Confronting the demon

William enters Miko's memories. She is by a graveside on her knees. The rain beating down on her as if to hide her tears. Looking at the name on the grave, William notices that it's a child's grave. The child is only four years old. Looking around he sees Alex staring into the tree line. There is a small unkept grave, coiled on top of it is the demon. Uwambi shifts his snakelike form into a human form. The boys watch as the demon walks to Miko.

"Your child what happened to him?" Uwambi whispers close to her ear.

"We were at a lake near the mountains. He was playing by the water's edge when he just disappeared under the water. I was unfolding the blanket to get his food ready and did not see what happened. When I looked up he was gone, it took hours for the divers to find him. He was found twisted in some nets washed ashore on the opposite side. The authorities said that he just stepped too far and hit a deep area. That it was too fast to help him. I told him to stay close to me, but he just didn't listen." Her voice is hollow with grief as if she is devoid of feelings. The demon changes back into his serpent form and coils around her.

" I will be your constant companion to remind you of your sin. You will not have another child after the one you carry now. You will need to devote your every moment to him, or you will disappear. You will be mine if you disobey." Uwamba hisses into her ear as he becomes one with her. When she stands the boys notice she is pregnant. This must have happened when she was carrying Shiro. When she became pregnant with Niko she began to disappear as herself. The Demon true to his word is taking over her life and draining her essence. Letting her hand go the boys need to talk to Morrigan to know how to separate the two. When Lilli sees that they are separated from Miko she asks.

"What is it ,what do we need to do. ?" Lilli still has Shiro's hand so he is not frozen by her spell.

"The serpent demon became one with her because there was a child that died when she was pregnant. She was distracted and the child drowned. The demon was dormant as long as she only had the one child. When she became pregnant with the girl he started draining her life force. " William tells them. Before they can say anything else Morrigan becomes visible to them.

"The child was playing near the rivers edge when a fish came close to him. He followed it to try to catch it. The water went from just barely above his ankles to swallowing him completely. It was just an accident, no one was to blame. Shiro's blood anomaly was due to the demon. He wanted to ensure she's suffered for her first child's death. In fact most likely that is why the original Shiro died. When he was kidnapped the demon seed inside him awakened and began to feed on him. Even if you gave him your soul bead he would not have survived. The demon wanted his life force since he felt it from inside of her womb. That is why the father granted the two of you your wish. This way once the demon is gone he can be born free from the poison of the demon. He will be able to have the life he was meant to. You will get the family you wanted. It will take you with William and Alex's help to defeat him. You will be the one who can save her." Morrigan hands them a bag inside are twelve stones, black tourmaline, fluorite and Staurolyte or fairy crosses. Looking at her as if asking what to do with them.

"Place the black tourmaline in the four corners of the room. The fluorite have in your hand when you touch her. Place the fairy crosses on each corner of her bed. When you enter her mind again the four of you will be able to see and hear everything. Alex and William you will need to grab the serpent and burn him to separate him from her. Shiro you will need to hold her to help her come to terms with her grief. Since he became one with her after the boys death she has never felt the true grief. You will need to give her a reason to live." Morrigan kisses each of them on the cheek. Giving them strength to continue.

" I will be close by until the demon is vanquished. Once he is gone she will be herself again. She will be the mother she was meant to be. " with a wave of her hand the five of them are in Miko's room. Quickly placing the stones where Morrigan instructed. They begin the process of freeing Miko from the demon.
