Survival

Thunderstorm are pretty common during this season and it was raining now too. Within a part of the great Alderia forest , a toppled up car could be seen soaking under the rain.

Ahhh.....a groan could be heard within the splashing sound of water droplets.I woke up to the cold sensation that the water soaked clothes were causing and started squinting my eyes for a better view. I started to understand the situation i was in and the events leading to the crash came hitting on my brain. I looked around to find the other passengers who were travelling with me but to my horror I found no one .

It started to get on my nerves and i started shaking,but with the chillness of the atmosphere made me unable to stop shivering. I looked around for the safety hatchet of the van and started to fumble around in hope of getting it.

The darkness was preventing me from seeing anything but my adrenaline started kicking in. After an unknown amount of time i seemed to have found the hatchet and with a quick release the door opened from the back side.

It was dark outside when I crawled out of the car and started to check out my surroundings. The immediate thing which i saw upon coming out was the position of the sun which was not present.Not even the moon was present which started ringing bells within my mind. I checked out my intercom device and it showed no connection which seemed a little off. I started looking for the others but to my surprise I found no one. It felt like a dream that I was travelling with someone as nothing of their existence was present inside the car. Even their bags and equipments were not present within the car. I started to think about the different scenarios that can occur and i came up with two viable option. One was that they left me within the forest and took their equipments and the other one was that something out of the normality must have happened.

Both the situations were pretty disastrous for me as i was left alone in a place where i basically knew nothing. I decided to check my belongings at first and upon seeing my backpack within the car,it gave me a sense of relief.

I started thinking about the survival classes which were taught in school and started to find a suitable place for setting up a shelter to recuperate at first. A few metre from the place where the car was stuck ,i saw a canopy of big leaves from two trees criss crossing each other.

I reached there and took out my emergency tent and started setting it up around the area. After toiling around for nearly an hour under the heavy downpour a somewhat decent tent was erected . I dragged my tired body inside the tent and without thinking anything started to close my eyes for some much needed rest.
