Wounds are Healed

The king looked a bit lost as he stared at the dwarf and his wife fighting over the book. Each of them was tearing each other apart with their intense gazes while they tugged the book in opposite directions.

"Stop, stop! You will tear the book apart." The king exclaimed at the two women, but apparently, Deraetrude's and Nevuda's ears were closed to any noise apart from theirs.

"Let go; this belongs to the Royal Family. How dare you touch such a sacred thing with your sullied hands." Queen Deraetrude snarled at the dwarf.

Nevuda sneered back at the queen, "The audacity of you to call my hands sullied when it was your family's doing. How shameless are you to preach about sacrilege when it is you who had disgraced us from our own land. This sacred book belongs to the dwarves!"

"The sacred book belongs to the throne, and it is my husband that sits on that throne, so this is ours!" The queen bit back.
