"Why me...?" Grey said in a dry tone. "Why does it have to be me? I spent my entire life avoiding this. Why are you dragging me back?"
"You mean running from yourself?" Raziel replied softly. "You spent your whole life running from yourself. It doesn't matter how fast you run, there is no escaping yourself."
"That's not what I meant." Grey finally wipes away the single tear hanging from his right eye and stands up to face the two celestials.
"you're the strongest beings in existence." he said. "I have no reason to be here. You can stop Lucifer. Actually, it doesn't even matter if this all disappears, right? From what I heard we'll just start over after death like, supposedly, every other time."
"Heard from Lucifer?"
Jinx asks as she walks past him to the frozen image of young Grey cracking in gospels mirror plain.
"Is he wrong?"
