly this doggo.

"Snap" The rift hounds mouth shut as it tried to bite out a piece of flesh out of Emiyo.

"Yo, yo, yo, good doggie, good doggie, sit, lay, roll" But of course the 'Doggie' did nothing like that, since it was obviously never trained properly.

The only thing Emiyo could do against the Hound is dodge, run around and wait.

The system had said earlier that Emiyo has a perfect body, although not yet trained properly, it possesses higher strength, agility and stamina than a normal mortal, this stage of strength would be called boundary stage.

Row also said that there are 10 stages of Power, as far as intelligent beings are concerned.

1 Star: Mortal.

2 Star: Boundary.

3 Star: Broken through

4 Star: Elite.

5 Star: Powerful.

6 Star: Peak.

7 Star: Mythical.

8 Star: Godly.

9 Star: Archon.

10 Star: Celestial.

Even though with this kind of strength, by striking the Rift Hound, would definetly damage it a little. Unfortunately when Emiyo tried to strike it with his fists, the body parts of the monster separated, not allowing for the first to touch it. The situation with the stick was just pure luck, and because of the Hound being very arrogant at the start. Now it's just annoyed by the situation.

And now to answer the question why Emiyo was waiting while dodging the wolves attacks. It's that while wielding and striking with the stick a bleeding effect applied to the Rift Hound. Though not by a lot and not so often. It definetly dealt damage to the monster.

After Two hours of running around and dodging the now pissed off Thundercraven Rift Hound. Emiyo could see the Wolf being weakend, which could only mean it's health was definetly quite a bit down.

"Grrrrrr!" It suddenly jumped at him once again but before it could land a strike it just fell down with its health probably reaching zero.

"*Whistles* now that's what I call a fight of endurance... why was the doggo so down to kill me though... even if it's health is so low, it didn't run away.. I got lucky there weren't any other Rift Hounds around.." Emiyo sighed as he sat down not so far away from the wolf.

"Well it's not disappearing like in the game.." He picked up a little stone which was near him on the sand and threw it at the wolf.

The lightning effect on the body of the doggo disappeared and its body parts crumbled and turned into stone which after turned into dust.

"Well not so different from the game I guess... but wait a minute.. THERE ARE NO DROPS?! WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?! WHAT FOR DID I RUN AND JUMP AROUND LIKE A MONKEY?!" One way or another he had to accept what was given or not, since he can't change anything about it.

'That bleeding effect or whatever sure helped me a lot to end that 'looteless' Hound...'

[Ability: Electrifying Bleeding effect]

[Description: affects an enemy with a bleeding effect on contact, also has electrocuting capabilities. Can only be canceled if the caster wants to cancel it themselves, gets knocked out, or - either the caster or the one who has the effect on themselves is/are killed]

'Dope'

Because of the whole unexpected Wolf monster situation, Emiyo didn't have time to think about what happened at the moment.

'Row can record a random ability from another entity and give the copied ability to my usage..'

[Yes, but there are restrictions to the recordings as to not attract too much attention from higher beings, since I, the great Record of World's, am not a native divine power, I wouldn't be accepted, more so when I am in a mortals body]

'... ok, I won't even ask.. and yes, you have already told me about the restrictions... when you recorded the Electrifying Bleeding Effect for me, it had a time restriction of not copying abilities of entities with similar power levels.. are the restrictions only related with time or will there be more and different ones?'

[I do not know]

'...'

[It depends on how powerful the creature in front of you is]

'okay... I think I got it.. so, how am I supposed to get out of here... I am definetly not going to go and lift the curse of the island because of Three reasons, the first one being that I simply don't want two, since it takes a long time, second reason is that I am simply too weak to do such a thing, and the third is that this place creeps me out... In the game? meh. But here in real life? oh hell nah..'

'So I am basically stuck here huh..'

Emiyo started walking cautiously through the beach as to not get sneakily attacked again by some monster.

Further, about 200 meters from where he was standing, he could see a certain robot kind of construction sitting as if it were dead. It's not as if it was ever alive in the first place..

"Field Tiller" was a codename given by the people of Khaenri'ah to the war machines now known as Ruin Guards. And for your information Khaenri'ah was a nation without a god to oversee and defend it. And five hundred years ago, it was destroyed after unknown circumstances. Maybe because the people of Khaenri'ah were advancing with their technologies too much?

Only the gods and other beings of that time would know..

'Row, is it possible to record an ability from a non living being?' Emiyo gulped with anticipation and tried to imagine what kind of ability he would get.

[Yes and No]

'..huh?'

[Rank 3 in the monster category… 2 weeks cooldown]

'...well that sucks'

'What about that Hydro slime?' Emiyo looked away from the Ruin Guard at a little Hydro slime jumping around the beach cutely.

Cute, but dangerous.

[Rank One monster, Record random ability? Penalty: 3 days cooldown]

'YES RECORD IT' Emiyo looked at the slime excitedly, but his expression went down a little when he saw the slime noticing him and sending bubbles his way. Giant bubbles that can trap him inside the bubble for a few seconds. Those seconds being enough for the slime to kill it's prey, digesting it afterwards.

Emiyo being Emiyo picked up some stones under his feet and threw them at the bubbles with his full strength, which is higher than an average human. The bubbles of course exploded which didn't seem to make the slime happy.

"Nice try little one, now try this one for size" Emiyo picked another stone and filled it with Hydro attribute energy. Then threw it at the slime.

[Weak Hydro Manipulation]

[Description: You can weakly control the element of hydro. Not much you can do with it though, maximum of what you are able to do is wet your opponent. But don't fret, if you are lucky enough, maybe your opponent is allergic to water]

The stone filled with Hydro elemental energy flew at the slime at a high speed.

Just as Emiyo thought it would kill the weak slime, he had to drop his grin and return to reality..

[Hydro Immune]

Emiyo could swear he could see a little grin on that slimes face..

"You little-" Emiyo cursed the slime and himself, how could he forget that elemental lifeforms are immune to the element they wield themselves.

Its like making wind more windy, burn fire with more fire and in this case fill water with more water..
