It had been nearly 3 weeks since the seminar and everyone had been hard at work preparing for the upcoming meeting with all of the Letters Division. The unit had already set up most of the agenda and were now working on the final touches.
"Have you invited all of the teams, Wish?" Kira asked.
Wish nodded. "I already sent out the emails and I'm just waiting for the replies."
"And I set up the meeting room at the Division base." Serenity added.
"Good. I guess that's everything then." Hede said. She swiped his hand over his bracelet and the Holo-screen displayed vanish.
Wish stood and stretched her limbs while yawning. "I've been sitting down for hours. Doing this is too tiring." She complained.
"Well were done now." Hede said as he walked off to the kitchen.
Kira grabbed his shoulder as he walked past. "Well, we still have one thing left to do."
Hede sighed. "What now?"
Kira motioned for him to sit down as she walked up the stairs and disappeared around the corner. She came back down carrying 2 thick books and dropped them on the coffee table in the middle of the room.
The were both in a blue paperback cover with the words 'History of the World' on both. They were oddly with yellowed papers and cracked spines that looked like they were gonna break at any second. The team glanced at the books in curiosity.
"What's this?" Lucy asked.
Kira sat down next to her. "I had been doing a bit of research on aliens in preparation for the meeting and came across an interesting section." Kira grabbed the book from her and flipped through the pages before stopping on one and turning it around to show everyone.
"In an attempt to bring hope to the battle torn world, the new allies-excluding the continent of Novus-presented to the world figures called 'Last Hopes' that were said to protect the world from danger."
Kira closed the book opened the second one, flipping through the pages before stopping on one.
Pax read aloud, "The 'Last Hopes' were portrayed as two humanoid beings without any facial feature or any distinct aspect-other than the small star on their left hands. This could perhaps be linked to the Atrious God and Goddess of Protection, Praes and Preo. They also went by many other names such as reapers, knights, etc."
"Well at least one thing kind of solved." Zak voiced. "Hey what does Atrious mean again?"
"It's what historians call Gen A's when writing about their deities or them as whole." Kira replied. "And also, this only makes things more difficult. These books were written well over 100 years ago. I doubt anyone from that time is still alive today."
"You're right." Serenity uttered. "Just the fact that this is written on paper- something that's barely used for anything anymore- is proof that this is all old news."
"But then, why write those names down?" Wish pondered. "How are they and your father connected? How are they going to gain the permission of literal gods?"
Kira sighed. "I don't know. But, this is all speculation. For all we know, the names on the papers could be the ramblings of some random madman."
"So is this another dead end?" Helix inquired.
"No," Kira said. "when we see him again, we can ask General Turn for more information. Until then, lets leave this matter in the back of our minds."
The team nodded their heads and continued their day as usual.
-------------------Later that day, Abbadon's Study---------------------------
"Mr. Amar, would you like some herbal tea?" Sebastian asked.
"I would like some, thank you." Said a tall, lean man. He was wearing a dark blue suit with black shoes and tie that complemented his tan skin. His dark brown hair was cut short and stylishly.
Sebastian poured out some tea and gave Mr. Amar the cup. He sipped loudly as he looked around the room.
"So what exactly are you doing here, Ishan?" Abbadon inquired as he looked over his Holo-Pad.
"You tell me." Mr. Amar said. "Didn't you call me here for a discussion?"
Abbadon sighed. "The discussion is tomorrow. I made that clear on the email I sent."
"Not clear enough, then." Mr. Amar handed his now empty cup back to Sebastian who quickly refilled it and gave it back.
"Why are you still here?" Abbadon grumbled.
Mr. Amar sipped his tea. "I heard that Kira had an outburst a while ago."
"Who told you that?" Abbadon asked.
"Charlotte. We are close friends, after all."
Abbadon huffed. "It was just a temper tantrum. Nothing more."
Mr. Amar sighed and stared at Abbadon worriedly.
"When will you give up, Abbadon? It's been over a decade since the accident."
"Please leave, Ishan." Abbadon mumbled.
"I'm sure if you just talked to her, this could all be avoided."
"Sebastian please escort him out."
Sebastian nodded. "Yes, sir."
Sebastian gently grabbed ahold of Mr. Amar's shoulders and guided him to the door.
"Abbadon." Mr. Amar said in worry.
"See you tomorrow Ishan." Abbadon said.
When Mr. Amar was safely escorted out the house, Sebastian walked into the study to find Abbadon reading over his files.
"Why does everyone feel the need to talk me out of this." Abbadon grumbled.
"Sir, I'm sure that they are just worried about you."
"There is no reason to be. I am perfectly fine."
"Of course sir." Sebastian agreed. "What is our next step?"
Abbadon stroked his chin thoughtfully. "In a few days, there will be a gathering of every team in the Letters Division at their base. I wish to talk to her again there, but more civilly."
"We are pursuing our previous conversation, sir?" Sebastian asked.
Abbadon finally set down his Pad and looked at him.
"In a way, yes."
