Public Display of Affection.

Chen sat down at his desk and looked at the young man with interest. In the depths of his soul, he had already agreed that it makes no sense to interfere with David's communication with his daughter, given that they are so close, despite everything that happened.

But what he wanted now was the explanation of the reasons for all the turmoil that had happened lately.

David, as if having read the thoughts of the man, immediately got down to business. He took several folders from his briefcase and handed the first one to Chen.

"Mr. Lee, the information in this folder may seem strange and irrelevant to you, but it directly concerns Elena and me."

"What's this? Some kind of historical documents?" Chen began to look at each page with interest.

"These are archival documents of the German organization called Ahnenerbe, which conducted its activities in the middle of the last century during the Second World War. I found these documents in Europe when I was searching for Elena," David tried as simply as possible to explain to Mr. Lee the situation in which they found themselves. And if for the first time when he shared this secret with Corey, he didn't mention some points, now he wanted to be extremely honest.

Mr. Lee has heard a lot in his life, but this went beyond all reasonable limits. Noticing a little skepticism in the eyes of the man, David used the same telekinesis stunt that he used on Corey, which eventually knocked Chen senseless. While the man was thinking through the shocking information in his head, David handed him the second folder.

"Mr. Lee, this folder contains information about the illegal activities of the Berne Group, which the company carried out in America. Some of the information I got myself, some was obtained by my people. Also here are the addresses of their secret shelters, but I think that is not all. I cannot act in the open, and now I have the main task to ensure Elena's safety, so I ask you to assist me in this."

"And how can I help you with this? Moreover, you probably heard what happened to the Berne Group and its subsidiaries. Your company, too, was the victim of a raider attack, right?"

"I want you to ask Secretary Barton to attract secret units to participate in this operation. I want no trace of their criminal activities in this country. I am sure that you can find information regarding what happened to your family. And if it turns out that your son was somehow involved in their criminal activities, your friend will help you to hide it from the official investigation," David explained his intention.

Chen looked at the young man in amazement. He now understood the reason for his desire, but was surprised at how prudent and balanced this man approached the realization of his revenge.

"David," he first addressed him by name, "Your desire is fully justified, and I am ready to ask Secretary Barton to take care of this issue. I am sure he will be happy to get rid of another snake that is poisoning our society. But do not forget, the Berne Group in its official performance represents a fairly large organization. Such an investigation may result in the loss of thousands of employees who have nothing to do with its secret affairs."

"You don't have to worry about that; I've already settled this matter," David smiled and handed the last folder to Chen.

The president's jaw dropped on the table when he read the first page, "Are you serious??? This is not a joke, right?!" This young man continued to amaze him again and again.

"Mr. Lee, you know that Elena has a phenomenal ability to remember information, right? So, I can not only memorize information but also quickly analyze and process it. I do not want to brag, but if you compare me with a computer, then my brain is like a supercomputer. A few years ago I founded this company for her. I didn't know where she was or what her life was like, so I wanted her not to have any limits in terms of money when I've found her."

David paused, watching Chen turn the pages of the document.

"Damn, I immediately thought that the name of that company was too suspicious!" Mr. Lee exclaimed.

"In addition to the former Berne Group stocks and the stocks of its subsidiaries, the whole profile also includes a large stake in Greenline Inc., several investment funds, about twenty promising start-ups, shopping centers in Japan and the Philippines, real estate in the United States, three hotels in Thailand-"

"Stop! Enough!" Mr. Lee stopped David, unable to further listen to the listing of the property, which now belonged entirely to his daughter. Such a public display of affection was beyond all reasonable! The document was legally signed and notarized, and Elena was the official owner of all this, simply because the guy sitting opposite wanted it so much!

"Does Elena even know about it?" he asked David.

"Um, not yet," the young man hesitated and scratched his ear guiltily. He was not sure that Elena would approve such a decision.

"Ahaha, and what does this mean? David, confess, what did you want to please with all that for, eh?" Mr. Lee smiled, and in his eyes, there was not a hint of ill-will which he had shown earlier.

David took his smile as a sign that he could ask the question for which he came here today.

The young man got up from the chair and bowed to the man sitting at the table,

"*Mr. Lee, I, David Anderson, ask for the hand of your daughter, Elena Lee, and your fatherly blessing for our marriage. Let me marry Elena. I will love, protect and take care of her at the cost of my life*."

There was silence in the office.

After a short pause, Chen sighed and said, "*Raise your head and sit down*," he got up from his chair, pulled out the key from the desk drawer, and walked over to the closet. "*I did not know that you speak Chinese. When have you learned it?*"

"*As soon as I found out that the Elena that I was looking for was your daughter, sir. Therefore, I immediately learned Chinese, um, just in case*," David explained and looked away.

Chen grinned but said nothing. He took out a mahogany box from the cabinet, which showed classical Chinese patterns. Then he opened it with a key and took out a small bag.

The president put this bag in front of David and unwrapped it. "*This is one of the family heirlooms that is inherited in the Lee family*," he explained, pointing to the ring on the table in front of David.

"*This ring is called the Dragon Seal. I got it from my father, and I wanted to pass it on to Jun later on... Get up*."

David obediently rose from his chair. Mr. Lee walked around the table, picked up the ring and walked over to the young man.

"*According to the tradition, the Dragon Seal is handed over to the eldest son*," he took David's hand, put the ring in his palm and covered his hand, "*Welcome to the Lee family, son*."

Chen looked at the young man's confused face with a smile. David blinked a few times, and when it dawned on him what Mr. Lee meant, he smiled happily, covered Chen's hand with his hand and bowed,

"*Thank you for your trust, father*."

"Ahaha, okay, okay. Enough of officiality," Chen patted David on the shoulder, "Come on, I will treat you with my special tea."

"Thank you, Mr. Lee-," the president's disgruntled look immediately made David correct himself, "Um, father, please do not tell Elena about the company, okay?"

"Good, good, as you say. It will be our secret, we will leave for her as a wedding gift," Chen winked at the young man, and together they went to the kitchen to drink tea with their large family.
