CHAPTER1

(At a certain forest, Mingcheng is trying to catch a fish that’s in the river.)

MINGCHENG

I’m so bored. Grampa, I’ve been fishing for hours and there’s no fish.

(His Grampa who’s a dragon by the name of Ydrassil wakes up from his nap.)

YDRASSIL

Yawn! Did you say something Mingcheng?!

MINGCHENG

Gah! You were asleep the whole time! You were supposed to be helping me in fishing!

YDRASSIL

I did. I told you that we’re going to get a big fish from this river.

MINGCHENG

There’s no fish in the river. We’ve been fishing for hours.

YDRASSIL

Be patient. A big fish might appear.

(Suddenly the fishing rod becomes heavy.)

MINGCHENG

It’s here! I think I caught it!

(He tries to pull it but starts to struggle.)

MINGCHENG

Hnngh! It won’t budge. Grampa, help me.

YDRASSIL

You can do it. Mingcheng. You can do it.

MINGCHENG

That’s not helping at all!

(He manages to pull out a big fish out of the river.)

MINGCHENG

Yatta! It’s here. I finally caught it!

YDRASSIL

I told you that there was a big fish in the river. Stand aside, I’m going to roast the fish with my flames.

(He breathes out fire and roasts the fish. Once it’s ready the 2 take a bite.)

MINGCHENG

So delicious.

(He stuffs the fish into his mouth looking like a hamster in the process.)

YDRASSIL

[The boy sure has grown. I met him as a baby crying in a cave. I thought that he was afraid of me but he started to laugh when he saw me. So I took him and raised him like my grandson. I thought him magic how to read and write and so on. Now he’s a grown man. I think it’s time for me to go for an adventure and make friends.] Mingcheng.

MINGHENG

Hmm…

YDRASSIL

I think it’s time for you to set out on adventure.

MINGCHENG

I don’t wanna. I wanna stay here with you.

YDRASSIL

This continent has interesting stuff to be explored. Like snowy mountains, fortified cities, deserts and rain forests. And also you’ll meet new friends along the way.

MINGCHENG

I wanna stay here with you. You said that you’re going to teach me strong magic.

YDRASSIL

I’ve nothing left to teach you. You have become strong and mastered my fire magic. And also you might become strong on your journey.

MINGCHENG

Tell me a story.

YDRASSIL

What story?

MINGCHENG

The one where the Hero beat the Demon Lord.

YDRASSIL

I told you that story like a millionth time.

MINGCHENG

I wanna hear it again.

YDRASSIL

Alright then. [He’s such a cute kid.]

MINGCHENG

I’m waiting.

YDRASSIL

Long ago, The Demon Lord and his army decided to attack the Human Kingdoms in order to establish his rule. Humanity was about to be doomed until The Legendary Hero chosen by the Goddess of Light appeared to face The Demon Lord. The Hero wielded the Legendary Holy Sword, the Excalibur and using its holy light, He was able to defeat the Demon Lord. And his name and tale was remembered for generations after generations.

(He finds that Mingcheng is already asleep.)

YDRASSIL

He’s already asleep. Sleep well, Mingcheng. Tomorrow will be a long day for you.

(The next day, Mingcheng wakes up to find that Ydrassil had already gone.)

MINGCHENG

Where did Grampa go? Grampa! Is this some game?

(He looks around.)

MINGCHENG

Grampa! This is not the time for Hide n seek!

(He checks a cave to find some foxes mating.)

MALE FOX

Some privacy, kiddo.

MINGCHENG

Sorry.

(He leaps onto the tallest tree.)

MINGCHENG

Where did Grampa go?

(He then slides down and pouts.)

MINGCHENG

If he had gone somewhere, he should’ve left me a note. Grampa is an idiot.

(A tiger jumps out of the bushes.)

MINGCHENG

…!

TIGER

Roar!

MINGCHENG

Are you challenging me for a fight?

TIGER

Roar!

MINGCHENG

You do know that I’m stronger than you.

(The tiger leaps at him ready to pounce on him. Mingcheng dodges making the tiger to bump into a tree.)

MINGCHENG

Ouch! That must’ve really hurt huh.

TIGER

Roar!

MINGCHENG

But this will hurt even more. Fire fist!

(He shoots out fire in the shape of a fist knocking out the tiger.)

MINGCHENG

I don’t know where Grampa is. But I will find him. And also he said that I should go on an adventure and meet new friends. I wonder what kind of friends will I meet on the way.

(As he ventures around, he finds a bunch of travelers being attacked by a bunch of goblins. There are 3 men and a woman.)

MAN

Shit! Where did these goblins come from?

MAN 2

We can’t fight them! We’re just performers!

WOMAN

This is bad! I don’t wanna die!

MAN 3

No one’s dying on my watch!

(He takes out his hammer and starts beating the goblins.)

MAN 3

There are so many of them!

MAN 1

At this rate, we might die!

MAN 2

I’m not dying here!

(A goblin knocks him down with its club.)

MAN

Fredrick!

WOMAN

Kyaaa! Let me go!

(The goblins grab the woman and drag her down to rape her.)

WOMAN

Someone help me!

MAN 1

You bastards!

(A goblin kicks him in the nuts.)

MAN 3

Eek! This is the end of us! I didn’t even want to be a traveling performer in the 1st place.

MINGCHENG

Fire fist!

(Mingcheng shoots out a fire in the form of a fist at the goblins knocking them out in the process.)

MAN 1

Who’s he?

MAN 2

A kid like him can use magic.

MINGCHENG

Goblins exist huh. They look like those ones that Grampa told me about.

(The goblins charge at him at once.)

MAN 1

Look out! You can’t fight all of them at once.

MINGCHENG

Flaming Dragon wings!

(He charges at the goblins knocking them out with fire magic that is in the shape of his wings.)

TRAVELING PERFORMERS

Ehhhhhhhhh! He’s that strong!
