Fox's Sin

Life itself is a competition, it's a dog-eat-dog world. So what's the point if you don't take what you can, when you can? And you can't win just by being the cliché, helpless, little girl, waiting for your savior.

Meeting

"Hello, everyone who dared to kick me out of this club." Azeria greeted the basketball team, where half of them were staring at her with annoyance and the other half couldn't bare to give her a single glance out of fear. She told Eos to tell the whole team to go to the gym at lunch without informing them that she will be there when they arrive, she also made the four help her in guarding the possible exits so they wouldn't walk out on her. "Don't worry, I'm not angry. I'm also not opposing, not totally anyway." She gave them a tight-lipped smile, making some shiver. "I already discussed this with your coach, captain and vice captain so you can talk to them if you oppose, which I know you wouldn't." She talked to them with her usual condescending tone, speaking as if they were only kindergartners who didn't know any better. "You'll have 3 practice games with different schools before the tournament starts this year. Two of those games will be with 2 different managers of your choice, I don't really care who they are. One will be mine, and it wouldn't be me. It will be Caila De Leon, my cousin, who was consistently ranked second at our school's list of top students and your previous student council president." Azeria couldn't read the reactions they showed. "So I hope you don't have any whining. If you want to moan about me and my idea, you know who to bother." She gave Primo a sympathetic smile whilst pointing a his direction.

He was always the one to hear about the team's complaints about your attitude and how they claim that you 'abuse' them with training. They knew he wouldn't say anything and just act as if they weren't there, and he would most probably forget most of their words. Sometimes he just nods to make them feel like they were heard and that their opinions were taken to consideration, but every word they spouted just went into one ear and out of the other.

Primo sighed and gave the team a small, forced smile, telling them that they can come to him, but he'd rather no have them to. "That's it, you can go now." Azeria announced. The four finally opened the exits, even windows, for the team to go out. They chuckled when they saw some of the team's shoulders untensed as they got out, thinking they were out of her sight. "Uh, Azeria." She almost flinched when she heard the voice beside her. She turned to the guy who was looking at anything but her, he looked so nervous. "Yes?" She tried getting a look at his face, but his bangs were covering the sight of it. "I just wanted you to know that none of the rigorous trainings you made us do were for nothing and they were completely necessary. I'm really thankful that you make us push our limits." Both her brows rose in astonishment of his words, looking past the fact that his voice sounded tremulous due to his fear of her, she presumed. "I wouldn't have made you do it if it wasn't. And thank you." Her hand landed on his shoulder, making him look up at her with his eyes glinting. She recognized him as their small forward, one of the players in their starting lineup. He was always timing in interaction with the team, but he played tremendously good in her opinion. "That's all!! Thank you for giving me your time!!" He quickly bowed and ran off to the exit.

"Never knew you had fans in our team." Eos commented, walking up to her as the three others did so. "Didn't even know I had fans, not in this school anyway." Her hand ran through her hair. "By the way," Leroy started, his arms crossing over his chest as one his brows rose and his lips slightly in a pout. "How did you even know she's second in the list? The school doesn't even post it!" He asked, making the others gave his question a thought too. "Oh. You know, I'm always first, Primo's second and you three go shuffling next. And you know she is borderline me, but she can't beat Primo." Their brows creased in confusion. "How do you know our rankings??" Eos's voice slightly raised, which made both of Azeria's hands rouse. "It's the president's task to put up the list, but I asked the school to leave our year out when I saw we were top5. I knew we'd just be shuffling the places anyways." Leroy feigned a hurt expression. "And you didn't even bother to tell us??" She scoffed at his performance. "Like you'd be anxious of your marks." He huffed at her, turning his back from her direction with his arms still crossed.

"But you weren't president last year." Aki said, he's eyes on the floor as if he was in deep contemplation. "Why didn't Caila put it up?" Primo continued his twins thought. The four were now figuring out the reason, while Azeria just shrugged off the question. She fleetly grabbed her stuff from the bench on the side and left, not giving the boys any farewell before doing so. They all looked at her back with their eyes squinting in skepticism of her actions. "She knows something, doesn't she?" Eos asked, his eyes still on the girl's bouncing hair as she hurriedly retreated. "She always know something." Primo answered, a slight laugh following at the end.
