chapter 4

Seth p.o.v

After the battle ended we took some time to catch our breath but I had more to worry about my arms, legs, and shoulders turning into stone slowly. I have a feeling that if I sent my fire elemental mana to the places where the feather hit me, I could expel the foreign mana/substance from my body having nothing to lose I sent all my mana to the infected places which began heating up and began to realize gray smoke, standing up I moved my limbs and realized that they were no problem in my movement.

Looking at Kuro whose leg was still petrified I explained to him what to do as well and with a bit of effort and time kuro was able to use his dark elemental mana to corrode it.

Looking over to the cockatrice I walked over to it and pulled out a feather i noticed that the edge of the feather was as sharp as a blade which made sense how else would it perse through my earth shield, cutting the tip of my finger using the feather it began to get petrified quickly sending my fire mana to the tip of my finger.

Seth: the feather doesn't have any mana in it, so does that mean that the edges of the feather are covered in a poison created by it and uses its mana to strengthen and increase its speed? Seth muttered to himself.

Looking ahead he spotted a tree a few meters ahead of him, he covered the feather in his mana before throwing it at the tree, and he watched as it pierced through it, grinning at this sight he looked at the cockatrice with his eyes shining in excitement.

Walking over to the cockatrice I began to drag our prey back to our shelter, on the way back I found some woods and herbs which I pulled out carefully.

….

Arriving back at the shelter I set the cockatrice down pulled out its feathers and set them aside, skinning and getting rid of the nonedible part which Kuro ate with delight, putting the meat on a roast as the cockatrice cooked to perfection The duo, weary yet satisfied, sat around the crackling fire, sharing the spoils of their triumph. The forest embraced them with a tranquil night, and under the starlit canopy, Seth and Kuro indulged in the well-deserved meal forged from their formidable hunt.

As the sun rose up and illuminated the forest with its brilliant rays a new day begins as our hero begins his training.

Month 1-3

During this month I decided to practice my martial arts and sword skills while also training my body to increase my strength as the enemies I will fight will be stronger than me. And I feel like the stronger my body gets the more my mana capacity will increase. I also increased the rate at which I am able of casting my skills till they both became part of me or become a muscle memory sometimes I would spar with Kuro to get some battle experience in order for both of us to get stronger.

Month 4-6

During this period I spent my time trying to evolve the power of my skills while trying to create new ones but so far I haven't made any progress on it the good news is that I have been able to raise the powers of my current skills making them more powerful and destructive. I also helped Kuro with his elemental affinities since he has more mana than me I had him train in spreading his dark elemental mana out word to form a dome where he has the field advantage in a battle, he hasn't gotten it yet but am sure he will soon. and he also created offense and defence magic which came instinctively or by watching me.

Month 8-12

During this time Kuro and I ventured deeper into the forest as the monsters on the outer area as I call it, were weaker than us now so to gain battle experience we headed to the inner part, of the forest we encountered different types of monsters, each one had a different type of attribute which made the battle we had hard and tricky, and some which almost lead to our death but we somehow ended surviving it (plot), thanks to all the training we had done during the past months we were able to last this long. We also explored the forest getting more familiar with it while also looking for something of interest on the way to the exit.

Also I forgot to mention that I gained more mana affinities by eating the mana cores of the monsters we fought and defeated but that is a story for another time.
