Three little Sandsnakes

When Victor arrived at Oberyn's residence he was a little surprised as his guardians became a little unsettled. Victor soon understood their concerns as his fighting instinct captured a malicious intent towards him. He was honestly surprised he didn't pick this up sooner, but on the one hand he seemed quite relaxed under the presence of his guardians and on Oberyn's personal territory, on the other hand this intent was quite well concealed. He gave his guardians a signal to stand by as he still trusted Oberyn to not mess with him in such a stupid way. When walking through the door he dodged the pretty weak spear attack and hit the enemy on the neck lightly, pushing her to the ground. But Victor was extremely surprised when he captured the silhouette of his little enemy.

Obara Sand was Oberyn's oldest daughter. Even though she didn't have a major part in the later story of Game of Thrones, Victor remembered her and her miserable fate quite clear. Her background and childhood have been very sad to be honest. Obara Sand is the bastard daughter of Oberyn Martell and an Oldtown whore. Obara chose her father, Oberyn Martell, over her mother, a prostitute, when Oberyn came to Oldtown to claim her. Victor still remembered the time Obara described the moment Oberyn picked her up. Every single word is still clear in his memory.

"The day my father came to claim me, my mother did not wish for me to go. 'She is a girl,' she said, 'and I do not think that she is yours. I had a thousand other men.' He tossed his spear at my feet and gave my mother the back of his hand across the face, so she began to weep. 'Girl or boy, we fight our battles,' he said, 'but the gods let us choose our weapons.' He pointed to the spear, then to my mother's tears, and I picked up the spear. 'I told you she was mine,' my father said, and took me. My mother drank herself to death within the year. They say that she was weeping as she died."

The little girl roughly 7-8 years old was already quite the warrior. But Victor didn't really understand why she would attack him as soon as he entered the door. He gave Oberyn a questioning look, a little annoyed to be honest.

Oberyn started laughing and explained:

"I talked a lot about you in the past few years. Obara seemingly cannot accept her father to have admiration for a little boy, merely a year older than her, while she doesn't even have the strength to hit me. She always wanted to prove to me that you are not special and that she would surely defeat you."

"Are you serious? You let a little girl believe she could win against me in a fight? I am not even sure if you could still beat me, let alone your little daughter. Don't be ridiculous Oberyn." Victor answered disdainfully.

Suddenly he heard a little cry from beneath him. Obara regained consciousness very quickly because Victor didn't use much force. She heard pretty much everything Victor said and was deeply humiliated. She grabbed her little spear and run away, leaving the two men standing there and a little at loss.

"Good job little fox. I now announce your new title "Victor the Tearmaker, Slayer of little Girls". May your honor spread towards the Seven Kingdoms." Oberyn burst into laughter, grabbing his stomach because of pain.

Victor turned a blind eye towards Oberyns ridicule. He knew very well what kind of father Oberyn would be.

"I don't think your education is very appropriate. Tomorrow I will suggest an engagement for the mighty Red Viper. I think your mother will be very grateful for my suggestion. It seems like your daughter needs a female person in her life." Victor explained in a very calm but dangerous voice.

The laughter stopped immediately as a response.

"Don't make trouble, Victor." Oberyn said solemnly.

Victor didn't respond and walked straight towards the living room. He was tired by the journey and the banquet and honestly just wanted to rest and drink a little wine. Oberyn and Victor just talked about what happened in their daily life in the last few years, not yet about any serious topic. The two friends just wanted to relax and catch up. The atmosphere quickly became very relaxed, and everything seemed like back in the days, when both of them sat on the balcony of Victors residence in Canahs and stared into the ocean. But the quiet environment was soon broken, as two little girls ran into the room with their small wooden weapons, straight into the arms of Victor. Victor quickly recognised the two little girls as Nymeria Sand and Tyene Sand, Oberyns youngest daughters.

Nymeria Sand, nicknamed Lady Nym, is a bastard daughter of Oberyn Martell. She is the second oldest of the infamous Sand Snakes, so named for their bastard origin and the nickame of their father, the "Red Viper".

Nymeria's mother comes from the noblest blood of Volantis, the Free City where Nym was born.

Young Nym sometimes joined in play at the Water Gardens with her sister, Tyene Sand, her cousin, Princess Arianne Martell, Garin, Andrey Dalt, and Sylva Santagar. Arianne keeps in her boot a throwing knife gifted to her by Nymeria.

When Tyene was in the cradle her mother, a septa, read to her from The Seven-Pointed Star. Tyene spent her youth at the Water Gardens with her cousin, Princess Arianne Martell, and the two grew as close as sisters, learning to read, ride, and dance together. They have shared meals, jewelry, beds, and onetime a flagon of wine stolen by Arianne. The two would have lost their virginity together to Andrey Dalt as well, but he was premature in the encounter.

One might say that the past, present and the future of Oberyn's daughters might even deserve their own story. Victor was already annoyed when he thought about adding five more of those nuisances in the future.
