New Base And A Tussle

In the morning, all of us sat around a campfire to eat, even the three subjects who we had captured and I had conquered. We had been kind enough to give them each a pair of their makeshift clothes that they had been wearing. We had enough of them, and I didn't want to be turned on all the time. As I ripped into my chunk of cooked meat, I decided to name the slaves.

I turned to them. "I am going to take one letter from the first three of the numbers in your subject identification and will name you that way."

I looked at the woman with blonde hair. "Your name is Ige."

I looked at the woman with brown hair. "Your name is Tee."

I looked at the man with red hair. "Your name is Hos."

They all smiled and thanked me.

Isot shook his head. "You made me join the tribe at the point of your crossbow, I'm just glad I didn't end up like them."

Font looked at Isot. "Is that how it played out?"

I talked. "Of course it is. I won't ever trust anyone until they are under the contact of my tribe, or under a soul bond that I have forged myself."

Twon moved closer to me. "You trust me don't you?"

I shook my head. "No."

I only trust people I have been with for a very long time and even then, I'm cautious. I've been screwed over one too many times."

Twon glared at me. "So have I."

She stormed out of the cave with a piece of meat in her hand.

I shrugged, she could not betray me, it was in the terms of the contract. Whatever I commanded any of them to do, they would have to listen to me.

Twon looked up from his chunk of meat that he had been sinking his teeth into with a smile as juice ran down his face. "I fully sympathize with Seti because I am the same way."

I sighed. "Enough small talk guys, we need to talk about our plan for the day."

I turned to Hos. "What all did you have in your base, and how far away is it?"

He smiled. "The base is made of twig. We don't have much left inside it. We were counting on annihilating you all. The base is about an hour away. I could lead you to it if you want."

I nodded. "Alright, today we will not be going to their old base. Instead we will be traveling further towards the mountains. I'm thinking that most of the good resources are there. I know from the respawn screen though, that it is going to be harder to live there. There's probably going to be higher level animals there."

Font threw up his hands in exasperation. "And what about this safe base? Why should we leave it."

"Because we are going to outgrow it soon. We will take the most valuable resources and will build a stone mansion on top of a mountain. We will all have our rooms and maybe we eventually have walls around it, like a castle."

Isot nodded. "I fucking love castles."

Isot turned to the three slaves. "Are any of you from Tridon?"

All three glared at him, but they all responded with the same answer. "Yes we are."

I grinned. "Interesting. Each of you, tell me what your profession was in that world."

Hos grinned stupidly as he looked at me. "I was a highwayman."

Ige smiled sweetly. "I was a failed knight."

Tee smiled before quickly talking. "I was a mercenary."

I shrugged. "Cool. Everyone, gather things up, we are going to go now."

And so, we gathered everything up and salvaged all of the structures from the cave. When we left, there was a bunch of wood that was left about the floor because we had all filled ourselves to the brim on resources and it was too heavy and easy to get.

We traveled through the jungle, heavy laden. We went over the hills and came upon an enormous cliff. We had to go around it to a point that we could climb a slope to get to the top of the cliff. Once we were on top of the cliff we had a great view of the rest of the island down towards the beach.

I turned around, what lay ahead of us towards the volcano was what mattered. Past the cliff there were scattered trees and lots of rock deposits. The whole area around the cliff would be a good location for a more permanent base. It wasn't on top of the mountains, but it was hours closer than we had been. It would work.

I sighed. "Let's build a base here."

Everyone was ecstatic they did not have to travel any further, but then they probably realized they have to be gathering the rest of the day.

We started out with one stone foundation and put 4 chests on it. We then stored our extra resources and got to work.

With all eight of us tirelessly chopping down trees and hacking apart rocks, we built a 4x4 base by the end of the day with 16 stone foundations, 31 stone walls, 1 stone doorway, and 16 stone roofs.

By the end of the day we had also set many more chests down along with the workbench and furnaces from the cave base. We set down eight new beds on the edges of the base and a campfire in the middle.

We would be safe for the night because the only way to penetrate through would be to have the codelock combination to the door or to blow through with explosives which I assumed could only be learned at a higher level.

As in the morning, we sat around a campfire. We barely had enough cooked meat to have a meal because most of it had spoiled. I sighed. "I wish we could get a fridge."

Zint nodded. "I agree."

Her anger seemed to have calmed down some.

I directed a question to Zint. "So, I remember you saying you were an MMA fighter. How good were you?"

She grinned. "Do you want to see?"

I threw my hands up in the air. "Sure, but you could not even touch me."

"You wanna bet?"

"Not really because there isn't anything you could give me."

"If you win the bet, I will let you do whatever you want to my body."

I felt something act up in my lower regions. She was definitely hot, but that didn't mean I was going to waste stamina on her. I already had and I needed to pace myself.

"We can fight, but I will keep that promise for a later date if I win. If you win, you can do the same, but I can promise you that will not happen."

We walked outside of the base, and she started to hyper herself by punching the air. I merely watched her impassively, but deep within me, mana stirred and circulated through my new mana veins.

I would supplement my strength with mana to show her how weak she was in comparison to me. It wasn't just an example to her, but everyone who watched me. Also, it would be plain fun.\

She raised her head towards me. "You ready, big man?"

I nodded. She started to circle around me. Suddenly, she dashed for me and feinted with her left hand as she brought her right fist towards my head. I did not let the arm connect to my head. Instead, I grabbed her and used mana to strengthen my body as I wholly swung her through the air and released her towards the stone walls of the base.

With a resounding "CRASH" she slammed into the wall. A small puff of dirt rose into the air as she fell to the ground. She was completely unconscious.

I walked to her still body and picked her up. She had bruises and small cuts all over her body. I would bandage her up and then put her in bed. When she woke up, hopefully she would understand that I was someone who could not be challenged.

I would always have to watch out for an Oathstone, for if a member of my tribe got one, they could leave the tribe and stab me in the back. I would always watch them.

I decided to mass release today, please leave powerstones.
