Day 6: The meeting

It was a new day. Everyone was still a sleep, but Dennis was the first to wake up. He was wearing light blue pajamas, but when he got up, he saw that the room was nice and seemed like a cabin at the start. On the other, he saw Dahlia still sleeping and didn't want to disturb her. So he went out to go get himself ready for the day.

Hours later, Dahlia wakes up and soon noticed that Dennis was not on his bed.

"Dennis? Where did you go?"

She asked herself and got cleaned up and ready with her usual clothing and walked out of the room and saw Spike alongside with Dennis eating pancakes.

"Oh, good morning Dahlia. Care to join us?"

Spike asked. Around that time, Nix woke up by the smell and looked downstairs. She had bed hair when she peaked and forgot to put on her glasses.

"What... are you two doing up so early?"

She asks as she scratches her eyes and puts on her glasses to see better.

"I'm making some pancakes. You should hurry before Dennis eats them all!!"

Spike said while shouting. She goes downs stairs and sees that Dahlia joined them having breakfast.

"Spike, can you go get the others? I need to have a meeting in about an hour."

"Sure, I'll be back quickly."

Spike halted everything that he was doing and went out to go get the others. While Dennis and Dahlia were about to finish having breakfast, Nix felt that something was missing.

"Hey Dennis. Have you felt something was wrong around these parts?"

"Not really… The only thing that I found strange was a wolf that was missing half its face, the knight I saw a couple of days ago, and now that guy in the black robes."

Dennis said to Nix. Explaining everything that he has encountered that felt wrong. But she gave it a thought and was wondering about the knight at first until she realized that something was already in motion.

"I'm afraid that it was too late. The harbingers have a few followers amongst the knights…"

Nix then noted things down to come up with a counterplan. When was done, an hour passed. Spike returned with Sara, Sylvia, P and someone that they did not acquaint Dennis with. She had a tan, brown freckles on her face, light yellow hair and was wearing a mix of farmer's clothing along with a cowboy hat.

"Welcome everyone, we have a few things to talk about."

Nix said.

"Howdy, can yawl explain me who is this?"

The girl said.

"Oh, you have not gone to the farm at all, haven't you?"

Nix then looked at Dennis. He was confused, but on his way around for the past few days, he has not dared to explore every corner of the town.

"Well then, my name is Dennis. We could have met earlier this week, but we got into some problems…"

"Peaceful name, u can call me Zack."

She then went for a handshake with her right hand and Dennis responded with a handshake. After they both introduced each other. Nix had a drawing board with Dennis's name on the top center while the harbingers were at the bottom.

The others sat down in the next order: Dennis sat on the floor at the front center, Sara was standing right behind him. Sylvia sat down on the couch with her legs crossed, along with Spike. Then Dahlia was standing near the board with her head down while P was sitting down next to Dennis while Zack was trying to find a place to sit down.

"I brought you all here today cause we have a minor dilemma that can affect the upcoming flower festival. Me, Spike, Dahlia, and Dennis had witnessed a messenger yesterday. They attempted to murder us to get us hurt. I believe they are trying to resurrect their god by any means, either by enough souls, or by a powerful host."

Nix then made an arrow next to Dennis and was pointing over to the word host on the drawing board. She then placed down the god in the center. Connecting all the dots.

"Question, is possible that one of them brought me here to use me as a strong host?"

Dennis asked. Making his question more of a coincidence of his arrival into this world.

"Yes, but if it was one of them, I could have traced them by now. So it was someone way beyond our limitations. For now, the best course of action is for you to stay indoors while we a few of us go inform the queen."

With that said. They all agreed with the current plan and set it in motion. Dennis stayed behind alongside with Spike in Nix's house. The girls then divided themselves into two groups. Nix was going with Dahlia and P into the capital while Sara stayed with Sylvia and Zack, making sure their friend was safe.

As hours passed. Dennis felt he couldn't do nothing until further notice, but he remembered he can continue with his training. The moment he attempted to go down to the lab. Zack stopped him from going downstairs.

"Now, where do you think you're going?"

Zack asks.

"I'm heading down to train. So far, I only used magic… But I wanted to find something that I could use for hitting."

"Is that right? Then why u and I have a little of sparring? You get to train while I get to kill some time."

Dennis then agreed and proceeded to the field that was in the lab to train. When they arrived at the field. Zack took off her hat and let her hair flow and when she did, Dennis noticed she had long hair.

"Are you ready, partner?"

Zack got into position and was holding her right fist up and high.

"I guess…"

Dennis then doubted himself for a moment until he realized that this will be his first fight in a way. When he gave out his word, Zack rushed over to Dennis in a matter of second and swung her fist right at his face. For a moment, Dennis felt he was going to die, but his body moved to his left. Getting out of the way of the punch.

"Nice reflexes, but you can do better than that!!"

Zack then went for another after another, using both her hands while Dennis could only dodge. He didn't have it in him to hurt a friend after what he did yesterday, but with one miss step. Dennis lost balance and wasn't able to get out of the next hit. He got hit in the stomach and was sent towards a wall.

"Ow…"

"My bad…"

Zack then went over to Dennis and helped him get up.

"Are you okay? You know you can fight back, right?"

"I couldn't bring it in me to hurt you. I know we just met, but I see you as one of my friends…"

Dennis said before he passed out. Zack fell sorry for him for hitting him hard and took him back upstairs, where Sara could tend to his injuries. Once that was done, they let him rest and stayed on guard over the night while they waited for the others to come back soon.
