The Man In Red (2) - It's Urgent

Sebastian was led to a private office, where he was left alone with Oliver. He tried to ignore the pain that was aching through his body, but no matter how he sat or stood, it was unbearable.

Oliver was confused and at a loss for what to do, as Sebastian's pain-filled screams filled the room. He didn't know what to do. "Boss.. B-boss, what do I do?"

"Victoria! Vicky!" Sebastian called out, clutching his abdomen as he doubled over in pain.

"Geez!" Oliver exclaimed, watching his boss writhe in agony. It was a rare sight indeed to see Sebastian Queen in such a state, especially in public.

"Victoria!" Sebastian groaned again, his voice growing weaker with each passing moment.

Sebastian's phone began to ring. He tried to reach for it, but his pain was making it difficult to move. He groaned, and Oliver tried to help him reach for the phone. Finally, Oliver managed to grab it, but just as he did, Sebastian's movements caused the phone to slip from his hand and fall to the floor.

"Hello? Mr. McCall," Oliver said into the phone after picking it up hurriedly.

The voice from the other end of the call said, "Hello, Sebastian?"

Oliver replied, "Mr. McCall, this isn't Sebastian. This is Oliver, Oliver Smith, the boss's secretary."

The person on the other line of the call then replied, "Oliver, it's you. What happened to Sebastian? Why are you with his phone?"

Oliver replied, "The boss is in a critical condition. I don't even know what is wrong with him."

From Oliver's words, the person on the other end of the line could tell it was an emergency. Oliver's voice had a bit of urgency in it. And so, he asked, "What's happening?"

Sebastian seized the phone from Oliver and then handled it with a groan. "Victoria," trying to convey words while groaning in pain, trying to control the writhing pain he was feeling in his abdomen. He then gave the phone back to Oliver.

The person on the other end of the line said, "Oliver, where are you guys? Why is Sebastian groaning?"

The caller was Connor, Sebastian's best friend.

Oliver then replied, "Sir, we are in a leading tech company. The boss wants to sign a collaboration deal with the CEO, Mr. Rowan. But then, before they could even start, he felt a pain in his abdomen, and it was so uncertain. It has never happened before."

Connor then said, "Okay, just you guys be there, okay? I'm coming right now. I'm back in the States. I'll be there soon. Where are you guys particularly?"

Then Oliver replied, "We're in an office."

Just before Oliver could elaborate further, Connor ended the call in urgency.

Meanwhile, in the ladies' room, Victoria stood, lost in thought. She felt frustrated with her circumstances. She checked her wristwatch, anxiously awaiting Myra's arrival.

Victoria's thoughts wandered to Sebastian, recalling him struggling with immense pain. She was worried about what might be happening to him and just hoped he'd be okay.

The wait felt endless. Victoria ached to get cleaned up and head to check on Sebastian. Anxiousness and unease gripped her, making it impossible to relax until she could see him with her very own eyes.

Outside the doors of the large Leading tech company, Myra stood, clutching her things. She spoke to the receptionist, explaining, "Please, I need to get something to my friend who's inside."

The receptionist spoke apologetically. "I'm so sorry, but I can't allow anyone inside at the moment. It's a private situation, and the employees aren't here today."

Myra felt dejected by the receptionist's refusal. "Please, is an emergency. Her name is Victoria Campbell and she is an employee here?" she asked.

Despite knowing who Victoria was, the receptionist opted to remain firm. "Miss, I'm not familiar with that name," she replied, choosing to be unyielding.

Myra sensed the receptionist wasn't being entirely truthful and was about to confront her, when a familiar masculine voice interrupted from behind, calling out,

"Myra?"

Myra swiftly turned around and was taken aback to see Connor standing there. "Oh my God! Senior!" she exclaimed, slapping her hand to her forehead. "Oops! I mean, Mr. Connor McCall," she corrected herself, blushing.

Connor, catching the entire scene, chuckled at her reaction, finding it quite amusing. "Myra, what are you doing here?" he asked, amused. "Are you working at this company?"

"Uh, no, not exactly. I..." Myra began to explain, but before she could continue, Connor interrupted, "It's been a while, hasn't it?"

His eyes scanned her appearance, making Myra feel quite exposed under his gaze. She felt a rush of shyness sweep over her. "I-I was just...um..." she stammered, struggling to find the right words.

Suddenly feeling uncomfortable, Mara coughed, trying to break the awkward tension. Connor realized his intense gaze had put her on edge, and he apologized. "I'm sorry," he said. "You just look so different from when we were in school together," he added jokingly.

Feeling a sudden rush of shyness, Myra responded quietly, "Well, I'm not chubby anymore."

Connor caught her remark and burst into laughter. In the midst of his amusement, he asked, "Myra, could I have your number? Perhaps we could chat more over the phone."

Blushing, Myra nodded, attempting to hide her delighted and shy expression. "Sure, you can have my number," she replied softly.

Myra reached out to take Connor's phone when she suddenly noticed the bag in her hand. Gasping, she exclaimed, "Oh my God! I have something for Vicky. I'm so sorry. Let's talk later, okay? This is urgent."

Surprised, Connor asked, "Vicky? Your best friend from school? Like Toria?" He was taken aback by the sudden reunion with his old classmates.

"Yes, it's Vicky!" Myra replied. "The reason I'm here is because of her, and it's important." She didn't wait for the receptionist's response and rushed off. The receptionist tried to call her back, but Myra was already gone.

Connor watched Myra disappear after taking a right turn into sections in the building. A smile formed on his lips as he thought about their school days. But then he remembered her words: "It's urgent." He wondered what could be so important.

Connor suddenly remembered the reason he had come to the office. "Oh no!" he exclaimed. "I forgot all about Sebastian!" Panicked, he thought, 'I can't deal with the receptionist right now.'

With a new sense of urgency, he headed into the main building, ignoring the receptionist's calls just as Myra did.
