Before the atmosphere was getting too serious the guard returned with a wooden case. The case was crafted very finely and full of beautiful decorations. The guard carefully placed it on a long table right in front of Victor and Oberyn. The Red Viper was slowly starting to breathe a little heavy. After standing up he kept walking around the table, sometimes slightly touching the wooden case. He noticed a lock on the side of the box.
Victor was amused by his behavior and took a small key from another guard of his and it towards Oberyn who easily catches the key right in the air. He carefully unlocked the wooden case and slowly opened the lit. The box was filled with red fabric, but one could slowly recognize the silhouette of a sword underneath. After the fabric was carefully removed Oberyn saw a very beautiful long sword with cloud patterns across the sword body.
Victor stood up from his chair and walked beside Oberyn while slowly explaining the details of the sword.
"This sword was crafted from 'Cloud Steel'. I will omit the details, but the production of this steel is truly time-consuming and very costly. With the effort and materials used for this sword we could easily create ten swords with a slightly worse quality but earn a lot more by selling them. The sword right in front of you is already extremely sharp and high in quality.
It is still not quite as good as some Valyrien Steel swords, but the closest of any swords in the Known World towards them. When it comes to pure sharpness, they can even rival the old Valyrien Steel swords, but their endurance is not up to their standard. Don't worry they won't break in just a few battles, but you can't hand them down from generation to generation like you can with the old valyrien swords."
Even though Victor and House Di Natale didn't quite create the best swords in the world, but Oberyn was nonetheless very excited. For him this sword was as good as any Valyrien Steel sword. He didn't intend to hand his weapon down like some sort of ritual object. Everything he needed was a very sharp weapon that would serve him well in battles. And if one day this sword would no longer be suitable, he could just discard it and let Victor produce a new and maybe even better weapon for himself.
But just when the second son of House Martell was imagining the glorious future he would have while holding this amazing long sword the wooden case closed right in front of his face. For a few seconds he was very perplexed before angrily turning his head to Victor, who was already laughing at the side.
"Hahaha. Don't worry Oberyn I don't want to tease you. You can have this long sword if you want to. But I would prefer for you to take it back and give it to my father-in-law. I have a very special gift for you instead."
When Victor finished a guard came up with another wooden case. But this time the case was very slim but a lot longer than the wooden case of the long sword. The Red Viper was already guessing something and couldn't help but pushing the case open. What came into his view was a beautiful spear. He recognized the metal part was completely made from Cloud Steel and the wooden part was made out of very special wood with a red color.
Along the whole spear were many wood carvings that looked very lifelike. A wooden carving of a snake crawling along the shaft of the spear was fascinating for Oberyn.
"If you take this spear back again, I will have to fight you for it Victor, don't mess around. This is truly a piece of art, thank you very much my friend." This time the noble son of Dorne truly had to express admiration and gratitude for such a precious gift.
Shortly after another big wooden box was put at the side of the table. When Victor opened the box in front of Oberyn what came into view was a wide variety of beautiful daggers and short blades.
"This is a gift for Arianne, because I know that she likes beautiful short daggers. But tell your brother to not raise a little warrior girl as my future wife. There are many daggers in there. Tell Arianne to share them with her cousins and the rest of the family according to her liking."
The rest of the day the two of them spent hanging out in Victor's courtyard joking around like friends. At one point Oberyn insisted on drinking alcohol which led to both drinking some of the finest wines in Victor's possession. When the heir of House Di Natale noticed that he was being tricked by his friend he got very angry.
This resulted in a sword fight between both, but they still stayed within a reasonable range, and nobody got injured. Isabella was still infuriated when the scared maid informed her of the fight. She grounded both and forbad them any future violence at their home. As a punishment to two of them had to clean up all the mess they caused during their day of eating, drinking, and fighting. When the day finally ended both were so tired that they instantly fell asleep after touching the bed.
They both spent the next day resting and home and enjoying the beautiful weather at the beach together with Victor's little sister and Ashara Dayne. Oberyn used this time to explain the current situation of House Dayne to Ashara and already tried talking about the dornish cooks Ashara trained, which the noble lady circumvented all the time. In the end Victor had to ask for one cook from Ashara because Oberyn was truly getting on his nerves, and he didn't want to sink his good friend and uncle of his future wife at the bottom of the sea.
