Chapter 32

Once the spar was over, the trio of students went to the cafeteria to get lunch together. Thanks to his sudden influx of points, Wyne could purchase magical-grade creature meat for them to eat.

Just by taking a single bite of the meat, the two who had just battled could feel their fatigue decreasing rapidly as if they had just slept for 8 hours straight. Besides that, each of them also felt an increased level of comprehension. The group quickly finished their food before returning to the arena that they had rented out. Wyne had gotten it for 8 hours so they still had another 7 hours of use.

Prof. Thebih and Winter were still in the room when they returned and were able to see the trio practicing.

The group began practicing their favorite type of spells at the same time. Wyne was focused on learning Curses while it seemed that Mil had taken an interest in Darkness spells they were taught.  On the other side, Diana was practicing the low-tier wind spells that she was taught.

"Looks like they got some good meat," Prof. Thebih noticed the increased comprehension that the trio had gone through. This was a secret that most students didn't realize, even after having eaten it on their first days. Eating the meat of magical-grade and higher creatures helped with one's comprehension of spells, especially when one ate a creature of similar attributes.

Most 1st years would not learn of this until they had the mid-term feast since the meat was so expensive and few were willing to eat the bodies of magical-grade creatures that they hunted with all their efforts instead of training them for important points.

Wyne, Mil, and Diana were exceptions to this.

While the teachers watched the students practice, the first to use a spell was Mil out of everyone. She had managed to cast Shadow Hands and create 4 hands from her shadow. The girl was able to use her hands to split her chakram into their dagger forms and began practicing swinging the blades.

"Interesting," Winter commented when she saw what Mil did. Most students would get very excited about casting their first spell and lose concentration very soon. Seeing Mil actually practice using the spell for combat was a surprise that the elf had not expected.

The next to use a spell was Diana. She was able to cast the Wind Blade spell and fire off 3 blades of wind that hit the walls of the arena. Once she cast the spell once, Diana started practicing the spell again and again until she was able to cast it once more.

"So she is going for repeated practice. Not a bad choice," Prof. Thebih was happy to see Diana practice her spell again and again. Even if a student was able to cast their spell once, it did not mean that they had mastered it. The students would need to continuously practice the spell so that they would be able to use it whenever they wanted before learning how to cast it faster and faster.

The last person to cast a spell was Wyne. He created the rune for the Nausea Curse and surprisingly fired it at himself. Wyne began to wobble and almost fall to his knees but after experiencing the curse so many times, he was able to at least keep himself on two feet, even if he could barely think straight.

What Wyne did next was the most surprising thing. He continued to practice creating the Nausea Curse while still under the effect of it and without asking Prof. Thebih to help him get rid of it.

"What the hell is wrong with students this year?" Prof. Thebih couldn't help but ask aloud

Training under pressure or under the effect of curses was an advanced practice method that few mages were even willing to do. It made the training so much harder but if one was able to accomplish learning a spell while under these types of situations, they would gain a much deeper understanding of those spells.

"You were right," Prof. Winter admitted to her oldest friend. "The students this year are truly monsters," the elf admitted before walking out of the arena.

'These 3 have the drive and correct mindsets. It looks like I can help those 2 start learning some Ice Magic before the others.'

Prof. Winter didn't just want her students to understand the concept of Ice Magic but also test their mental fortitude and mentality. By seeing how hard they trained even without encouragement, Prof. Winter figured that they would be able to handle the spells under her specialty.

Even though she left, Prof. Thebih stayed to watch their progression. She was interested in how much the kids would learn before their comprehension speed returned to normal when the hour was up.

When the time ended, she saw the trio stop practicing their spells and look at one another. Wyne then ran out of the room and was gone for nearly 15 minutes before he returned with 10 plates of food, each one having magical beast meat on it. The group ate another round of meals before they started practicing once more.

This was how they spent their next few hours. It was a constant cycle of eating and then training before eating again. They ate as fast as they could each time, not willing to waste a moment of time that could be spent training.

By the end of the 8 hours, each of the kids could cast the initial spells that performed 9 times out of 10. This was a speed that most students couldn't reach until the mid-terms but this trio had learned them before the weak had even ended. Monsters was no longer a suitable word to describe them anymore.

'True demons!' Thebih was excited to see them perform in her Magical Beast class
