Fox Fire (BL)

Hyeon Falken travels abroad for work to escape his toxic home. Instead, he strolls right into the wolf’s den—literally. The aurora is the afterlife for animal spirits. The good souls are sent to the northern lights, but Hyeon finds himself its counterpart with the malicious souls in the south. Those terrifying animal deities that were worshipped by people for over a millennium? Yeah, those are real. And the person Hyeon works for? He’s a rough-headed canine that’s supposed to initiate the end of the world—Ragnarok. Rather than gaining experience at a normal job, it becomes Hyeon's burden to serve his soul to this untamed beast on a silver platter. Will he be eaten by the wolf, or will the wolf be ravaged by his new assistant? Warning: Some chapters contain strong language, sexual themes, and fighting violence. Soul Review

By the laws of Hell...

Hyeon wasn't sure how long he'd be able to see the document, so he needed to hurry and read what he couldn't detect before. He didn't know what triggered this ability since everything was so new.

A majority of the information was the same, but there were additional paragraphs and a few altered words. What he missed before would've left him swimming back to New Zealand's mainland.

__________

The new information included being tracked through the insignia, providing soul energy to Fenrir, and the entire soul review and termination section.

*Eh? I can't even resign? Getting a disease will release me, but being almost eaten doesn't?*

The hole he made for himself was getting deeper and deeper. If that hamingja or luck from past family members determines his fate, they must have committed something serious given his track record. Can't he just make an argument that he didn't know what he was signing?

*I guess it doesn't matter. There's nothing going for me anyway in the real world.*

Hyeon plopped himself on the couch and ran his hand through his hair. Picking up the contract again, he wanted to re-read it but noticed those sections were once again missing. His eyes must've returned to normal.

Leaning his head back on the couch pillow, he stared at the ceiling. Thunder could be heard rumbling in the distance and rain began to make a pip-pip sound against the window. Strangely, Hyeon's eyes felt drowsy which doesn't ordinarily happen. His body relaxed and became heavy. It was like something was forcing him to sleep.

*It must be stress.*

As his eyes slowly closed, the sides of Hyeon's lips began to curve upwards until he was smiling sinisterly like the Joker. An unusually ominous voice that wasn't his spoke instead.

"This is going to be FUN."

Fact: Vikings believed that the soul was split into numerous fragments - hugr, hamr, hamingja, and fylgja. Each one could be further broken into subfragments (but let's not get any more complicated, shall we?).
