Chapter 33: Mining expert return

Oliver woke up in morning. After his birthday, Oliver realize that he has become completely different person. Its been 2 month since he came to this new world, in this 2 month he has done so many things, although AI chip helps him a lot but he still needed to work hard. he still remember coming to this world as it was yesterday. here he got family which loves him, status of noble, also potential to make great changes ahead.

Just yesterday he had made huge profit because of one simple idea. merchant union membership has brought him huge profit and sale of goods will also bring profit in future plus everyone will buy residential property in capital city "Lights" in his barony. It will recover economy , also generate employment for peoples. In carroway barony most of the citizen are depended on farming, hunting in near mountains. very few people are involve in trade. Women in his barony do not contribute in any kind of earning activities. It need to be changed. There are lots of problem need to be corrected in future. with this thought Oliver was walking towards his courtyard.

Suddenly one of the servant call him, " young master, mining expert William has return from his adventure. he told me to give you news in advance. he will be visiting you in afternoon. "

Upon hearing this news, Oliver's mood suddenly turned bright, " Okay, thanks for reminder. " with this he went happily toward his courtyard. He was waiting for William with all his heart.

Now that he has money, he needed a lot of raw material for developmental purpose. Yesterday he ask his father for all the money they got from merchant union. His father only take 5000 gold coin to recruit new guards for border petrol and remaining money was put under Oliver's authority to use. After successfully earning money from soap business his father becomes supportive of Oliver's new ideas.

As Oliver waited for William to come in afternoon, he remember that today in evening he also has meeting with merchant to maintain there demand for newly created perfume and soap. Oliver will also going to introduce them with common soap today, for the usage of common people.

As the afternoon sun began to cast its warm glow, William arrived at Oliver's residence. They greeted each other warmly, exchanging pleasantries before settling down for a conversation.

Oliver: "Welcome back, William! I trust your mining expedition was fruitful. Please, do tell me all about your adventures."

William: "Thank you, young master. It is a pleasure to be back and share the discoveries I made during my expedition. I have exciting news to report. Firstly, I found a limestone mine merely 20 miles from Carroway Barony, a convenient distance for transportation."

Oliver's eyes widened with excitement. The discovery of a limestone mine nearby would greatly benefit the development of infrastructure and construction within the barony.

Oliver: "That is excellent news, William! Limestone is a valuable resource for building materials. With this discovery, we can enhance the construction projects and create a stronger foundation for Carroway Barony."

William nodded, acknowledging the significance of the limestone mine's proximity to the barony.

William: "Indeed, young master. The limestone deposit is substantial, and I have already marked the location for further exploration and extraction. We can establish a quarry to meet the growing demand for construction materials."

Oliver leaned forward, eager to hear about the other mineral discoveries.

Oliver: "And what about the other minerals, William? Tell me about the iron ore and the signs of chromite, nickel, manganese, saltpeter, and lead ."

William reached into his satchel and carefully extracted several small samples, placing them on the table before Oliver.

William: "During my exploration, I stumbled upon a rich vein of iron ore, but it is situated near the treacherous Graypeak Mountain area. The terrain is challenging, but the potential yield makes it worth the effort. With proper planning and resources, we can tap into this valuable resource."

Oliver examined the samples, his eyes gleaming with anticipation.

Oliver: "Iron ore holds tremendous value, William. It is a fundamental material for weaponry, tools, and various industries. We shall devise a plan to extract the ore safely and efficiently."

As they continued their conversation, William detailed the signs of chromite, nickel, and manganese that he had observed during his exploration.

William: "Though the indications of chromite, nickel, and manganese are preliminary, they are promising. Further exploration and evaluation will be necessary to determine the extent of their presence. As I was unable to determine there identity I brought them with me in carriage."

Oliver nodded, his mind already envisioning the possibilities that these resources could unlock for Carroway Barony's economic growth.

William: " I also found saltpeter like substance which you explain me. It is located near 2 km away from sea coast. But I was unable to find lead source in our territory, my lord. I hear that lead like substance is found at the border of Thornwood barony.

Oliver: "Thank you, William. You have suffered a lot in this few days. Your expertise and findings are invaluable. We shall take the necessary steps to explore these resources further, ensuring that our barony benefits from their potential. The future of Carroway Barony is bright indeed. For this invaluable contribution I will award you with 50 gold coin, collect coin from old butler Harold."

Upon hearing the award value, William turn green in excitement. lets not forget, in this medieval era common man can fulfill his family need for year with just 1 gold coin. William, " Thanks for your generosity, young master. Also we will be needing to much money and manpower to mine raw material. If you support me master, then I can fulfill this heavy responsibility."

Oliver, " It is good of you to think about all of this William. I will give you a full authority regarding mining expedition. Also William, we are in a need of skilled labor. As you know our people knows nothing about mining. If you can take few apprentice and teach them some mining work it will be of huge boost to our barony. And do not worry about there expenditure, barony will take care of that."

William, " I will do as you say my lord. I will start extracting of limestone as quickly as possible. "

Oliver, " William, do not overwork. Take some days off. I will be allocating you with 5000 gold coin for preparing mining infrastructure as well as recruiting people. Also one thing, our people can work in limestone mine but If possible find people from near barony's to mine iron ore and other minerals. do not ask for reason. I have my own reason. so lets end here William, take rest, collect money for mine from butler Harold. "

With this William left the Oliver's company and went happily to collect his reward.

On the other side, after concluding mine business, Oliver put his attention on increasing the output of the soap and perfume. As demand is growing every second, he need facilities which can fulfill the demand. He already moved the soap manufacturing to back of there mansion. There he try to organize soap manufacturing just like modern days. He divided factory in two section one to create luxurious soap and second is for mass production of soap for common people. And because of this he was able to create soap in larger quantity. Now, His daily output excited 10000 soaps a day. he also recruit 200 people from capital. He also shifted perfume factory there and now he can produce 5000 bottle of perfume daily. He was also buying animal fat and vegetable oil in larger quality which benefited local merchant in his capital.

Just like this afternoon went away and time to meet merchant drew near.
