Chapter 30: Outside the Dominion of the Seven

Aight, I am now back alive!

Updates would be back to at least once a day unless something came up.

Anyway, I decided to cut the exploration outside the dominion of the seven. This stuff would be for later so this is simply a teaser of what I plan to do outside the dark sea after the main storyline.)

(Alexander POV)

Exhaling a deep breath, I nodded to myself as my attempt to remodel my body as a merfolk was a success.

"A, E, I, O, U~' I also did a few vocal exercises to ensure my voice and hearing worked perfectly fine.

'Mmm, my voice sounded a lot better now. I like.' With a little bit of narcissism, I approved my voice which became a lot more pleasant to the ears.

After a few minutes of understanding my new body, a thought came into my mind making me check out a particular part of my status page.

Species: Merfolk (Origin Human / Shikigami Hybrid)

'I see now this is interesting' I said to myself as a few random ideas came into my mind.

'Since I can change my species, should I commit a few tomfooleries? I can already think of a few fun stuff to do with this ability.' As my mind wandered, I swam back towards a few merfolk talking with each other to adapt their language.

'If I turn into Mahoraga and look for Xiao, I should be able to get an adepti form after knocking him out and scanning his body. Wandering around Liyue as an adepti should be interesting, I wonder what Zongli's reaction would be like finding a random adepti out of nowhere.

A spirit form would be interesting too but isn't a Shikigami a kind of spirit? I'll look into it more later. The idea of me running around as a spirit while Hu Tao chases me sounds fun. She was my main since the first day of her release it would be fun to get to know her.

Turning into a Yokai and Melusine sounds fun too.

Mmm, I could also lure Paimon with food later and scan her to get a male Paimon form. Hehehe, it sounds like a good prank for the Traveler later.

But the greatest of all would be an Aranara transformation. Simply the thought of an Aranara fighting Gundam Hat Guy and steamrolling him. LMAO, I want to see the look on the sage's and Dottore's faces when that happens. The baby cabbage would surely find that hilarious too.'

With a few funny stuff added to my bucket list, I returned my focus to the two mermaids talking to each other. It seems I already adapted to their language even though I was absentmindedly standing beside them as my mind wandered around.

"Did you hear? They say Princess Kobo would be fighting the Great Shark at the seabed near the depts of the Dark Sea." Said Mermaid A.

"Really? Would the King allow it? The Great Shark might not be smart but it is an absolute unit. Even Priestess Ina the strongest of the Octopi tribe lost against it." Said Mermaid B.

"It should be fine, I heard they asked for help from a nation on the depths of the Dark Sea. Aside from the princess, priestess, and the king's elite knights, there should be reinforcements coming to take down the Shark." Said Mermaid A.

"Eh? But why would they lend a hand to us? I thought nations from the depths look down on us bottom sea creatures." Said Mermaid B.

"I heard that the dumb Shark attacked the convoy of the Princess of the Candy Kingdom and the fleet of the Great Pirate Marine." Said Mermaid A.

While the two mermaids conversed more thoughts ran inside my mind.

'Mmm, Interesting. Should I join the fun? Should I raid the treasury of the kingdom when their strongest fighters are out against the shark they are talking about? Or should I simply continue towards Liyue?' After a few moments of deliberation, I chose to ignore everything and simply return to the plan I already had.

While it sounds interesting, this should not be my focus. I should prioritize the reason why I started loving the world of Genshin rather than the unknown region, I have no idea about.

I would focus on the seven nations and Celestia first before expanding my reach.

Only after I finish my exploration of the seven nations would I bother going outside the Dark Sea. So while the fight would be interesting, I should not waste my time there.

I also doubt the kingdom uses Mora, so for now whatever currency they use would not be beneficial to me. Giving me no real reason to loot the underwater kingdom.

'It was just a fleeting thought anyway.' I said to myself before I started swimming upwards as I left the depts. Of the sea.

Even with my full speed it probably took about an hour before I reached the surface of the sea.

With my presence concealment activated, I raised my head out of the water as I tried to figure out where I was.

On my left using my enhanced sense of sight, I could see the frozen mountains of Dragonspine.

'Probably a few thousand kilometers.' I said to myself as I tried to approximate my current location towards the edge of Dragonspine.

My eyes then gazed over my immediate surroundings as they went wide making me accidentally mutter a word out loud, "Gorgeous"

It seems the day was already over, as the moon was already in the middle of the sky. I am now in the middle of nowhere but the scenery looked somewhat divine.

The bright moonlight shone over the ocean's surface gleaming with a silver sheen.

The waves, illuminated by the gentle glow, undulate gracefully, creating mesmerizing patterns of light and shadow.

Ripples dance across the water, adding to the tranquil beauty of the scene.

It's a serene and enchanting sight, where the boundary between sky and sea blurs, inviting contemplation under the moon's soft radiance.

As I let my body float above the gentle sea waves, I could feel contentment.

The peacefulness of being alone drifting on the ocean as the gentle sea breeze passed me by as I enjoyed the scenery beneath the moonlight.
