In the eyes of The Gospel, reality was written in black and white, hence the law of black and blue, the strive for balance, and the everlasting war between heaven and hell.

It is what was meant to be, as such, the angels are not meant to directly interfere beyond a certain point with humankind. But, conveniently enough, there is a loophole. Who says you need a big shiny crown to be a king.

Arcanians, or New Age Watchers as they were called, were actually fallen angels like Icarus. These were the butchers of Sauria that managed to escape the wrath of the Druids. Incorporated into The Gospel and forced to live amongst mortals, they stayed hidden until they were merely myths, a forgotten history in the Era of Redemption. After all, not many people even knew the tale of Sauria, not as nothing more than a fairytale at least.
