Because of the excitement of feeling his strength improve, he did not notice first that he also got Robert's original talent, 'Lightning control', and new stat, 'Lightning energy'.

This is also the first time he's seen someone's talent after devouring it. He had some expectations from the other bodies of mercenaries, but because of luck or for some other reason, he did not get any talent, so he thought that the chances of getting talent were very low.

But now, unexpectedly, he was able to get Robert's talent, which seems to be the strongest among this group.

But he controlled his emotions, as his next target was the biggest boss here and the reason for this mercenary group being dead.

He came closer to the gigantic dead body of the Shadow Tiger, touched it slowly, and murmured "Devour". 

The darkness enveloped the Shadow Tiger's body, devouring the energy within it and transferring it to Xavier.

His aura started to change; there was a shadow that covered his entire body, and only the glowing soul flame in his eyes could be seen.

This change continued for a few minutes as Xavier remained standing there for minutes, releasing a very strong, eerie, dark aura, which stopped the other beasts who, because of the smell of blood, were coming towards this cave.

Finally, it seems he returned to reality, and slowly some shadow cover receded, but most of the shadow remained protecting him like armour.

His hand, legs, shoulder, and chest were covered in dark shadows like energy, making him look more intimidating.

Xavier looked at this and felt surprised by his new look. He feels that he looks quite badass and powerful—nothing like a weak skeleton.

And at that time, he also heard the system notice.

He had a smile on his face, as he had already guessed as he felt the changes in his body. One after another, it made him feel great.

He was sure that he would become a lot stronger after devouring Shadow Tiger, and the system panel showed him that, but it was a little unexpected that the shadow illusion talent of Shadow Tiger was of a similar level of lighting control.

Before he thought it would be a little higher than lightning control, as this talent does not only allow him to have control over shadows but also the ability to create illusions that can affect the minds of others, but now it seems they are on the same level.

He also seems to now have some understanding of different talent levels, as from the panel, seeing that both new talents were middle level, there should be a low level or high level that represents the talent grade.

Legendary should be quite high, as he played many games in his previous life, and, seeing the massive experience, it needs to evolve.

As for the unique talent 'infinite evolution', he knows that this talent is super strong; it is the main cheat for him to become really strong with infinite potential, even though it does not much help for him now, but the stronger he becomes, the more it will help.

After calming down, he searched the remains of the bodies to see something he did not leave.

He just took the two spears and bow arrows before leaving this area because the shadow tiger's strike had pierced all of their armour and he could now protect himself with the shadow-like armour that was covering his body.

Moments later, many beasts were attracted to this place as they felt no more deadly aura, but when those beasts came here, they got nothing as everything was already devoured by Xavier.

Xavier moved to the seclude he found before and already made a plan for what to do in the following days.

He now had weapons and had obtained new talents, so he was going to train and make those abilities his own.

With this thought, Xavier started his training session, where he first trains in spear and archery in the morning, then tries to develop his two new talents to create some cool moves, and at night he goes to hunt monsters to increase his strength and level.

And like that, three days passed since he devoured the bodies of those mercenaries and the shadow tiger.

Somewhere in the forest at night in the dark, suddenly Zzzsh! A lightning-fast flying arrow pierced the head of the zombie, splashing some weird puss-like blood.

Uhhgh! It growled as it did not understand what happened when it died. Slowly, from the darkness, a dark, shadow-like figure appeared and came close to the zombie's body.

As it silently took out the arrow stuck in the zombie's body,

Crunch! 

He then touched the body and whispered, "Devour". Suddenly, all the energy within it was sucked by him silently.

This person was naturally Xavier, who for the last three days was training and hunting, slowly increasing his power.

These three days were surprisingly easy for him, as he just trained and hunted monsters. Because of the increase in his strength, most of the beasts and undead were not his opponents; he slaughtered and devoured many skeleton hounds or death beasts with ease.
