Chapter 5: How Malicious!

"Sigh~," Cape, Cado's 'father' sighed as he looked outside through the window of his study room, beside him was his wife.

"Do you feel guilty?" His wife asked with a slight frown on her face.

"No, not really." Her husband shook his head as he continued;

"This way he will die with honor at least."

"Fufu~, is that so?" His wife put her right hand on her mouth as she lightly laughed.

"Yes." Her husband nodded his head, his face showed guilty yet determined expression.

"Hmm~, that's good." Seeing her husband finally calming down, she nodded in satisfaction.

If he couldn't do this kind of thing, then he was not fit to be the family leader of the prestigious Lile Family.

"Now, shall we pass the news?" She said as cruel light flashed across her blue eyes.

"Yeah." Her husband nodded in agreement.

"That's why I'm saying that you really need to leave this house." Persuaded Cale as he waved his hands frantically.

"I can help you, no, 'we' can help you to at least have a normal life, not like this." Cale continued trying to break his friend's determined decision.

"Thank you but... as the young master of the Lile Family, I could... at least die with honor." Cado shook his head as sent a smile towards his friend.

Even though Cado was curious about people who would help him other than Cale, he doesn't care about that much, what he needs right now is a plan that would make his safety assured.

If Cado didn't have the Bandit System, he would immediately accept Cale's offer.

However, there is also another reason why Cado had refused 'their' help, if Cado had accepted 'their' help, Cado's 'family' would surely be able to know who were the people who had helped him and that's no good for the fatty in front of him.

He didn't want this fatty in front of him to suffer because of him...

"Ways?" Hearing Cado's reassuring words made Cale calmed down a bit

"Yes, don't worry." Cado nodded his head.

Looking at the Game-like screen, a smile formed into Cado's face.

"My friend, where did you get this news?"

After talking with Cale about his current dire situation, Cado was leisurely walking around the mansion.

There are many differences between this world and Cado's previous world, one of the major differences is Technology.

The technology in this world is like the medieval period but slightly advanced.

There are no TVs, Radio, etc that would provide them much entertainment so the people like to pass their time talking about rumors and news with each other.

And that's one of the reasons why Cado was very popular in the Capital, the circumstances of Cado were very entertaining for the masses especially for the commoner or low-ranked people who are slightly higher than the commoners in standing.

"Oh, I found them." Cado lowly muttered as he hid and secretly peeked at the maids talking with each other.

"Did you know about the news?" One of the maids asked, her face showed amusement and excitement.

The news of Cado getting a spot for the Imperial Academy is quite huge and delicious and with the couple of 'challenging to get the soot from him' made it crunchy and juicy news.

"Yes. I've heard about it."

"Yeah, yeah, however, I didn't think that the Master and the Mistress are so cruel and merciless even to their only child." The other maid said with a slightly loud voice.

"Shh!"

"What are you thinking?! Do you want us to get killed?!" The maid asked angrily.

She looked around and found no one was there to hear what they were talking about and that made her sighed in relief.

"What are you saying? Everyone already knows about it." The maid who was talking a bit loud smiled sheepishly.

"But still..." The maid was still cautious, what would happen if their young master heard about them.

They would be killed!

Even though they knew that they could talk freely in the mansion about this type of issue, there was still one rule that they need to follow.

And is that the young master of this mansion should not be allowed to hear or know what is going on.

They didn't know who had made this rule but who cares?

They could talk freely about rumors with each other and what's worst, is that the rumors are about their young master!

Normally, in a noble family or clan, if a servant was caught talking badly about their masters, they would be punished or killed but strangely, this Lile Family is a bit peculiar, they were allowed to freely badmouthed their young master!

"Don't worry, the Young Master has always been resting in the backyard, so there's no way that he would be here." The other maid reassured her.

"Wow, as expected, it's my 'parents', eh?" Cado was not really surprised, he had already thought of that option but still...

His 'parents' were really cruel.

It looks like they were playing with their 'son's' life.

They might be enjoying it all the way too!

"Well, this is a bit troublesome..." Cado said as he looked at the Quests.

The first quest about knowing who is the culprit behind this event but was still not completed yet.

It looks like I need to gather solid evidence.

Then, Cado knowing what he needed turned around and left.

Cado was on his way towards his room when a figure suddenly appeared before him.

"Young Master, the Master, and the Mistress have called for you in the Study Room once again." The figure, who is Old Will said to Cado, his kind smile was there.

'It seems this Old Man is always smiling like this. What a creep.' Thought Cado as he nodded at Old Will.

"Good, please follow me." With that, Old Will turned around and led Cado to the study room, Cado knew where it is though, but still followed.

"What is it, Father, Mother?" Cado asked in a respectful voice.

"Cough, the Elders of the Family have tried to take your spot on the Imperial Academy but with my authority as the Family Leader, I stopped it." Cado's 'father' said with a slight smile his face distorted as he continued;

"However, they were persistent, I could only compromise." He shook his head as he said in a helpless voice.

"Son, you need to persevere and win the upcoming challenges. Don't worry, I will do my best to support you." He said encouragingly.

'Fuck you.' Cado cursed in his mind, how could his 'father' lie with a straight face without even twitching?

It seems his 'father' was a master of lies and deceiving.

Well, that's one of the requirements to be a Family Leader of a prestigious family, after all.

'If this man really wanted to stop those geezers to claim my spot, he could really do it without even lifting a finger! The Family Leader has the absolute power in the Family! Even if the Elders were dying to get my spot, they would not get it no matter what id my father stops them!'

"Fufu~, don't worry dear. Our son is a strong boy, a very strong boy!" His 'mother' standing beside his 'father' chided in.

"Hah~, that's right, that's right. I strongly believe in my son." His 'father' made a smile as he patted Cado's right shoulder, a gesture of encouragement and confidence in his 'lovable' son.

"Yes, father and mother. I won't disappoint both of you!" Cado acted like a child that was filled with determination and confidence.

"Fufu~ it should be three of you not both of you." His 'mother' said as she lightly laughed while covering her mouth with her left hand.

'So, that's how it is.' Hearing his 'mother', Cado had a guess why they made this 'challenging to get his spot thing', but there's still a slim chance that he was wrong, so he still needs to get the answer.

"Really?! I'm getting a little sister?!" Cado asked he acted surprised, extremely surprised.

"Fufu~, it's not little sister but a little brother." His 'mother' shook her head elegantly, everything she does was done in an elegant and noble-like way, the way she speaks, the way she moves, etc.

'So, I'm rights, huh?' Cado smiled bitterly.

Having a family that wants you to die is not a good feeling at all, it as if the world is against you.

'No, I should not blame the world, it is innocent, I should blame the people living in it.' Cado thought.

"Wow! I'm getting a little brother!"

His 'parents' laughed seeing his outburst but there's something wrong with one of them.

His 'mother' was not happily laughing like her husband, it feels that she was ridiculing and laughing in disdain.

'This woman...' Cado's eyes glinted for in a cruel light for a moment before it quickly disappeared and was replaced with his usual happy eyes.

Cado had now the main suspect.
