Taking Advantage of the Kill Box

On the distant street where the three zombies came from, someone peeked over from the window of the neighboring house. Seeing that the zombies near the garage were gone, the woman hurriedly packed her things and ran outside. She opened the garage and hopped on the black sedan.

The engine started immediately and she drove away. She didn't know the reason why the zombies left and she's not interested to know. The only knew was that she had to leave this place and go somewhere safe.

Jessica heard the engine from the distance and ran to the other side of the court. Even though she was a fast runner, a full-court was still too big, and by the time she reached the other side, the engine sound was far away gone.

"Hey, what is it?" Marco shouted on the other side.

Jessica was thinking about getting a car, but she doesn't know how to drive. She turned and watched Marco stab zombies on the other side of the fence. "Does he know how to drive?"

"I heard a car pass by. I thought of asking for help, but they're already gone," she explained then walked back to his side.

"What?" Marco glanced at her with a frown. "Why do we need help? We aren't in trouble though?"

"We're stuck in this basketball court and we can't leave. What part of this doesn't look like we're in trouble?" Jessica replied with sarcasm.

"Eh? You can't think of this like that. Can't you see me killing zombies over here? Let me explain to you how things are working out very well for us right now. But before that, let's move fences first. Hey, dumbos, come here, follow me. That's right~ here, here."

Marco rattled the fences using his hand. The zombies that were stacked on one portion of the fence followed him and moved to a new fence with a full durability bar.

"Don't stay near that place, come over here," he called Jessica over to the new spot, then proceeded to explain the current plan. "Let me clear things a bit for you. Imagine this place as and the supermarket ahead a portion of a single map in games. The more zombies we kill here. the fewer zombies we need to kill there. That means we can fight safely since there would be fewer encounters on that side. Get it?"

"Just like luring?" she asked.

Marco hastily turned his head hearing a gaming turn come out of her mouth.

"What? I'm a streamer, I know a few gaming terms."

"That makes communication easier then." Marco smiled then continued stabbing.

The zombies he killed were mostly tambay. A group of jobless people who often hangs around public places to waste time and have fun. They wore casual clothes and flip-flops and had malnourished physiques.

Marco didn't stop calling and shouting for zombies to come over. It was free kills after all and hiding behind something made fighting easier.

However, no matter how Jessica looked at it, she can't really take the bloodbath and had to turn away at some point. Seeing heads pierced stab after stab made her feel like she was about to puke any time soon.

The more Marco killed, the more she thought he was strange but kept it to herself.

There are two kinds of humans who lived on earth, one who can't adapt to changes, and one who adapts too well.

Marco continued stabbing and killing zombies. Every time he killed one, small blobs of light bursts out from them and scatters in the area. To save time and energy, he positions himself near those orbs when stabbing to automatically collect them.

They were the spirit points he wanted to collect and they automatically get absorbed when he got close to them.

At first, he thought he was hallucinating and was about to turn crazy. But the more spirit points he absorbed, the more relaxed he felt about absorbing them. He could even feel the fatigue he was feeling recover slightly every time he absorbed a spirit orb,

After absorbing the spirit orbs, they would then turn into spirit points which would be stored at his dantian.

When he absorbed more spirit points than his limit, the system helper sent him a notification.

-[Tips: The user has absorbed too much spirit and has become overloaded. The user's overall abilities increased by 50% for the duration of the effect,

-[Caution: You might explode if the body can't handle the pressure from the spirit strain.

Just as the notification and warnings arrived, Marco started to feel his stomach heating up, driving extraordinary strength to every part of his body. Unfortunately, the extraordinary strength he was feeling was something normal for people who were inclined to physical work.

Still, the improved strength allowed him to stab more forcefully and pull the spear much easier. He didn't waste any time and continued a rampage on the zombies gathering on the fence.

Shuack!

Marco pierced through the zombie's eye and hurriedly pulled the spear back. After half a minute of taking advantage of the overload, he started to feel his stomach churn.

He used the spear to stand stably, then headed towards the Cultivation tab.

-[Spirit point has reached the limit. What would you like to do? Cultivate the body or enhance the dantian abilities?

Marco could feel that he was about to enter the danger zone and hurriedly gave an answer. "Cultivate the body."

He was still in the early game and increasing his physical abilities should be the top priority. Improving the dantian might sound good but he had no idea what kind of effects it would give him. Wasting this golden opportunity and relying on luck wouldn't be a good thing especially when you are in constant threat of death.

-[Spirit points would be used to cultivate the body.

The extreme burning feeling inside his stomach suddenly erupted and turned into a cool sensation that spread all over his body. His body experienced a second development without the attached pain. Spirit flowed through his veins widening and strengthening them. The flowing spirit seeped into his flesh and entered his bones further nourishing them.

Overall, Marco felt reinvigorated.
