For Reality

August 5th, 2035, 1.30 am.

Inside a heavily crowded club where people were dancing , drinking , socializing , 3 friends were sitting in the corner. They had several empty bottles on their table.

"Hey Rey it's still 1.30, why are you leaving so early?", Brian asked as he tried to take a sip from his already empty glass.

"Knock-it-off old man, none of us here is a divorcee like you and everyone has someone waiting for them at home. Specially ME", the youth with a birthday hat on his head said with an annoyed face.

"You shouldn't have touch that spot on him kid, now he will not talk to you for at least a week", Gilbert said as he looked at Brian crying like a child.

"He won't even remember, Alright guys see you on Monday. Bye everyone!!"

Rey left the club in a hurry and went to the metro station. After nearly half an hour he got off the metro and started walking towards his home.

REY'S POV.

After reaching the footbridge that is just a few blocks away from my home I slowed down my pace and checked my phone.

'It's already 2.30am'

'Well since it's already this late I might as well spend some alone time here' I thought. Standing on the edge of the bridge and facing the stream, I took out my cigarette and started smoking.

My name is Rey Geller. Two years ago I graduated from National University of Science, the best in the country. I got my job through placement and it is in one of the top MNC's . I have already had two increments and a promotion in last couple years, the senior employees take good care of me at work and we all work in good atmosphere.

My father passed away last year in a plane crash, when he was going for a business trip. Since then the only family left to me was my mother. After father passed away mother took the charge of the company and was always busy with the work.

Today is the day we promised each other to spend some time together because today is my 25th birthday.

After finishing the cigarette out of habit took out a gum and started chewing it as my mother hates the smell. I started walking towards my home and two minutes later I was standing in front of the main door with a complicated expression.

'Should I ring the bell or open with the keys'

After some consideration I went with the keys.

After coming in I saw mother sleeping soundly in her room. I was glad I did not ring the bell. After checking the doors one more time I went straight to my room and crashed in my bed, thinking about the event I planned for tomorrow.

'I am planning a meeting of my mother with my girlfriend Kiya for the first time'

To be honest I was quite nervous.

'Let's hope for the best.'

My tiredness reached my eyes and they were completely closed in few seconds.

I was already in a deep sleep.

Suddenly I felt like drowning in the water and my body was frozen. No matter how much I tried to struggle my body didn't moved, even my heart stopped beating. After some struggle I stopped moving and time passed slowly.

I don't remember how much time passed but I had a feeling that I can open my eyes now.

I slowly opened my eyes.

The first thing I realized was that I was in a room. But it wasn't mine. The room was quite special. There was no furniture whatsoever, just a floor, a ceiling four walls and all of them in pure white colour.

Even now my body was still frozen but my senses were working. I could feel the hard floor I was lying on and there was some kind of a buzz~ sound coming from outside. And suddenly a glowing orb like thing came flying through the walls and started circling above my head.

As soon as the orb came in, my body started to move and I stood up from the floor and started doing a little stretching and workout to see if everything is ok. But there was still a major issue, my heart was still not beating. After a while I turned my attention to the biggest issue that was still circling above my head.

'What the heck is that...a drone?, Is someone playing a prank'

The first thing came to my mind was the possibility of being a part of a huge prank but it soon turned to a possibility of kidnapping.

'No, that doesn't explain the situation with my heart'

As I kept looking at the orb for some time, a sudden urge to hold it in my hand came to my mind. I stretched my hand to grab the orb but as if it sensed my intentions, it flew away outside passing through the walls.

As soon as the orb went outside, some strange things started happening like the empty white room just a while before had a table and two chairs. It happened all in an instant and also there was a door in the front wall.

The door opened and a beautiful lady entered the room. At a glance she was no more than 30 and had a mature woman's charms and assets. She had a fair skin and long dark black hair with a golden pin attached to it. She was wearing a black suit and a nametag which read 'K-11'. As soon as she entered, my body was frozen once again but it did not last for long.

The lady took a seat at the table and gestured me to take the other.

She had a frightening air surrounding her which made me shudder in fear and I quietly took the seat in front of me. As soon as I looked up I noticed the orb entered the room again and started circling around me again.

"Be thankful to your Nitros kid, you are now one of us!" She said in a heavy tone.

"Don't try to hold it until you make a contract with it. Keep that in mind." This time she directed the whole pressure on me as if to etch those words in my mind forever. Her face was that of annoyed teacher dealing with a problem student.

She was giving me a stern warning to not repeat my earlier actions.

'How the hell was I supposed to know that and what does it mean by one of us. Am I not a human anymore? And what is a contract?'

I really wanted to say those things out loud but not a single word came out in front of her.

Seeing my worried expression, with a big smile on her face she asked a simple question –

"First tell me kid, what is your name?"

It was a simple question so without wasting any time I answered.

"My name is Rey ….. Rey ...."
