It was a bright sunny morning in the town of Wetland. Sylvester and Emmanuel made their way to Mr. Wilfred's cafe which was in the heart of the town. As they walked toward the cafe, they could feel the gazes of other people who were walking by them. People were wondering what the sons of the elite were doing near a cafe like Mr. Wilfred's. It wasn't every day that you saw such rich and handsome young men walking among the people as they were mostly found in their huge mansions or at events that were only organized for the rich and elite in the town.
Most of these gazes were coming from the women as they eyed these good-looking men.
Mr.Wilfred was in his shop when he heard the doorbell ring. As it was still early in the morning, he had not expected to have customers this soon and the sign that hung outside the door still read "CLOSED." The shop was yet to be opened. He wondered who it was.
"Come in" came Mr.Wilfred's hoarse voice.
Sylvester and Emmanuel stepped into the shop which looked fairly big enough to contain about twenty people at a time. Having tables and chairs neatly arranged with spaces between them. Sylvester's eyes quickly roamed the shop and came back to settle on Mr. Wilfred's face who looked surprised to see them in there.
"Hello, Mr.Wilfred. " Emmanuel greeted putting a smile on his face.
"Hello, Mr.Wales and Mr. Breckley, what brings you to my shop this early in the morning? Please have a seat," asked Mr. Wilfred stretching his hands towards one of the tables.
Emmanuel and Sylvester took their seats sitting next to each other murmuring their thanks and Mr. Wilfred sat facing them.
" We are very sorry to bother you this early in the morning but we came to request you to give us a job here at your place to help you out with some of the work," Sylvester stated straightforwardly without beating around the bush, starting the conversation.
Mr. Wilfred was taken aback by this and was left slightly speechless. A small frown came to form on his face.
"Hmm...I'm a bit shocked to hear that you two would like to work for me considering how rich your families are. I wonder what made you take that decision."Mr. Wilfred said furrowing his brows.
It wasn't exactly both their decisions to work here as it was Sylvester's idea and Emmanuel just tagged along.
" I'm very much aware of how rich our families are but we would like to do something for ourselves at least till our results are out" Sylvester replied.
"Have you discussed this with your parents?" Mr. Wilfred asked.
"Not yet but we will soon" Sylvester replied knowing that his parents would be furious to hear that he was working and that too in a shop like this. They would rather prefer that he assisted his Father in his factories if he really wanted to work for now.
"Okay then...but you will receive the same salary as every normal part-timer would" Mr. Wilfred finally agreed.
"We are fine with that. Thank you very much, Mr. Wilfred." Sylvester said and stood up along with Emmanuel to shake Mr. Wilfred's hand.
"Shop opens by 8 am. You can start work tomorrow."Mr. Wilfred informed them.
They thanked him once again and stepped out of the shop.
Mr. Wilfred stood alone in his shop with a cringed face thinking about something.
