He can’t open his eyes to relay his consciousness. In fact, he’s currently resenting breathing at all. At least they seem to be home, if the smell of sea salt and wildflowers and the faintest hint of rot is anything to go by.

“Why don’t you tell me, Aures?”

Edmund’s tone is more clipped and cold than Aidan’s ever heard it, but he doesn’t raise his voice.
